#Ahsoka

I hope everyone watched a very specific three episode Clone Wars arc in 2011!
pretty good summary of the ending
We're back to mortis and dathomir
So are we trying to resurrection the whole tribe that merrin said died or talzin at this rate..
I will be so shocked and angry if savage is back

this needed to be longer, the lack of closure is painful
it's starting to face the marvel problem
cliffhangers and teases that won't be paid off for 3-5 years
It's almost like feige and feloni trade ideas lately .. this does feel like marvel
I did not care for that
Disney needs to pay for filoni to go back to school for writing
Only part I liked was when she cut down Ahsokas hilt
That was so sudden and wild, too. But also cool.
Tbh this should have been fleshed out earlier to understand why they were following thrawn and more
It was very cool
Morgan and Ahsoka should’ve been the only two to get stuck
Then they become lifelong friends
A spit my drink moment
can't believe they really did nothing with shin and baylan
also sabine's actor is one of the worst
I still can’t understand how those crurtles didn’t get eaten by either the raiders or the wolves
Also a lot of great scenes from this episode
Scrolling past everything to say holy shit
That was fucking amazing
God damn
My mind is racing
It was amazing
it was probably unintentional but I got CHILLS
MY HEART
Really sad now about Ray’s passing with his story left up in the air
Actual sobbing tears seeing him on that statue
I do like the idea of exploring more of the Mortis stuff. I’ve been intrigued by the whole thing since clone wars
Ahsoka and Morgan’s second fight was so good. I have always love seeing different fight styles in Star Wars outside of the lightsaber/Kendo stuff
Interesting to see kung fu vs kendo on screen
EZRA MAKING HIS THIRD LIGHTSABER MADE MY HEART SO FULL
Using Kanan’s emitter killed me
finally some good lightsaber fight
im kinda sad it ended like this. Baylon's story is just a big story plot that won't be filled.
I’ll read a Baylan book trilogy
Id read a Baylan book tbh
fucking everything about this episode was so good
the music at the end got me so bad
so many amazing moments though
I like how the sentiment of those posting has gone from “that was crap” 45 minutes after the episode went live to now the opposite.
I think the contrast between people saying the entire show was the worst thing to ever be made and the people saying it's their favorite Disney Star Wars project yet is pretty hilarious
I feel like a lot of the people hating on the show to an extreme extent just want any reason to hate new SW content
Hey I said I liked it
tbh they might wanna do movies for a bit, the Disney model of shows is polarizing and a loss leader if their streaming numbers are any indication
Skeleton crew gonna be great
Damn, the Midnight Boys — who have done a really good job of pulling me back to center week-after-week with their enthusiasm — are going in on this finale. They all hated it.
I’m angry
They bring up a good/funny point about how Sabine's force antics during "the jump!" kind of undermine Ezra's "the force is my ally" moment from last week. The show puts a spotlight on Ezra's confidence in his abilities with the force, only to require him to have a pep talk from a new force user to do anything? Just really weird/poor writing.
Angry at how stupid everyone is especially this tactical genius
I really want to understand the clock management of this episode because when Super Admiral says "it's impossible for them to catch us now", that should've been it. And yet Ezra literally gets onboard the ship.
I still can't get over Sabine being a force user — I genuinely believe that is a disservice to her as a character. It's like the show is saying "you can only be interesting if you're a Jedi" and that is boring. But also: why isn't everyone force pushing their friends around?
Huyang literally says she doesn't have it, and by the end of the season she is coaching Ezra. I hate it.
YOU JUST GOT CONFIRMSTION TAHT THEIR SHUTTLE WENT DOWN, SEND TWO MORE TIES TO FINISH THEM OFF?!
Send int the GROUND TROOPS?!?!?!
WHAAAAAT?!
You know how they closed the doors on the zombie troops? (Called it bottle, fuck you) how bout closing all the doors in the tower to slow down the Jedi?
I would say almost all the people in this channel who have been having issues with Ahsoka like Andor… so.. not really true.
I remain shocked at how nonchalant everyone was with Sabine’s terrible plan of “just send the ship into them”
With the situation they were in, that was fine for me
But like, they fixed that shit SO FAST
There’s just no stakes for any of this
And crates full of dead stormies. Not really a mystery
Tbh the pacing on the climb was insane if you think about how tall that obelisk was
It was like triple the size of any on earth lol
It felt kind of Raiders of the Lost Ark in that sense. They could’ve just stayed with Huyang and then flown together. Nothing would’ve changed.
But that’s picking nits for me tbh
I don’t think it’s a nitpick because Thrawn literally says it’s impossible for them to catch up. And then they do, after climbing the tallest tower ever.
The characters in this show continually undermine their own statements
I mean I think it’s supposed to be about Ahsoka and the good guys triumphing I’m that moment but it does undercut thrawn as a tactician
Another instance of shoot to kill Ahsoka, except when you completely surround her. Then hold your fire
The writing in this show is so fucking dumb
What power did Morgan get? A cool blade for 30 seconds
That was a waste of time
I was listening to a podcast about the creator and how Gareth Edwards is cool visually but bad writing and I feel like that’s the case here. Filoni needs someone else to write the scripts
Why not use those minutes to explain why the Nightsisters are such devout followers of Thrawn and make them more fully formed
I learned next to nothing about Morgan
She didn’t matter at all
And then the silent antagonists from Bayland and Shin
100% – and he is also in the wrong weight class with his skill set. I think if this is a Saturday morning cartoon it’s all fine.
When you apply this level of garbage to live action it shows the blemishes even more
I cannot believe we only got 20-seconds of them in the finale
They should’ve been in the fight with Ezra and Sabine on top of the tower instead of two NPCs we don’t care about
Close the loop on that
Guess they gotta give Ahsoka and Sabine something to do while stranded
Does this finale make the Rebels finale worse? Like if you were to binge the two, Ezra's big sacrifice leads to him doing nothing for 12-years and then unceremoniously coming back to the og galaxy, without ever having to engage with Sabine re: her undoing his big moment
I mean look, we can argue that 10 years of thrawnless peace was worth it
So imo it’s not a huge impact. I’m assuming Ezra has already worked out what was done to get him free
He’s just happy to be home, no matter the cost
Assuming Ezra knows anything is giving the show a massive amount of leniency.
I want bagel to give the same level of critical thought to Young Jedi Adventures
my biggest complaint is we introduced new characters for them to ultimately be single fight fodder, and that we'll basically get nothing for 1.5-2 years, also they completely wasted shin and Baylen in the finale
I get that had no way of knowing he'd pass away but damn, to introduce them and do basically nothing with them all season is a choice

