Can't wait
im gonna be a nerd and watch each episode a second or third time and do some annotating with the book
see what's the same and what's changed
uhhh it's up there
probably tied for number 1 with a few things lol
Surprise, Demigods!
Stream the two-episode premiere of #PercyJackson and the Olympians NOW on #DisneyPlus and the first episode on @Hulu.

Appreciating that Sally is a bit more....hm, not as a pushover in regards to gabe
She's still with him but she seems to deal with him a little better
They left out a lot of the first part of the school that explained more about his school issues and Mr Brunner and Mrs Dodds and stuff
Sally I'm pretty sure whoever you ran into that minotaur is DEAD
The "opening" was really good music is okay for it but visuals are really nice
Done with the first two. Extremely pleased with the casting so far. I think the only part I don't love so far is the pacing, it's a bit wonky.
But overall very excited to see this continue
the pacing is odd for sure. I really wish I had listened to an audiobook of the book before I jumped back into this
Luke introd himself and I was like, I know that name but I have no clue your relecance in this story
damn was Clarissa ever in the movies? I don't remember her, but she's giving off movie Annabeth
idk if she was in the movies but she's on of my favorite castings so far, she's matching book clarisse so well
tbf in the books this is about as much intro as we get to Luke at this point haha
we know he's a son of Hermes, that he traveled with Thalia and Annabeth, and that he becomes friends with Percy and that's about it lol
On episode 1 rn and the change in that first encounter I was like
they really named one of his bullies boba fett Bobofit
Is this my TV or is this how this scene looked
it was very dark
That’s my complaint with the first episode
Fine with adaptation changes but I’d at least like to be able to see the night scenes
I actually didn’t like it! I at least think Gabe should have been more of a douche if they were going to portray sally like that
Yeah I know she was in the second movie fs I don’t remember if she was in the first though
Was this in the second episode? Haven’t watched it yet
.
Oh shit thanks Bellamy
Show good
I’m really happy with the casting!
Pacing is too fast tho question mark?
The visuals are great tho
how many eps is it supposed to be?
8
covers the first novel
i think 10 episodes would have been better and would have helped with pacing
but we will see how rest of the season goes
i like the pacing so far
also, i didn't realize the first ep would be on hulu as well, I think hulu is going to be an episode behind D+
Mr D asking for a $500 bottle of wine (per the first google result)
Honestly kind of cheap for him
Well the second result for the one he mentioned is $9000
That's more like it
Just watched! Cast is amazing, excited to see more
I do agree with some of the early comments on the pacing being somewhat off
Watched last night my biggest issue is the obvious commercial breaks.
ya they were very jarring
Yep way too jarring
when do new episodes come out?
should be late tonight I think? so basically midnight EST tonight
oh damn so even sooner
oh nice
Did they stop the hard cuts to black?
Gonna watch it soon 👀👀
im already seeing memes about the ending of the episode lol
I'm gonna watch it tonight probably
I don’t think I noticed them here
Hmm, kinda wonder if that means they are planning on a linear TV (Disney and/or ABC) showing of episodes 1 &2
Oh that would make sense
But still thats a little weird
Like typically there is some visual sameness to things like that between episodes
I sent some to a friend
the hard cuts make more sense when you’re on the ad supported tier
did anyone else catch what looked to be a boom mic or something in the top right corner of the second shot of the selection ceremony?
Timestamp eta?
They are still here.
Not shocked but little upset they chaged the location of Underworld
Unless I'm misremebering I'm fairly sure its Vegas in books
I think it was LA right? Pretty sure but not certain tbh
I vaguely remember something about like a tv studio or something
Always was LA
lotus hotel is in vegas
I’m excited for what they do for it in the show
same
pacing seems a touch better this episode. I enjoy the changes they made to medusa
love grover
lol "they will see this as impertinent" i AM impertinent"
picking lin manuel miranda as hermes was the best choice because we will all sympathize with luke
i too would hate my father
Yeah I think confusing those two, its been FOREVER since I read books.
Can someone explain the LMM hate? I am so confused
Also should we be spoiler tagging book things?
