#Ahsoka

Yeah but plenty of people survived. We didn't know if they did or not and apparently Ahsoka had something to do with it
Baylan: Your family died on Mandalore because your Master didn’t trust you.
So Sabine associates Ahsoka with the death of her family.
Its not this type of bad mixing though, it goes from quiet to not in like seconds its weird.
The most likely reason I can think of right now of associating Ahsoka with the bombings is she lead the fight to free mandalore originally, but ultimately was involved with leaving mandalore to Bo-Katan. Who surrenders to Moff
Ahsoka had nothing to do with that though
I mean in Sabine’s eyes maybe?
It’s not something that’s fully been played out or shown so everything at this point is speculation
I know it's been a while since i watched rebels but Ahsoka wasn't really hanging around when Sabine gave bo-katan the dark saber
That was her decision all on her own
All we know is that Ahsoka helped originally free mandalore from Maul/Death Watch and has a connection with mandalore in that way.

!obi
That’s why I’m keeping my comments about Baylan to myself
I wonder how much of it was on purpose, since her, Ashoka, and Sabine all seem kinda drab compared to rebels, but it’s been like 10 years
I dunno why I bother looking at these to see if PDX is included, I just get salty when it isn't and I see Boston lol
Whoooo
I managed to get them for assembly
@silver violet
Yup
That’s why I’m gonna try to go
It was giving me a really hard time logging in but I managed to get it
Yeah if it’s confirmed 10 years since rebels, we have no idea what happened between Sabine and Ahsoka
Watch them not reveal why by the end of S1
👏 it 👏 could 👏 be 👏 a 👏 book 👏
No thanks
It's sad that anything involving Baylan after this will only be books or comics.

Considering this myself for assembly..just not sure I wanna risk a theater the week before we head to DLR
yeah you talked me into it
Wear a mask the whole time and don't eat
That’s what I do and I’ve been fine at both theaters and conventions
Specifically a n95 mask
It has your location btw if you care
WHERE’S OBI
Who’s the actor in that picture
Hopefully someone here is old enough to know what he did last summer
🤓 👆 The WBW is not a multiverse and it's not typical time travel
honeestly tho, i think if theyre very reserved with WBW I think it could be very interesting. Like keep it mystical as a showing that the force is beyond time not just a place to time travel.
it's an excuse to keep following the same handful of star wars characters instead of exploring the billion other possibilities of the universe
came across a Filoni clip where he mention WBW is in season 1 of rebels, its like the void Ezra is in when he talks to yoda,, ezra doesnt realize hes using the WBW. So it seems like WBW isnt just time travel, its where the force connects between space and time
Someone said this on one of the recap podcasts and it resonates with me (a boomer): the force was more interesting when it was undefined
The more that gets added to it, the less interesting it becomes. The WBW is cool in theory but to your point, it's really just a plot mechanic to do whatever they want (which is why the multiverse is a thing)
So even though it's not technically a multiverse, they are both solutions to a similar problem
to paraphrase Dr. Spaceman: Science The Force is whatever we want it to be
What an amazing character he was
Doesn't she have a terrible non-Marvel track record?
Multiverse Anakin played by Jake Lloyd
nahhhh 💀
Where did you draw the line
Probably around there
I don’t even care, I’m unwell
I am UNWELL
Because it is
watch the box office explode
I think it’s pretty bad that i had to look up WBW. I did not know that Ahsoka died from that blow
It definitely did not look like that should’ve killed her
How the hell are non rebel watchers supposed to understand that?
WBW does not mean that she died though
The WBW is literally portals
So Ezra found a portal right
And pulled Ahsoka through a portal when she was fighting with Vader
But then Ahsoka returned to that same spot in time after the temple fell after the fight
Ezra also spoke with yoda in the WBW but yoda was projecting in
Gonna reread all this
And all about Mortis again
We don’t know how anakin is there right now
Look, y’all had time to watch rebels when you found out this was a direct sequel to rebels

