I’m glad my friend dragged me to this. I really wasn’t that interested in it and was going to probably wait for streaming. Although I will say I felt like for a musical the individual performances weren’t that strong. I definitely agree that that the antagonists really were great casting and were my favorite part of the movie.
Be seeing this on Monday
‘WONKA’ receives an A- CinemaScore.🍫

I started tearing up right when the pure imagination melody played.
This movie songs were so fire
The movie was a drug trip
But like a good drug trip
I have the for a moment song on repeat
Great movie, loved the songs
I'm happy the movie didn't just end when the dance ended and showed us the outcomes of everyone as well as the factory
Does anyone know of they plan on making a 2nd movie with the cast about the factory?
PHIL WANG AND CHARLOTTE RITCHIE
And wonka is just so animated i love it so much
I freaked out seeing them
If you watch taskmaster at all, that was a trip
I really enjoyed the movie, I was surprised at how well Timothee sings
The songs are definitely a refresher from Mid-ish
Why is scrub scrub so catchy
Scrub Scrub
Also I knew I recognized Ms. scribbits voice, she was in puss in boots
Scrub scrub
How long are trailers usually for film? I might miss them due to transportation
15-20 min
It was great
Time to see wonka
have fun!
Thank you 😀
Theater is definitely empty today
Scrub Scrub
scrub scrub
grub grub
That was catchy.
Very cute adaptation of the book and I feel timothee brought more a childlike wonder to his version of wonka
Credit scene is short but good wrap up.
No scent but the chairs did move like dancing during the songs
the smells would’ve been great in his candy store
If there was it was faint or not working
I can also admit that pure imagination was wonderful for the version
One more thing was I was shocked at who the priest was
I think something I like about wonka is it doesn't spend a ton of time trying to explain its universe or why things the way they are in their weirdness. It just is that way and they roll with it.
Idk if that makes sense
Yeah they just assume you know it, it's a great way to just avoid a ton of exposition
I love it when movies do this
it's like spiderman homecoming avoiding the whole uncle ben thing
The original Charlie and the chocolate factory was that way too and I just like it
I did get hints of other musicals on some scenes..just me though
They don't bog us down with details on how the world works, it just is that way. Some movies it doesn't work but with Charlie and with wonka it does
They also picked good cast for the film.
I loved how they took the concept of a Chocolate Cartel very seriously
Nobody in the movie going “well that’s kinda silly” about any of this stuff
It’s just how the world is
Absolutely
I love sincerity!!!
I also really loved the chocolate cartel song lol
most of the songs are bops
There weren't really any I didn't like. I think the noodle wonka duet was my favorite though.
My favorite was the shop song.
top 4 are noodle/wonka duet, scrub scrub, pure imagination and the cartel song in no particular order
Pure imagination definitely was a good one. Scrub scrub definitely reminded me of Broadway musical
and bribing with chocolate instead of money
and the captain just got bigger in every scene.
tbh I thought the bit with the captain was hilarious
keegan is so good
Olivia Coleman my queen
I love listening to it in the car
Am currently listening in the car LOL
Still can't believe how detailed the sets got
And the villains.. love the communication that 2 sugarcoat the plan but the 1 is literal
wasgo isn't allowed to be right
but yeah, good movie
i do not know what I know Mr. Bleacher from but he looked so familiar
Apparently the actor, Tom Davis was in Paddington 2
Apparently the actor who played abacus was in downtown abbey. Never watched it
Ye, he's like the main butler guyb
....and prodnose was the tweedles in alice 👀
He was a host on bakeoff
Which I haven't watched either.
Scrub scrub is stuck in my head 😭

Matt lucas!!
I liked it more than I thought i would. Definitely prefer this over another Chocolate Factory movie
Also that really was the best way to put a golden ticket in the movie
I know he says he hates all these goofy roles but Hugh Grant really does give it his all. Im kinda surprised like 75% of his screen time is in the trailers but im happy he isnt the weird cringey character I thought he would be
Gotta say him farting a flashback was…a choice
Also i read multiple tweets making fun of this giraffe milking scene so i thought it was gonna be this weird gross thing, but its him quietly milking the thing and then the best song in the movie so idk what the issue was
The giraffe milking didn't bother me
Idk how it could bother anyone
And honestly I liked how little the oompa loompas were in this movie, a little goes a long way
Like my favorite critic was completely trashing hugh grant as the grant oompa loompa but i'm like -he's in it for five minutes dawg???
It is funny he was all, WE CANT STEAL THIS MILK, but he has no issue drugging people
I thought hugh grant was funny af
The trailer is such a tragedy tbh
The trailers are sooooooo bad
Who did he drug lol
I also find it funny how once the laundry problem gets resolved, it’s like it doesn’t exist anymore lol
The guard
Oh yeah the night out candy
Oh lol true
He didn't drug him, he gave him a lot of alcohol at once lol
Same for the other guard too..same alcohol
Alcohols a drug 😂
I was kinda hoping all the chocolate would have a gimmick but its probably better every situation wasnt solved with magic chocolate
yes but still used alcohol to distract the guards
and its such a great bit
and wonka stole the balloons too
B-but it was free balloon day!
Omfg that was so fun
The music is so good omg
Why were people freaking out about the giraffe milking
My biggest issue is that I don’t think it was as visually appealing as it couldve been but there were definitely parts that were really fun and cute
The og factory is just so good and when I see a giant cgi landscape it’s just not that impressive to me
I liked all the gadgets and stuff it was super cute
Th costumes were great too
This was a delightful film.
I can never forget the peach scene thou
it lives in my mind
PLS NO😭😭😭
For a villains song that was catchy and definitely fit the musical villain style
this movie was not to bad
Lol fr, i thought it was gonna be so awful and its genuinely one of the most charming movies of the year
I knew not to doubt the director but damn, Timmys “quiet up and listen down” from the trailer was so cringey
amazing