I’m okay with not tagging things, it’ll get confusing and they might stray from the books a little bit like they did with medusa
but obviously if anyone wants to tag we can do that
lmm is different for different people. Some people dislike him cause they think he's cringey. some dislike him cause he's everywhere. I personally have issues with how he has cast POC people in his works. In the Heights is a good example of his casting lighter skinned actors then he should have. Hamilton is also controversial because casting POC to play slave owners is...well...yeah. That's as much as I want to get into without moving to sensitive topics tho
LMM is corny
I think it’s funny that his song writing is so good but when he’s the one singing it’s oof
I never minded his singing but I won't go there. His POC casting, i've never seen the complaints but I understand them, granted idk how involved he was in casting any of his productions.
some people also see him as very conceited since he tends to cast himself as lead
I like his works but I understand why people find him corny and the criticisms of him
I like his works too and I don't think he should be above critcisims but I feel like over last 2-3 years or so people have gone from loving or liking him to claiming everything he does is trash and it makes me scratch my head a bit.
That’s just the internet being the internet no?
Maybe lol
He was popular on the internet so naturally he became cringe to the internet. It’s the cycle of life.
there were still cuts to black, alot less though
Its definetly designed for with ad plans more than ad-free plans and thats pissy
I'd guess we'll see that a lot more with future D+ originals
I'm surprised they haven't brought up the cellphone thing yet
And I'm trying to remember if they had by this point
Happy Percy Day
the best day of the week
6pm tonight right?
Goddamn this show is just

Another fucking fantastic episode
You guys think that season 2 has already been greenlit and ep 8 will end with like a "percy Jackson will return in the sea of monsters"
pacing was definitely rocky for the 2 episode premiere but the last two episodes have both been bangers
also funny to see them retcon Rick Riordan's "I thought it was closer"
i was sitting on the edge of my seat like "how they gonna do it"
i'm surprised we didn't learn about how Annabeth wanted to be an architect, or how children of Athena are tasked with building things
it was such a short episode, they had the time
they like...very briefly mention it
im starting my reread today once my highlighters get here so i'll let you know how much they bring it up during that scene in the book
Working on my reread and rewatch and who the fuck is this??
Argus
Its been so long since i read books is all of this episode (going to St. Louis and so on
In books
yes and no
the general concept of it is
but parts of it are changed
im doing a reread and making my notes in the book right now and then going to make a document of the differences
I will say one thing that they've reitereated like 4 times in the book already in 6 chapters, but ignored completely in the show is the power of names
Like do they go to the Arch as an “Athena temple” or is that new
I should just do a re-read I’m sure it will only take me a few hours the books are short
they go to the arch, but i can't remember if they talk about it being athena's temple
right now i'm about 100 pages in and just about to capture the flag
a lot of how they meet echidna is different
I feeeeel like Athena’s temple is new
So they could make a statement about American pioneering
I mean I for one am not of the opinion that things need to be one for one from book
ill let you know when i get to that chapter lol
oh neither am i
my main goal in this is to see what things they leave out that I THINK they should have kept in
like the power of names
but that's just me
That’s new, in the books ||their train had a layover and annabeth just wanted to go cause she likes architecture||
As long as things feel like the heart of the story
I’m just sad we didn’t see the blue cherry coke
It wasn’t a temple to Athena in the books
I don’t recall this at all, and I also wonder if its something that might not translate well to screen
it has legit been brought up four times in 6 chapters
Was that like saying Voldemort
Sally tells him not to say the Minotaurs name, Mr. D tells him twice not to (once we he says Zeus and Hera, and another when saying his own name)
I mean I read the books ages ago, like I feel like Book 5 came out when I was still reading them
and then Annabeth tells him not to call the Furies the Furies, but the Kindly ones instead
I feel like tbh they did it because while it might be in books, they didn’t want to feel like Potter
I’m fine with them not doing that tbh, sounds too Joanney
it's just interesting because it's brought up so many times lol
Lol
The “he who should not be named” troupe has been tied to Potter a ton.
Even though LOTR for sure does it first
something about how power has names and how by naming them they'll be listening and just idk stuff like that
And I think they are trying to avoid feeling Potter-y as much as possible.