I’m so used to Disney Star Wars that I was literally thinking that nothing happened to Ahsoka at the end. Cus he clearly hits her lightsaber, and she falls off
Like all in all I think it’s too early to tell what exactly is going on with WBW in Ahsoka we just know she’s there
And I’m thinking, she’s a jedi so she’ll land softly at the bottom
But no we were supposed to see that as life threatening
Yeah, I didn’t actually think he looked awful compared to her all things considered with the lighting
my first instinctive reaction was that flashback Ani in Kenobi looked better
probably because that was actually Hayden Christensen and not visibly full CGI
he did, yes. still preferable to plastic face imo
Best I can do is Luuke
that's a new character right?
I think it’s a mixture of lighting and CGI. But my initial reaction was that it didn’t look good.
Fell in that bathroom.
Look closer.
It looks fine as a still screenshot but it’s jarring when he makes facial expressions
Just like Luke and all the other de aged people
Twilight vibes
I mean I guess it could be worse re: age — exhibit 1: Stranger Things.
They're going to be 47 by the time Season 5 comes out and they're supposed to be in 9th grade?
Anakin Hayden at least passes as a Euphoria-level teen.
I'm guessing WBW is also where force ghosts go when Jedi die or something like that, hence Anakin missing a scar, looking younger, and his line about not expecting to see Ahsoka yet
I think the scar is there, just hard to see because of the lighting being on the other side.
Yeah scar is there
Here's a thought: maybe just chop her head off when she isn't looking at or paying attention to you?
Also: glad to know that being stabbed by a lightsaber not only makes you more nimble, but a better fighter
Being the worst fighters in the universe. It's like poetry.
excuse me did you miss her training montage
bagel i got a spoiler for you. || it's because the writing is bad. ||
I mean, it's god tier if it's on Disney XD
I need to search chat for why Sabine's hand is fine holding the snitch?
Sabine has trained with a saber before though? She trained with kanan with the darksaber.
So like her training with Ahsoka is not the first time she’s ever held a saber.
Bagel didn't say that was her first time training. Bagel was pointing out that she got fucking washed and almost died and basically came back almost immediately stronger lol
He's talking about the linear narrative, she didn't do anything to particularly level up in the mean time
Shin is still the same boss level and Sabine, in Bagel's opinion, did not level up.
There wasn't enough in the show to show that.
Like you don't have to agree with that, but that's the POV.
Exactly. She gets wasted in episode 1 -- and is alive for no reason other than this is a kid's show -- and then we see her do literally one training montage that amounts to "just got to, like, y'know, feel it dude" and now we're in rematch territory and she is better?
But, like, forget all of that. She was stabbed! She should be out for a period of time and not doing back flips to dodge a lightsaber.
My opinion is that it's a flaw in the writing or perhaps the pacing. If I was being charitable I would say more time has passed than is apparent and her bond with Ahsoka is helping her out, but tbh I think that's too generous a reading.
Even like, Harry Potter, shows more growth as a wizard through out the books. Idk.
Wouldn't the counter to that be that Shin is also training?
The last two episodes training also showed her learning to overcome her impulsiveness but
That comes with her being mandalorian in her ways of fighting
She was learning to keep a level head
Where/when?
That was the entire point of her trainings that they showed?
Outside of the mask training session we haven't seen anything else
How is that in itself enough to overcome Shin who is presumably also doing things to get better
Also just going to say, if you don't watch Clone Wars, the Mandalorians just constantly get their shit pushed in in live action. Boba Fett included.
The clan is a bunch of goons in s3.
CGAnakin kept reminding me of someone and I finally remembered who
JT from "The Barry Gibb Talk Show" SNL skit
I am finally watching this week's and you can tell the action is just better directed in this one
Peter Ramsey my GOAT
if im gonna commit myself to watching this slop because this is my favorite franchise then by god im gonna find things to like about it
It’s def the best action scenes yet, agreed
each subsequent episode has been better than the last so far
Even though I know this is leading to world between worlds which is my least favorite new canon lore (outside of the general status quo reset JJ forced in TFA)
which I was fucking praying we wouldnt do but
filoni gonna filoni
he ran out of characters to force in
had to resort to whole locations and concepts
The choreo was better than the last few, but the screenshots from above make me lose steam
Very 90s action movie “I’m only going to try and kill you while you’re trying to kill me”
I can excuse Sabine being a shit fighter because she's just a girlfailure in this one
Ahsoka on the other hand
🤷♂️
Simply sneaking on and stowing away on the enemy ship is so yesterday. Just have someone question their morals and surrender to get them aboard while the other takes a shortcut between space.
Ahsoka on Star Tours is totally going to take us to whatever planet Ezra and Thrawn are on.
Or Purrgil scene
Stop by world between worlds
Chopper made an appearance on stage this morning at @DisneyD23 #DestinationD23
The Star Wars multiverse is just undoing the sequels
The casuals will be confused as hell if they go that route
Even for me its getting complicated since now games and parks are part of the timeline
Previews for this next episode are insane.

