#Thunderbolts*

Seeing it in 4dx Monday
But not picking up the limo or other popcorn buckets
finally, the anti heroes ✨
It’s was so good and the explanation of what the * stands for was hilarious!
It goes really deep into themes like loneliness and depression too. Definitely stands out from all the other MCU stuff and we really needed that.
Ending had me excited and the 2nd post-credit scene seems to take place shortly before Doomsday.
They did ||Taskmaster kinda dirty thought but I don’t think anyone really like this version of the characters anyway lol||
Also great, polar opposite, marketing compared to the last Captain America by not giving much away, made the movie watching experience much more exciting
Oh wow I looked through some of the promo stuff and they really pulled an Infinity War ||showing a character in scenes they weren’t actually in||
HEADS UP: The #Thunderbolts post-credits scene is spoiled beforehand in the music credits. This is your warning to NOT read the music credits that are listed before the post-credits scene plays. 🚨
Well that was a marvel movie alright
I liked it but I don’t think it’s deserving of a 90% RT
I was not paying that close attention to the music section of the credits but i immediately understand how that would spoil the following scene
I don’t see how the music credits would spoilt anything about the post credit scenes?
Ohhhhh makes sense now
I think Thunderbolts is received better because it’s a good pallet cleanser after Brave New World, it’s more what we came to expect from Phase 1-3 movies
Phases don’t mean shit anymore tbh
Like phase 4 capped with Black Panther 2
And this was the end of phase 5
Because the quality went down and everything was unfocused
I enjoyed it. I think it takes itself serious enough that it’s not a spectacle like was what was expected when it was announced but also plays off the natural comedic elements that most of these characters are already known for. It’s a fine line that a lot of recent marvel stuff has been tripping up on.
apparently the second credits scene may have been ||directed by the russos and may be lifted from Doomsday||
It’s so nice to like one of these things
I appreciate that this was an actual sincere movie
I felt like it earned its emotional beats
Slow start imo but the third act was legitimately good stuff
I was pleasantly surprised by how much of Yelena's movie it actually is too
given how much of the marketing was focusing on it as a team up
Bob was perfect, we like Bob, we need to keep him happy and loved
Please welcome the Fantastic Four!

I'll miss this today by 2 days
no need to watch the next movie with that post credit scene lol
I wonder if Franklin will be born in that movie.
30 movies in and marvel did the power of friendship plotline
They did taskmaster so dirty 😦

it was better than the trailers shown
loved it
well amc turned the lights on before the mid credits scene for me
I’m glad Bob wasn’t spoiled for me
Taskmaster was done so fucking dirty. I’d feel so bad if I was the actress unless it was something she wanted which seems unlikely.
Nah it makes me curious why/how. it’s perfect.
We know that they enter the MCU but we don't know why or how which is the main bulk of a story.
I’d still wanna watch fantastic 4 movie
I looked up the Taskmaster thing. Here is what the director said:
"Obviously, it's a big decision," the filmmaker acknowledged. "We felt like a movie like this needed something like that, where you're like, 'Okay, if they'll do that, they could do anything,' you know, and you don't really know exactly where the thing is going to go. It needed a bit of shock or surprise."
It was definitely a surprise but such a huge waste. I'd rather the character just not appear and be forgotten with a potential return up in the air over making them expendable like that.
It was a bad decision to do it so early in the film
I hate it too
Overall good film though.
it pretty much gives a lot of the how for me
(and for some journalists talking about it too)
i’m doubtful they decided to just go off and leave their universe for reed’s scientific fun after a galactus fight
it could always just be misdirect ofc but it’s giving “we had no choice” leaving in the pogo plane like that
By the Russo brothers on the Doomsday set!
I really don’t get how lol

