Both devices are Pixel 3a. The display is broken on the other device, but the touch screen still works. I'm able to unlock it but I'm not sure how to proceed here. I've tested this with another pixel device I own, but the message that appears on the "new" device is different. I've attempted to "mime" this screen seen on the other device, but it does not seem to work.
#What should the prompt on the "other device" look like?

try using scrpy to look at the screen from you computer and get a usbc/microusb splitter
My understanding is that the 3a doesn't do video over usbc. Will that still work? Do I not need to install anything on the device for this to work?
scrpy is ADB Based. give it a shot.
Alright, thanks. I guess now begins the long ordeal of trying to enable ADB...
Have fun
How can you tell if ADB works through a certain splitter?
connect it to a PC and type adb devices (when you get ADB installed on it)
I guess I should've specified: How can you tell if ADB works through a splitter without testing it? I ask because I just went out and bought one and I cannot use scrcpy on a test device through the splitter (works fine otherwise).