I am an Admiral Emperor Palpatine! I am an Admiral!
The Good Admiral
Early reactions are in from the theater screenings of Ahsoka Episode 5: Thrawnormal Activity
Dave is 100% showing up at The Grove tonight to KO the screening with a “My Story” segment
will be very curious if what i read about tonight's episode ||the kid from Barbie playing Clone Wars-era Ahsoka in flashbacks|| pans out
In line now for the event.

Some drove from Maine and New Hampshire
So far I’ve seen one person in Jedi robes and one person in full anakin cosplay
I cancelled, wasn't going to be able to make it there in time, assuming it's a big group already
Oh man
We have someone in Ahsoka cosplay but not painted
She does have a painted face though
They have tables out in front of our theatre

I saw a few people walk by in more robes
rip lol
Sounds like they’re starting to count the line. I’m assuming it’s capacity now.

Have they seated you yet?
Regular theater or like Dolby/IMAX?
We get the fancy Dolby Atmos theater, I think.
So this is just the newest episode of Ahsoka?
Yep.
Why are y’all doing this
You get to see it one hour early.
I knew bottle was gonna say that
There ain’t no other way he god
Goes for any other reason
Sounds like London has already seen the episode, so people are being advised to stay off social media for spoilers.
It should be a nice viewing, I think.
I’m just reading to be seating.
Hearing people talking around me constantly is beyond fucking exhausting.
Man, remember when seating for movies was free-for-all?
We’re… 30 people back?
Oh yeah. They told me we’d be fine
What a turn out
We’re seated.
One of the people at the event took a picture of @waxen field.
We also got a free drink and popcorn. And some QR code with Ashoka’s face on it.
Broke ass company.
Did you get anything, @spiral matrix?
Oof. They didn’t send someone down the line to precount?
Oh, that’s smart.
Sell your extra spots.
RIPPPPPP.
Noice.
What time are the screenings
Starts at 8pm
Well in that case, it’s muting time
It’s east coast friendly
Ooo… we got posters too, but at the end.
But in true fashion, idiots can’t comprehend instructions and immediately get out of their seats to grab one.

Are people sitting on the floor/aisle then?
I mean that’s what happens at all of these. It sucks but it happens
oof
welcome to screeners tbh
It’s a limited event. Have to show up early.
it says very obviously they over sell it and to arrive early, complain on Twitter all you want tho
Episode was fucking baller, though.
It’s Disney’s fault for checks notes following standard procedure
Definitely fanservice in this one.
Holy shit that episode
Okay so ||this girl from Barbie|| is blowing the fuck up I guess
God he sounds so aggressively Canadian
As soon as the clone wars scenes started I may have lost my shit
Whale x squid x manta ray.
Thrawn and Ezra are 100% only in the last episode though now
This is 8 right?
Yeah this was 5 of 8 today
We still have 3 more to go
I cannot believe they made the elf important too
Our theatre erupted in cheers when they said Kanan’s name

Yup
Snips got lots of cheers too
Like him just calling her snips
When ahsoka leaned towards Huyang I though she was gonna kiss him for some reason
Also we officially in our Ahsoka the Grey phase
Overheard in Bellamy’s apartment after Episode 5:
“He got me,” Bellamy said of Filoni’s dunk over him. "That f***ing Filoni boomed me."
Bellamy added, “He’s so good,” repeating it four times.
I read last night the kid from Barbie would be young Ahsoka but it was messing me up to have clone wars Ahsoka actually sound her age instead of Ashley Eckstein
It's thing you remember but I liked it
"This is the clone wars!"
Huyang the only character in this with good dialogue and convincing performance
thats how i felt lmao
i fell for the fanservice for once
well that was great, I wanted thrawn but live action clone wars scenes were fantastic, also Hayden or whomever did the fighting nailed some nice moves in the fight
this episode ranks as one of the highest star wars things for me
first time they made a physical phase 1 suit
It’s crazy that the kid from Barbie is having such a great career moment right now and it’s all gonna crash and burn because of Borderlands
Message of the week: “win your fucking 1v1s you won’t turn into Vader 2”