The books were trying to capitalize on Potter to a degree so using that troupe for sure makes sense.
also, interestingly enough, the first episode the first minute or so is mostly direct from the book, but with some parts cut off. The weirdest is when he goes "am i a troubled kid? Yeah, you could say that" but gives absolutely ZERO context on why we would think he's a troubled kid
episode 1 by far had the most amount of info and backstory missing
and again, not saying that it needs to be a 1 to 1, and i know shows are different. There's just some info that I feel like people who haven't read the book before need that they get in the books
like we're given absolutely zero background on Sally. I'm hoping that comes later, and the actress who has been playing her has been great, but if you haven't read the books you really don't have any idea who she is
besides percy's mom obviously
and then there's the changes i do like a lot, like Percy is a LOT angrier at his father, very early on
and very early on hates that there are children that don't get claimed
Was just talking to a friend and realized Riordan is show runner on this so to me thats hopeful in terms of things honestly
But also the episodes he wrote have had those issues more which fair he is not a screenwriter (he wrote premiere, also next week)
oh yeah Riordan has been working with these tv series since the beginning
i think he had final say in most of the cast
im going to be so sad seeing lance reddick for one of his last roles, but at the same time, at least it'll be super easy to come up with a reason for why they recast him
"i'm zeus i can change my face whenever i want"
Blue highlights are things that happen in the show, but are different. These are my favorite two so far.
And this is how episodes have been divided so far
I’m an idiot
I kept wondering “wait when does a friend betray him”
||I forgot LUKE||
And just for reference, this is where we are with the ending of ep 4
Looks like future episodes will be more focused on each/two chapters
Where as the first episode took all the exposition chapters into one
I’m still sad about the poodle
r.i.poodle
pretty sure we're also gonna lose the waterbed emporium scene, that seems very easy to cut to me
oh for sure
Wait…that happened in the books? ||crustys waterbeds??? I remember the scene but like u could’ve sworn it was in a different book||
Yeah it’s in the table of contents starry posted above!
after the santa monica ocean scene, before the underworld
iirc in the books it's how they find the actual address for the entrance to the underworld
which, easy enough to write a quick alternative solution to that
best day of the week
Ares is so good
||Percybeth fans are EATING GOOD tonight||
And immediately, too.
I'm so ready for tunnel of love
I forgot about that
Okay less cuts to black I feel this episode, and they feel better
Same
The first two had a lot of info dump stuff it had to do to make things work
Percy retains a lot more info then he gives himself credit for
Now they are in the grove and I’m LOVING it
Also reading the myths and stuff I really love how things line up
SO GOOD
God damn, Annabeth is SUCH a good actress
She is a star in the making imo
Thank you for the emotional abuse and the cheeseburgers
Hepheasteus is probably my least favorite casting so far but still very good
See I loved it
I still think it's good just not as good as some of the others
Leah Jeffries is acting circles around him in that scene
I think that's why
Yeah but I think thats just a testament to how amazing she is
Lotus casino next episode
Yeah thats gonna be good
I don’t know how they outdo this episode though
This was perfect episode of TV
Okay trailer for next episode squashes fan theory of next episode being a musical I feel
I would not be shocked if Lin did a number though
Fuck I need MORE
I'm so intrigued though like both the two weakest episodes and the best episode so far were written by Rick lol
That's the last Rick episode of the season tho
Pilots (and lets be real Ep 1 &2 were basically a 2 episode pilot) are hard and its a lot of info dump so I’ll let that one slide. He’s still got a hand as EP on the whole show though even though he only wrote a bit
just glossed over the chapters for the episode, a decent amount was changed but I think they were all really good changes
just finished the diner scene and Ares is GREAT
Ares is so well cast.
yo I LOVE that they're giving grover more personal agency
This episode was god tier
Ares perfect casting
I liked Hephaestus for the little bit he had to work with. He was only there tho for Leah to slay
WHAT IS LOVE, BABY DON'T HURT ME
I'M CACKLING
sorry this has turned into my live reactions
Don’t apologize!
lol we were doing live reactions too
i started laughing so hard and then they started showing ||hephaestus story|| and i got sad
grover not being just comedic relief anymore is so good
he gets it in later books as well, but he needed it so badly in book 1
yeah I'm loving watching him be cunning too
like him buttering up Ares for information is wild
so far we've seen hermes, ares, and heph and that's it right
and dionysus
I love Jason Mantzoukas but honestly I had always pictured someone a little more dad bod-ish for Dionysus
matzoukas plays it perfectly, but exactly on the dad bodish thing
like I pictured more punch drunk alcoholic and Jason is so fucking insane that he's a more wild vibe to Dionysus just inherently
do you know who I weirdly always pictured in my head as Mr. D?