That’s a weak how/why. They leave because of Galactus like sure he’s the main villain but there’s still a lot more nuance to this
they seem to be leaving due to the fight that’s all i’m saying
like it supports the theories.
it’s not like “oh boy here’s the whole movie”
it just hints majorly how it ends
for me personally i’m not too thrilled with how the FF movie looks so it’s like “okay cool like i get the gist of how they come basically, i could potentially skip this one”
you don’t just simply knock out galactus.
I’m extremely doubtful of your theory.
Outside of Infinity War marvel doesn’t do “good guy looses” story.
im parroting a lot of the internet tbh
the original comic ends in a stalemate, they cannot “defeat defeat” galactus
in the MCU sure
it just would make a whole lot of sense for whatever happens in the fight to be a reason for how they end up in a different universe. whether that be a way they get rid of galactus or a means to escape. i don’t think it’s likely that reed is like “let’s just go test out this new feature of the pogo plane”
i don’t think the watcher is gonna come to help the FF in the movie either
i keep thinking about how good lewis pullman is in this movie
can't wait for him to either barely be in or be written completely differently in doomsday
He’ll be in the corner reading Fourth Wing and the girlies will go crazy.
‘THUNDERBOLTS*’ billboards are now being changed to ‘THE NEW AVENGERS’

The weekend isn’t even over yet
lol lmao
I feel they should at least wait another week before they do that
Like when they made a big deal not spoiling Endgame and then spoiled it in the marketing less than a week after opening…
The original THUNDERBOLTS*’ script had a running joke where Taskmaster would struggle with memory loss and kept trying to assassinate John Walker in the film after they became friends.

She was also supposed to bond with Ava since they both got their abilities in a lab and Ava kind of big sistered her since Taskmaster more recently got her freedom.
Sebastian Stan has been spotted replacing ‘THUNDERBOLTS*’ posters with the film’s actual title ‘THE NEW AVENGERS’
︀︀
︀︀Now playing in theaters.
Ava definitely felt like the odd one out in terms of back story
oh see i think this one of the best films they’ve put out ever. not just post-Endgame, i’d put this easily top 15 of the whole franchise
i was looking forward to the film already but it really exceeded my expectations
the third act in the void is some of my favorite stuff they’ve ever done
trailers gave the feeling kinda like gotg, a rag tag team of misfit characters
yeah and i’m kinda glad they kept the genuine sincerity and seriousness of it hidden. it was nice to watch that unravel in real time
i was genuinely feeling very emotional from the moment Yelena meets up with Bob in the attic all the way to the final fight between Bon and the dark half
very emotionally satisfying
and i’m so glad they treated the mental health aspect of it seriously and actually made it a core plot point rather than just a throwaway thing
it felt very focused and like they went in knowing what they wanted to say and how to say it
i am very very pleased
absolutely teary eyed when yelana and alexi had their heart to heart
I can’t believe people are legitimately upset about Taskmaster
It's a stupid choice. Should've just not included the character.
John Walker was originally the villain of ‘THUNDERBOLTS*’
︀︀
︀︀“Valentina convinced him that his Super Soldier Serum was deteriorating and he needed updates. He needed to have monthly shots. What she was actually doing was implanting a ‘Hulk Bomb’”
︀︀
︀︀(via comicbook.com/movies/news/thunderbolts-originally-different-villain-member-team/))
It’s the plot to brave new world.
Oh good grief.
They recycled a plot point
Just saw it and I thoroughly enjoyed watching the Nega-Scott fight from Scott Pilgrim that we didn't get in the movie.
Good to know I'm not the only one who thought of Nega-Scott
Its even the same hair almost
Iman Vellani's review lmao
https://fxtwitter.com/ftersuns/status/1919968695910117854?s=46 I’m so glad I’m not the only one who caught this
O-T Fagbenle reveals that Marvel Studios originally wanted him to play Taskmaster in ‘BLACK WIDOW’
︀︀
︀︀“I made him with an African accent, and he was this kind of maniacal-like character.”

LOL
Thunderbolts* felt very refreshing
Ik the bar is low but it's nice when a movie feels like it was written by a person and not a committee piecing together multiple sets of reshoots and smashing action figures together
Really appreciate that the third act is character driven
Really like that Val wasn't defeated in the usual "here she is and everything's she's done is now exposed"
finally saw it on demand and enjoyed it, not 10/10 but at least a somewhat biased 8.4 after a bland 5.5 of brave new world.
solid emotional arcs earned, origin stories without boring you, reasonable level of threat. some iffy cgi at points but no where near as bad as cherry blossom fight scenes