I love when star war
Dave retconning the tube top to hell where it belongs is once again the most valid thing he has EVER done
244
I forgot how young her and anakin were
so this makes 3 deaths for ahsoka
This
Also, Hera’s lekku bouncing around like the rubber that it is is very distracting.
I noticed that too lol
they need weight, it looks pretty ridiculous and ruined her otherwise decent scene this episode
My cosplay friends all said this would happen and they’re all shitting on people complaining about this.
You cannot weigh them down without risking the integrity of the build, the actors body, etc
There’s a reason that every cosplayer’s lekku bounce and move and they’re made lightweight
oh yeah not saying its easy, there's practical concerns when translating it to live action
there was only one shot where i found it particularly distracting, it's a non-issue really
"Shitting on people" who expect a billion dollar company to figure out how to build a functional costume — on a major show and property — is an interesting position to take.
I mean, she’s an global award winning cosplayer who has experience with working with this type of material and lots of companies pay her but okay
I think Filoni likes the bounce - trying to give her that teenage pigtail energy
well im not bother by it
This is a completely different medium than cosplay and Filoni/crew can block each individual shot for maximum quality. "Shitting on people" who brush up against that feels dismissive. But okay 🥰
It's, like, literally okay to criticize things we enjoy. Not everything is an attack on the product.
I haven't even watched the episode yet 🤡
I mean, a lot of cosplayers, my friends included, use professional television grade materials for their cosplays.
I'm not refuting the quality of your friend's work. I'm sure it's amazing.
yes plenty
I'm pointing out that in the production of an episode they have effectively an unlimited budget and lots of time to nail a shot in a way they consider to be perfect.
Lmao no
idk, if you've seen the prequels its a pretty cool look at the clone wars
It was literally Darrol who made the lekku comment
Why are you freaking out at bagel
Of course! I just though maybe they’d put a little bit of the vfx budget into it so you don’t get situations like last night where it just keeps bouncing, especially in the profile view.
I didn’t have an issue with Lekku and haven’t really said anything.
I didn’t like the episode, but did I say that? No. I’ve been leaving it alone.
The structure of a piece such as lekku make it difficult to weigh it down and not injure the performers neck or even the piece itself.
I've been parroting criticism from self-identified super fans
Even though I made my comment, I wasn’t saying it as if it ruined the show. I just expected them to find some way to not have them bouncing like that moment. It was intended as a quick offhand observation. Nothing more
TBH I don't see what's wrong with questioning a product I/we have interest in. This isn't blind hate — there are things that work in this show and things that don't and it's okay to acknowledge that.
Also it's not like I'm the only person in the universe who feels slighted by how exclusive this show can feel at times. It's basically the number one running criticism of it and it's completely warranted given how the product is marketed.
Would wrapping my thoughts in CRYING SCREAMING THROWING UP allow me to join the discourse in a meaningful way? It feels weird to have to bend the knee in order to try and kickstart a conversation.
I actively want to speak about this show with people here and IMO the fun of digesting content is breaking it down + building it back up.
Like I legit listen to 3-hour podcasts about this thing to try and understand better what's going on 😂
And TBH the way you all speak about/explain moments is often more interesting than how it's presented. So that's pretty cool.
Because it's valid criticism? Conversely when everyone chats about things that were dope, it brings my mood up. Isn't that a net positive?
I think everything has been dope. Every single minute. So
It’s a fun Star Wars show I just want to talk about these characters and stories I like and not over analyze why the physics on a prop is bad or why a plot hole shot my grandfather
Slight over exaggeration, but I also just am trying to enjoy it and think it's been better than half the other seasons of SW product. Only beat by Andor and Mando S1, maybe Mando S2
Star Wars can never win everyone and this show is doing great riding the line
(character/plot wise)
Example: Too many new characters people don't care. Not enough new characters people are bored of same old.
I’ve been avoiding conversation here because it seems like when I do try and get excited with it with like @unreal bay the conversation immediately turns sour
I’m enjoying the show. I’m sure I could have enjoyed it more if I watch Rebels, but the product as it is now works for me.
Vu 🤝 Me
Vu just turns to me and asks me to explain what’s going on
I just sit blissfully ignorant
The only things I knew about Rebels are presented in the show repeatedly
me blissfully watching in ignorance
But after that episode?
https://i.imgur.com/ZgfMcqM.gifv
I will say last night, in the theatre that vu enjoyed those clone wars scenes just as much as I did
So did every nerd in the joint.
I'm jelly of theater viewing
Dude. I don’t know what type of theatre bottle got, but we were Dolby