Colin Mochrie from Whose Line Is It Anyway
granted, rick has made it clear that physical descriptions don't matter for actual casting, but like dionysus as a WHOLE and not just in percy jackson
like needs a different bod
listen i could honestly see that working
just older, balding guy
I think it's also because Mr. D is so grumpy and Colin Mochrie has a resting grump face
true
ok whoever this actor for Ares is he has a crazy forehead vein situation and I cannot imagine anything MORE Ares
Stanley Tucci as Dionysus is the only good part of Sea of Monsters
yeah i think ares is best casting for me so far
it's just so spot on
and like...the being upset and insecure about athena
it's so good
also if Percy's actor doesn't grow up to be a massive a-list star as an adult then I don't know anything anymore
he's SO good
Percy AND Annabeth
JEEZ this scene with him and Annabeth and the chair
Like holy fuck that are both so good
I'm wrecked
I’m just waiting for your reaction to another scene Kran
the whole trio is amazing
Grover is the weakest of the three acting wise but still very good
Honestly best trio of young actors we’ve gotten since HP trio
he isn't that way JESUS FUCKING CHRIST
I teared up so much
THEY'RE REALLY LAUNCHING THE S.S. PERCABETH WITH FORCE THIS EPISODE
Me hoping they get to the hero of Olympus books so I can see the crew on the Argo II
started writing but no greenlight yet
I don’t think I’ll ever forgive them if we don’t get a s2
THANK YOU FOR THE EMOTIONAL ABUSE AND THE CHEESEBURGERS
Best line
this really gets better each episode I'm so happy
honestly s2 is i think pretty much guaranteed at this point
Idk that they can surpass this episode
it's past s2 where i worry
True.
50/50 id say if they include a hint of Nico
if they can continue this quality of episodes, i think it can make it. but it's so hard to know with disney+
oh god Zoe Nightshade will DESTROY ME
next episode baby!!!
The sun and the star spin off for Percy Jackson when
i just wanna see who they cast as thalia, apollo, and artemis
Thalia casting is big and book after Rachel casting
Disney has been doing a good job for casting so far
if we get a s4 i wonder who they cast for pan
I hate that they have to recast Zeus
Wait why
the actor passed away 😦
Actor passed away
at least giving an excuse in character will be easy
"i got bored of that face so i changed it up"
Oh that's so sad
like they did for beezlebub s2 good omens
wait who's playing Zeus?
Lance reddick
oh my god
did they go to pirates to film parts of ep 5?
I just realized that Annabeth witnessed her second friend be frozen for all time when Percy sat in that chair for the Sheild
these episodes were probably the most heavily changed from the book and the changes were SO good
sorry, this episode
rick gave Grover so much more character and agenda instead of just following annabeth and percy around and being the comic relief and i'm so here for it
he gets that in later books, but i book 1 he is very much just comic relief
Same!!
WAIT WHAT
This person doesn’t understand what adaptation means
Z this is a meme
Zed did you… watch it all the way through?
Yes and unless I’m missing something calling it a “multiverse “ is still stupid.
Z she doesn’t mean any of it lol
“And now that I have everyone here” should have been your cue to not take the rest seriously
I thought that meant "ignore first part, this is what I really mean"
it's one of those things where it's just trying to get people mad and then trolling the people who she just made really mad
nah my brain is dumb
no idea why i was thinking it was oasis especially considering i just reread it
I'm sorry did anyone ever expect them to reference anything about the movie adaptation
like why is this something that needed to be clarified
he hates the movies so much
may we all be as passionate about anything in life as Rick Riordan is about how much he hates the 2010 movie adaptation of his own novel
Percy Jackson 106?
It does
This is one of the only reasons I'm awake right now
God I'm so excited for this espisode
pretty sure yes
Okay i wasn’t sure if this was a change or not.