Aside from showing how flawed RT is as a platform, those aren't even accurate? Finale is currently at 86%
The tweet is from 3 hours ago so
Enoch my beloved
I'm kind of surprised we didn't get a no helmet shot of Enoch. I wonder if Wes Chatham was even on set.
wait that was wes Chatham? ugh more wasted potential
They’re not dead yet(or are they?). Well they’re still walking and talking
My theory is that most of them are reanimated
But the 3 witches don’t have enough power on that planet to revive all the coffins in the Star destroyer, hence dathomir
Nighsister zombies yo
Eh kinda lame
This season felt like all setup for next season
Also some of the gang vs troopers needs a little better editing
Baylan and Shin being like half a character arc is annoying too
Also Thrawn is gonna need more than just Night Troopers, cause you can't have an empire run by zombies
A next season that may or may not even happen
It's also kinda weird that Ahsoka's character arc this season gets wrapped up in like episode 5/6
This definitely shouldve been a longer season or use it's time to develop stuff more
One of my podcasts said it best in that if you’re going to eat so much time with action, it better be A+ — and outside of episode 5 it was relatively lackluster.
The show needed more substance and less surface-level enjoyment
Also indefensible how they gave up on Shin and Baylan
Ahsoka, Sabine, and Ezra fighting an undead army of Stormtroopers to escape from a planet in a completely different galaxy is exactly the type of Star Wars I love.
I love when things get weird and honestly pretty scary within this galaxy. It’s opened a whole new side to help…