I was so glad we were Dolby over our tv at home man
Get me some Dolby Atmos at home.
OBI
Also
if dave filoni could be nominated for any of his shots, it's this one
#Ahsoka #AhsokaSpoilers
This scene literally caused Vu to audibly shout in the theatre. He never does that.
SO GOOD
That Anakin/Vader flash tho! 😮 Filoni never disappoints! What did you think of Episode 5 of Ahsoka?
#ahsoka #AhsokaTano #starwars
Live footage of @silver violet in the theatre last night

Nah that wasn’t a force ghost
I'd wager...a living embodiment of the force taking the form of Anakin?
Discussing something isn't arguing, though. The framing of this topic is as if I'm leaping at people's throats over lightsaber colors, when in reality it's posting memes or asking why Sabine didn't chop Shin's head off when she wasn't looking.
Oh well
I’m thinking this episode showed it as a multilayered force element. In this context it was almost like purgatory, a space just outside the normal realm within the force. The world between worlds we saw before was similar but with clear points that connect to the universe throughout time. It likely adapts to what the force seems the person needs at the time. And yes, force ghosts probably hang out there.
I agree
I think world between worlds was some fuckshit in rebels
But it worked here
Yeah. I liked the rebels showing of it but it can be a real easy out if used in most cases. It works better as just a force hang out space even if it’s also used to connect points, not time, similar to hyperspace like the lothwolves can do.
I loosely agree with this. I think that’s why Anakin said they were going to start over. Because Ahsoka needed this lesson and she wasn’t learning.
I’m pretty sure this is it. The whole live or die thing is basically telling her to choose between the light and dark and not stay where she is inbetween, which is why she comes back as ahsoka the white
Your empire?!
Funniest clip ever
Buddy do I have news for you
5 episodes in and Chopper hasn't committed a single war crime. More like Dave Bologna.
238
The only valid criticism
For what it’s worth chopper and Jason going back and forth in the background of the intercom was cute
I am on my lunch break
They are working on my laptop
Do I watch the episode again