"not to change the subject, but I'm gonna"
This feels like a huge change from books this whole section.
I mean the addition of Hermes to the Lotus Hotel in the first place absolutely, and I think from the start they've been on a tighter timeline to get to LA that doesn't really allow for what the hotel was in the books
you're a couple minutes ahead of me though
Yeah I am for sure I’m trying not say too much.
Honestly a bit of a let down after last week
THE DELAYED HONK IN THE GARAGE IS SO FUNNY
ok preview for next week showed wayyy too much tbh
okay i'm all caught up
this felt like a kind of "moving things along" episode
but we're getting the mattress palace!!
alright caught up in the book real quick, biggest notes of difference:
-i don't know if clarisse gets brought up as the possible thief but it has not been mentioned yet
-obviously no hermes in Lotus
-took a regular cab to santa monica and arrived BEFORE summer solstice was over, Poseidon wasn't there to meet him because he's not allowed to directly help
-Was given three pearls in the book, no mention of rescuing Sally
Oh, and when Percy talks to Annabeth about his dreams, she already seems to have a vague idea of who it might be besides Hades "Percy....let's not talk about it. Because it it isn't Hades....No. It has to be Hades."
i understand what they're doing with hermes and why they're giving him more story time but man he's still a little whiny bitch
currenty theory for nico and bianca cameo is this https://fxtwitter.com/fictionalxmoon/status/1747457213550018887?s=20
this is the best nico and bianca theory i have seen because it absolutely sounds like a little kid is yelling “bianca!” in the background #PercyJackson
sounds like a kid yelling "bianca" in the background
@fictionalxmoon I believe this is Bianca! She’s the only VR kid that clearly wasn’t told “pretend to play VR”
She’s shooting and reloading a bow and arrow!
This is the same scene that we hear “Bianca! Bianca!” In the background!
If this is actually a reference to them, they are obligated to do book 3 now
before the episode came out, this was the tweet from becky (rick's wife) https://fxtwitter.com/updatespercy/status/1747350946525352128?s=20
it'll be interesting to see if they confirm or not if this is it
im still working on my document of things that have changed in show versus book
which im okay with!! lots of the changes have been really good
but it's interesting to see what has changed and what has stayed the same
like the 3 pearls versus the 4 pearls. That very directly changes part of the underworld storyline, and has us looking at poseidon in a very different light possibly
did poseidon tell her to give all four to percy, and was directly thinking of saving sally? or was that the nereid's personal choice? it just changes things a lot lol
either way, only two episodes left
i'm still calling that they're going to pull a "percy jackson will return in sea of monsters" at the end of ep 8
Yea I think the 4th will be sally
it will absolutely be sally lol the nereid literally said "save the world and save your mother"
#PercyJacksonAndTheOlympians Showrunners, Dan Shotz and Jon Steinberg have confirmed that Nico is calling for Bianca in the background in a new interview with @LiamTCrowley!

Wonder what's up with this then
it me
Lol
I grew up with the books and my gf has only seen the movies
And my first reaction was “Wait they failed?”
me sitting there like summer solstice passed??? 4 pearls??? what the fuck???
Oh dang
there's a song in the first episode
I did not expect levitating as the lotus casino song
Oh my god
yeah ngl levitating kind of took me out of the moment a little bit
thereeee it is
“Oh gees”
I was like how is he LIKING the episode 2 pacing
1 and 2 pacing definitely the worst of the 6 so far
Wait did they cut the oracles message
I know he doesn’t tell anyone the last two lines
no
yes
i have a doc of all the stuff they've cut and changed lol
its just not done yet
If kingdom hearts was being made today I want Percy’s actor to voice Sora
i love walker
He’s doing like a perfect 2006 Haley Joel Osmet
all three of the trio embody their characters so well
“They smell fear”
“That’s bees”
Uncle Ferdinand mention

Okay wig I’m liking how they are adapting the Aunty Em part
Instructions unclear, Percy’s career will remain Percy and that movie where he played younger Ryan Reynolds
Oops I accidentally binged all 6 episodes
Lol
He’s growing into his hero role
So the Percy Jackson TV subreddit is apparently just shitting on the show and how bad it is and I feel like we are watching two different shows
Last episode was my least favorite (I really liked the ending and changes to the pearls and stuff though) but I still think this show is wonderful so far
Reddit gonna Reddit
That place is in another universe
These are the only people that like the movies
Yeah, it was super weird. Like they like the movies, hate Uncle Rick, etc
They are taking Rick’s hate towards the movies SO personally
And taking it out on him and the show
Hey, if they are shiting on the show, that probably means they watched it.