i should have clarified but I was thinking of the RT reviews I read when I wrote this, not this channel. people in this channel have a lot of valid criticisms on the show
That's fair - I don't read RT lol
This is how it should’ve been tbh
They built up a ton of great stakes, it just felt like they needed to put a little more care into how everything worked (which is far from the creatives’ fault)
So wait, the theory is all the coffins is of nightsisters? (Why am I getting a feeling of MCU Agatha and adding a whole bunch of witches into the Star Wars Universe?)
Witches have been there since clone wars. They just have slowly been dying off
That’s my theory. I think Dathomir is going to be the next hot topic. We’ve already got a glimpse in fallen order. I haven’t played Jedi survivor yet
You can thank general grevious for those witches being killed
“As if billions of voices cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced”
“Yeah but it’s the new republic so who cares”
"Ezra is home though 🤗 "
They are where the force dictates they be
Season 2 setup
Great job making magic @shadow oak!
Mickey is promoting you to level 33 !
Honestly can’t believe how hard the finale fumbled shin
Like have her go back with Thrawn at least
(that remains an all-time Hamill tweet IMO)
She'll paint them a Turtle Mural too
will say a little dissapointed with the lack of Sabine in helmet+jetpack and duking it out mandalorian style
but they probably didnt do that much cause we got 3 seasons of that
I wonder what happened to her jetpack
She forgot it on the counter at home.
She did leave in a hurry
Whatever happened e wings btw 😕 That was one of the freshest and coolest starship designs introduced (in canon) in a long time
Hopefully we see them get some space action next time
Little note I never realized into someone told me that huyang the Droid is professor huyang from the clone wars 👀
I can't believe I missed the fact that Ezra's learning of Thrawn was off-screen in the finale? ☠️
I guess being part Jedi helps
Din just takes all the shots
Also I thought Ahsoka no longer considers herself a Jedi since she left the order, so why did she recruit an apprentice?
Speaking of that, was that an underlying set up from rebels? It completely went over my head if so
Baylan isn’t Jedi though
Around this time, Luke is around so isn’t there an order/council headed by him?
The sith don’t have standards. But the Jedi do
Yes
I could’ve sworn only Jedi can train someone
He trained grogu
what
I COULDVE SWORN

THE ANCIENT TEXTS
they are just force using mercenaries at this point
luke kills ezra
Technically Ahsoka isn’t a Jedi right
also yoda is a huge liar "you're the last jedi my boy" "uh..theres like at least 5 more out there wandering around"
I would agree since she left the order
theres always more conveniently
It's a big galaxy, and like they said, Jedi are good at hiding.
Well, the ones that survived are...
Survivorship bias, I guess.
doesn't change the fact that yoda was like "oh ho i haven't seen anyone lately, EVERYONES DEAD"
What about the sith rule of 2
well he kept himself isolated
Maybe he was the last Jedi that he knew about? That he could count on? That he could control?
I mean, Yoda's got a hell of a control issue.
Or just told him what he needed to know. There are logic loopholes for anything. It's a movie/game/tv show.
i'm just wondering: do they kill sabine and ezra before the sequel..orrrr
NO. It needs to make SENSE or it's STUPID and BAD.
it just feels weird to contradict the original movies, it takes away from Luke's story
Yoda wasn’t aware of the ahsoka TV series coming to Disney+ in august 2023
If they decided not to live as Jedi
He only knew he was in Star Wars the last jedi

👏 FROM 👏 A 👏 CERTAIN 👏 POINT 👏 OF 👏 VIEW 👏
Ahsoka basically doing this for Kanan
Finish her training
Is what I gathered
Also Huyang was never in Rebels
Wonder how they met then
space mother is mothering
#Ahsoka now streaming on Disney+.
(Previously recorded.)
MOTHER IS MOTHERING
bruh
Also I dislike him because there’s a bunch of practice videos of Hayden but no Ewan
The lazy FUCK

all the practice time was used up for the forest chase scene with Leia
But he hates Star Wars Obi