i feel as though people who like the movies did not read the books
Sea of Monsters was fine I didn't realize it was possible for anyone to walk out of The Lightning Thief and feel like that was a good piece of media
oh 100 million percent
it's PERCY DAY
It do be the best day of the week
My first Percy day!
im so happy for you obi
i finally sat down to work on this more
Got the first two episodes done which i suspect will have taken the longest because they each had the most amount of episodes
hoping to get 3,4, and maybe 5 done before ryan gets home. He still has to watch 6 which will be my rewatch of that one.
3 is where it starts to get interesting though because that's when they REALLY start to change things in the episodes
episodes 1 and 2 had changes but compared to the rest of the episodes, they were minor changes
and again, this document is purely for my entertainment to see what they decided to change. There are a few things that i think they changed that maybe they shouldn't have (which i need to go back and highlight) but for the most part I absolutely welcome the changes made and have enjoyed lots of them
Hey they included that!
God next week is going to either be long episode or feel a bit rushed.
Very very good episode
Hades was fantastic
Twitter making a good point about the regret Annabeth having probably seeming to non book readers as her possibly being the lightning thief
Can you remind me what her regret actually is suppose to be?
It’s not from the book
Beds didn't get cut!
reading the book vs the show, it's really interesting how the trio are just a LOT smarter and know a lot more
like multiple times in the show they come across someone and immediatly know who they are, where in the book it takes them almost like the entire fucking chapter to figure out who they are
ie medusa and crusty
dionysus to an extent, but that was more so because Percy just didn't really believe in the gods yet
it was purely a way to make it seem more like sally was cared about lol
I think the figuring out who some one is thing works a ton better in a book than it does a show
I really like the show
Oh for sure, it works a lot better to keep the show moving too haha
But I wish we could see them losing a pearl instead of Grover just saying "oh yea the pearl is inside of him, guess we have three now"
Thats minor imo
I mean he almost got eaten lol
i doubt they will but it would be interesting to see if that pearl came back in some way
Nah, doesn't feel necessary
I am too nervous to watch last nights ep
Its good, watch it!
I will say my fears about next week feel lessened by the fact that the trailer seems to emphasis him back at camp, I think they might rush through some parts and focus on the camp ending stuff thats going to be GOOD
I can't wait for people who don't know the story to freak out
I forgot the book doesn’t end with them getting back to camp, or Percy on Olympus
Inb4 the finale is as long as the movie
That would be slay
The ending of the book is then technically back at camp but leaving for the summer
I’ve seen 41 mins
Let’s be clear though, the Ares fight should be about 5
watching now
REALLY did not think we'd be getting Crusty's
I really like the "the entrance to the underworld is a Hollywood audition waiting room" idea too so a little bummed we're not getting that"
also "you're lucky we're letting you keep your head" what did some Disney executive think the decapitation scene in the book might be a little too much for a PG rating
BIG BABY ROTTIE CERBERUS
the dog ate grover’s homework
I get this solution to the pearl problem because it shows that Poseidon was thinking about Sally too, but also the “oh no oh jeez I lost it” is a little :/
Hmmmm interesting that they’re having them discover the bolt before seeing Hades
"why are you trying so hard to get rid of me? I would never do this to you"

Hahahaha this was not what I was expecting for Hades but I love it
“I seldom cahoot” 10/10
IS THAT POSEIDON?????