His uncle was WEDGE ANTILLES
Ewan talks about being a big fan of guest host Mike Birbiglia, traveling around the world on a motorcycle, fans knowing more about the Star Wars world than he does, watching himself in the Star Wars movies, his uncle starring in the original films, his new action figure, the trailer for “Obi-Wan Kenobi” on Disney+ dropping, and Disney & the Star...
Bruh literally rewatched them all before filming for Obi Wan
The entire interview is about it
Her pointy bits looks like pikachu ears
They were trying to give her longer head tails as a sign of getting older but iirc they were impractical for live action. It would’ve looked normal if Rosario was able to wear long ones too
yep, Shak Ti and other adult Torgruta have long lekku
This email is good and sums up what went wrong for me
My biggest problem with the Ahsoka finale.
I usually defend Star Wars fan service. I usually don’t find harm in fun references that reward fans. I DO think that you could watch Ahsoka without seeing Star Wars Rebels, they fill in the info you need when you need it quite well. Sure your investment would be much greater in these characters if yo...
Baylin stole hera Manuel Miranda’s forehead 😢
maybe she gets resurrected
She'll be a thorn in Ahsoka and Sabine's side if she does
If she does with the tower being utterly destroyed, I will eat a sock
I mean I don’t actually have any qualms with this, they clearly were unable to maneuver and would’ve gotten destroyed by the ties anyway
Fake fans smh
Idk it didn’t hit for me
I don’t think that Ezra’s sacrifice was in vain even though thrawn returned, there’s very likely no chance the rebellion succeeds if thrawn continues to be around
In universe explanation
It’s just one of those things in story writing that you don’t do. Don’t write yourself into a situation that requires something outrageous to get out of
They didn’t need that scene. Use that time wasted to reveal how Ezra got brought up to speed so we get his reaction about Thrawn
It shouldn’t even be a question as to how they use that time for emotional/dramatic return, and yet they went with “off screen the most important conversation of the show so we can have two idiot pilots do nothing”
IDK, like nothing holds up in the show if you think about it or even attach it to a previous conversation in another episode. Feels like he wrote these things years apart and just went with it.
ex. Thrawn says he took the most critical thing away from Ahsoka — Time — and that ended up being a hollow statement because not only were they literally turtle walking to his ship, they got there with time to spare if not for “and now…zombies!”
So the cool dialogue gets dumped on in the next episode because Filly can’t connect two thoughts
I don’t think that conversation is particularly interesting.
“Oh hey how’d you get here?”
“Oh I gave the bad guys the coordinates and hitched a ride to get you, it’s okay though we beat the empire like 4 years ago and we have a great new republic now.”
“Aw sweet let’s stop thrawn and head home”
I agree with this portion, I think we definitely could’ve seen some more wrenches on Thrawn’s side thrown
Like maybe shin comes back and she decides to fight them? Lol
There’s definitely literally 0 suspense throughout the whole episode
For Ezra to be an actual character he deserves a dramatic and/or emotional response to that, though. Without it, he is relatively thin as someone we should care about.
I get that he is a cheerful dude, but given the stakes of the show it really just doesn't work for someone to constantly be like "hey it's cool it's going to work out!"
And maybe that's the saturday morning cartoon aspect that I'll forever bump up against, but I felt like we had a platform for something really neat and it was taken away from us.
There’s been so many other shows that’s done a ticking clock time pressure that do it really well
Shin and Baylan absolutely should've been part of the tower duel. Huge miss IMO.
They were busy starting their own shows
Yeah unfortunately that’s literally him in rebels
I mean journeys
I mean shin fights thrawn/night sisters lol
Morgan being the big bad again felt flat, and they didn't do enough with her throughout the season for that rematch to feel significant. Not in the same way a rematch scenario with Ahsoka/Baylan and Sabine/Shin would be. And it wouldn't evne necessarily need to be a saber fight. Let it be a battle of will and Talk No Jutsu about what's right and what has to be done.
You know what the real bummer is though @trim meadow — I feel like if this show goes more paint-by-the-numbers than trying to do its own thing, it's a better product. And that's counter-intuitive because we definitely want something more unique.
But like 99% of the nitpicks podcasts/twitter/me/you have are easily solved with little basic tv tweaks
Yeah I don’t disagree
Needed more time/some else outside his circle to refine the story
The action was also weirdly inconsistent
You got great scenes like the first ambush on the planet that ahsoka finds the map
Then you get whatever the fuck happened this last two episodes
Oh god
it turns out he was just explaining he was a Yoda species on his first day and then they introduced him at the company party as Yoda and he never corrected them
Knowing Filoni it probably had a high chance of happening.
“You’re The Mandalorian! And that’s Baby Yoda!”
Hate to break your heart, but Andor’s finale was 17% longer and 674 is 17% more minutes.

was going to say, seems to be a factor of total runtime
Are those even single episode numbers? Or just total minutes of any episode for the week?
Ahsoka has easily "higher" viewership if I decide to use it as all viewers watched every episode that week 575/8 > 674/12
Not likely, but neither is assuming all viewers only watched one episode one time
Disney+ has incredibly low replay numbers so it’s best to treat it as related to the new episode.
Anecdotal, but I know I'm not alone that I often watch two episodes within a one week period.
Fair enough, though, that the majority of views are just that week's episode and not a mass of people binging. Especially if the numbers are fairly linear week to week.