OH MAN WHAT AN EPISODE ENDING
I’M SO READY FOR FINALE LET’S GO
my instant assumption was that she regrets running away from home, but yeah this is a new moment that wasn't in the book
I wonder if her regret has something to do with her dad. She mentioned in an earlier episode that her dad had written and wanted her to move back and she hadn't responded, and I wonder if she regrets not responding to him.
that feels likely to me, especially seeing how deep the bond is between Percy and his mom, I think she probably regrets not trying with her dad
PERCY FINALE NIGHT
oh shit i didn't see this
I saw one thing Uncle Rick revealed. A major change.
oh i haven't seen anything yet
I like it though. Spoilers for the episode ||the pearls bring them back to montauk ||
i wanna go in blind (as blind as I can for having read the book lol)
Yeah tagged it so no one sees it unwillingly.
im very excited though
Yeah I saw that too
He confirmed a ||Joe Mama|| cameo
It's almost TIME
So glad they are flashing back to this
Right?? I was really mad they hadn't included a sword training scene
It's not the same but still good
Ares got FUCKED
Oh man that realization percy has of how small he is when he enters olympus
So good
For like ONE second I was like why is Olympus so dark and stormy
Ryan just goes "weather boy grumpy"
Olympus is amazing
Lance 😦
Bro the instant percy started going off on zeus
I'm just like percy no no that's not good
Is the implication that Hermes is a gossip because Lin makes so much sense for that.
This is second best episode.
This ending is very different isn’t it
That’s gonna upset a ton of people
That post credits scene. Perfect.
Kinda mad it took away Sally's agency of choosing to do it tho
The ending actually isn't crazy different from the books. The Luke scene is definitely changed tho, along with the Zeus scene
The fact that theres no ||scorpion scene|| will piss off people I think
I see what you mean but its fun idk
I feel like it makes Luke look less committed. Dude in the book was ready to KILL
No its still a fun scene!
I just wish Sally had gotten the revenge she deserved
Mad there was no "percy jackson will return in sea of monsters" lol
They're moving ahead like they're expecting a 2nd season
Me when percy starts shit talking to Zeus
Tbfff
If it was her it’s technically murderrrrr
Which is deserved but they probably had like second thoughts about that considering he’s less abusive here than in the book
But that finale was so good!
it's not murder she made him in to art
he's still alive he just can't move lol
i will say there was an interview where they acknowledged that tv gabe was less abusive and more just a dumb asshole, so it felt more fitting to have him open percy's mail (like he answers sally's phone) and die in a dumb way
No doubt this will be renewed with how much each new episode is discussed online. Willow had nowhere near that engagement.
Nobody saw Willow at all
I did😔all of it
I thought it was fun but yeah, not as great as it could’ve been, finale had great visuals though
like im sure whoever they get to replace him will be great but it wont be the SAME
Even Kratos would’ve thought twice taking him on
I kept rewinding on the Percy and Poseidon scene for every facial expression
Walker is so fucking talented
and they could not have cast Poseidon better
honestly i don't think there's a single casting i'm unhappy with
Hermes is the one im most meh about
but i don't hate it
yeah I was fine with Lin
his perfomance was just very...okay compared to others
Mr. D is different than how I imagined him in a way that was jarring for me but I'm not an idiot, I will take my Jason Mantzoukas and say thank you
mr. d defintely felt like he got a slight personality change
also I learned today that Toby Stephens (Poseidon) is Maggie Smith's son?????
still very similar, but seems to care more about godly thing in like...a hard to explain way
I was a really blown away with who they cast as young Percy. Found his acting even better and more believable. That’s extremely rare to find with kid actors.
Great job making magic @weary quail!
Mickey is promoting you to level 10 !
he definitely seems like more of a scoundrel as opposed to just cranky, but that's very on par for Jason's casting
like Jason just brings chaotic energy with him, of course we're gonna get a more chaotic take on Poseidon
like I pictured alcoholic couch potato dad, instead we got party animal who should really cool it
yeah
yeah that's definitely a good way of putting it
book mr d just cares so much less about everything haha
based on mythology, this version actually probably makes more sense. Dionysus's godly domain includes festivity and insanity
Finally watching the last 2
oh good, Gabe did it to himself
THEY WENT TO WDW
Synergy
Uh that will season 2's main setting for pj
They decided to scrap the plot from the books in favor of a Disney world ad
I would kill for Grover’s pov of living with the land
Aww Anabeths father took all 3 of them!
Just saw the video and they need to start filming season 2 like yesterday with how fast they grew already😭
Walker and Aryan's voices have already lowered so much
unfortunately can't start filming till it gets renewed
all they can do is work on the script
I want to know the metrics. I think it did well enough to gather another season
Just need longer episodes. Or more of them
my favorite part of the video was them doing the Moana water thing at Epcot and Aryan and Lea making the water do stuff and going "wow Walker, you make this look so hard"
Do you have the link to the video?
Aryan Simhadri wants Momona Tamada to play Thalia, the daughter of Zeus, in potential new seasons of ‘PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS.’
(Via: https://thedirect.com/article/percy-jackson-thalia-actress-aryan-simhadri-exclusive)
oh she was GREAT in The Baby-Sitter's Club
Oh That's where Ive seen her from
OH WAIT I FORGOT SHE WAS CAST IN LIVE ACTION ATLA AS WELL SHE'S GONNA BE TY LEE
Wait they already cast Ty Lee for ATLA? Is it confirmed for S2 &3 already?
I mean we have azula and ozai cast for s1 as well despite not seeing either of them in the original book 1
Oh true, so changes are a coming lol.
I’m hopefully optimistic for that show, its all at once right not weekly
I think so? it's netflix so they usually do full releases or at least release in chunks
They already changed the timeline for the show, so that's probably why they're going to be in this season
oh she was SO good as claudia
she'd be great as thalia
still salty they cancelled babysitters club
Why did they
who knows, Netflix cancels lots of good scripted stuff 😦
Book Poseidon: sorry you have to go through this man you should have never been born
Movie Poseidon: man i dont remember anything abt this guy tbh
Musical Poseidon: It’s a seashell 👉🐚
Show Poseidon: I want you mom soooo bad shes literally like im literally in love with her
Is this how I learn there was a LIGHTNING THEIF MUSICAL
Is it true Poseidon in the movie is the guy who plays Owen Hunt on Greys anatomy?
no that's a different guy
Owen Hunt's actor is Kevin McKidd, Poseidon's actor is Toby Stephens
OH wait you said movie
according to wikipedia, yes that is Kevin McKidd lmao
Cursed to have no kids in one show, and to be a deadbeat dad in a movie
Musical??
yeah
The Greek gods are real, and they’re ruining Percy Jackson’s life. As a son of Poseidon, Percy has newly discovered powers he can’t control, monsters on his trail, and he is on an epic quest to find Zeus’s lightning bolt and prevent a war between the gods. Normal is a myth when you’re a demigod. Based on the best-selling Disney-Hyperion novel by...
WOO

YAAAAAS
SEA OF MONSTERS HERE WE COME
110 million hours of @PercySeries has been streamed #TCA24
Shotz also says they are already looking at Books 3, 4, and 5 in terms of what they can seed in Season 2. #TCA24
Walker Scobell says the trio discusses their dream casting for the series all the time. He and Aryan really want #GodofWar actor Chris Judge to play Atlas in #PercyJackson and Sam Claflin to play Apollo #TCA24
Finnick is RIDICULOUSLY Apollo coded so yeah easy fit
THEY GROW UP SO FAST
I definitely have noticed his voice is a LOT deeper in recent press than it is on the show
and I think I saw a comment from him in a video about how by the time they filmed the character posters and stuff, he'd already gotten a lot taller and in the poster they ended up using his jeans were apparently too short
I'm wondering if it's possible for the series to be secretly greenlit for more seasons and they're gonna try to knock a couple out back to back before the cast grows up too much
there's a year between the events of book 1 and book 2 but only six months between book 2 to 3 and book 3 to 4, so if the cast eventually looking too old for their parts is a concern then that's something they'll have to think about
It’s so hard cause of the minor filming rules
It would be really smart of the to film sea of monsters and titans curse simultaneously though
yeah like hypothetically if they're able to do 2/3 and then 4/5
Season 2 babyyy
??
Okay actually sitting down to watch season 2 now
I haven’t read the books but so far been enjoying season 1 more, it felt more fun and less predictable in comparison
they really drained the budget last episode to give it all to this once, the Sea of Monsters action was pretty awesome
The show is too damn dark though with the flat lighting.
Found it weaker than last season and this didn’t even feel like a season finale. Really hope next one will be better with proper promo this time. Barely seen anyone mentioned the show on social media anymore.
lol that was so weird
excited s3 is coming out this year
gotta get on it before their actors are too old