cowards didnt want to show the slightly different green shoto blade
Finally a good fucking episode
like holy shit the cinematography was exponentially better than the last 4 episodes
the cinematography was amazing
this is some of the best acting i've seen from Hayden
YAeah i noticed the rubbery lekku, but only thought about it for a minute becuase all the tight as fuck fights
I think i only noticed it because other people pointed it out.
to an extent, it might be unavoidable just because they can't be too heavy
im assuming they're foam
plot/cinematography/acting wise, it was great
this is exactly what i wanted and needed from Ahsoka. I wanted the conflict to be resolved with her past with Anakin
I think there will probably be a lot of other great moments
im literally obsessed, a part of me wants to wait for at least two episodes to come out before I watch it again, but that's so unrealistic
Wild theory: The scene of Grogu and Mando are us seeing #Ahsoka & #Huyang being transported to the New Galaxy.
At first glance Grogu seems curious about them, but now I think it’s more so he sensing Ahsoka the White.
He would know her touch in the force as they’ve connected.
Oh shit we did vaguely see purgills in Mando didn’t we
I’m sort of convinced that they should just stick with one director for these shows
The difference in quality between episodes is so fucking jarring
What is this, Visions 3?
I need him
The more I watch the new republic, the more I hate them
Hence why Leia broke off and created a resistance
its almost like the empire did nothing wrong
Republic was there to run things. The Resistance was there to clean up the messes.
God that series of flashbacks
So because of exhaustion just watched ending of episode now. I love space whales tbh. Logic be damned. Good solid episode.
yeah i really like space whales, hyper space is a big thing, makes sense there would be creatures that take advantage of a part of the universe
Rewatching episode 5 and god damn it’s so good
I think you’re cool too
Clones Big W
Anakin looks good fighting lol
The money id pay for a clone wars movie
Other than subjugate millions of people and thousands of planets sure
That’s like clone battle
Filoni
Obi-Wan only had 1 director
*live action
Episode III then
Space battle was cool but that was it
Everything else was the clones killing the Jedi
Ooh I like this poster.
Yeah I kinda want it framed
They need to change the name of this show to Assohka
So many shots of butts, too much for my virgin eyes
That zigged when I thought it would zag.
Tbh the republic parts of the show are by far the weakest
I hope we see little of it going forward
They're working hard to make me not like the New Republic a whole lot.
i'm wondering if we don't see new republic until next series/movie....seems like a send off for Hera in last weeks
Zeb erasure
He’s gonna die a very painful death 🙏
zeb isn't in this one because he's off getting busy with kallus and disney doesn't wanna show that
I think they're saving their expensive CGI for the rangers spinoff or whatever its called now that its retooled
Disney is too afraid to show the gay inter species sex
zeb is gonna get Kallus pregnant somehow
It’s gotten very slightly better
Each episode is an improvement
My main issue remains that barely anything has happened despite how long each episode is
Legitimately this could’ve happened in like 2 episodes max
kinda interesting, slightly better each episode, dialogue treats you like youre incapable of understanding whats on screen
Ehhhh I kinda disagree. Latest episode definitely needed to be a full episode in itself.
1-4 could have been condensed to 2 eps
Like if they wanted to follow the marvel show structure and just do 6
1/2, 3/4, 5, etc
I also think they can make the episodes longer than 45 minutes but that’s just me
I don’t want that
I also think we didn’t need the republic side plot at all too
Filoni still hasn’t adjusted to being able to write episodes longer than 22 minutes that well
Just have hera come out, chopper and jacen do their thing
I think the villains so far have been severely underdeveloped, could've used the time in the first 4 episodes to flesh them out
Like they seem cool but we only know about them what we did from episode 1
Baylan got some interesting stuff in episode 4 when fighting Ahsoka, but it's likely all the supporting villains are gonna get dropped (development wise) once we see Thrawn
It’s a shame because Baylan is the most interesting villain Star Wars has had in a while and we’ll never see him again outside of comics
He hasn’t done anything yet though
He is interesting cause he is mysterious
It’s on them to get him past that
Yeah that was more of a dig against Emo Ren and Palpatine, Again
I mean true the standard is very low
Yeah I’m not really feeling Baylan, bowlcut girl or the witch
I want to know more of Baylan's backstory.
Well, they’re all probably about to be replaced by Blue Elon anyway
I want to know more about Baylan for totally normal reasons yes
That is not a bowl cut, it’s a bob
you're a bob
Tune in tonight for 48 minutes of Fennec Shand cleaning and zeroing the sight on her rifle.
Why is this so funny to me? She’s only done that like once
Time to mute the thread
9pm est right?
Yeah in one hour
Oop

Good episode but the initial hermit crab people scene really dragged me back into “oh yeah clone wars is literally made for kids” territory
I saw Robert Patrick.
I thought he looked a little better than he did in the trailer throughout the episode
Maybe I’m crazy but the scene with the star destroyer going over top the tower was kinda
I need someone to make fanart of that
Fr
The red eyes are still like glaring but of course that’s the point right.
For a second I thought the crab was Meebur Gascon species and was a both to freak out lol
Would be funny af if we did
Also mildly disappointing that we’re literally outside the known Galaxy and the only visual style guide written was apparently Planet Use The Volume
Also, Sabine is the worst rider ever. Let's just leave my giant scary beast right in the fucking middle of town square while it constantly licks its chops at the hermit crab people.
They spent all the VFX money this episode on the star destroyer
Also if the space whales come here to die
Also cool to see some depth with Baylan (even though I think we coulda used the time in the earlier episodes to do it)
Whats ahsoka’s exit strategy lmao
Thrawn won’t make it back unless they wanna pull off “Kylo Ren wasn’t the villain, it was actually Snoke, except it was actually Palpatine, except it was actually Thrawn”
They def think about the Roman empire every day
Kintsugi stormtroopers is a fuckin cool concept though, I love that
Steal the enemy hyperspace ship obvi
Although I’m also assuming she could give her coordinates to hera and get them to come to her as well as another back up?
TikTok trend asking people how often do they think about the Roman empire
Yes holy shit I loved it
Vu was asking why and I had to once again explain thrawn and rebels lore during the episode
Kintsugi troopers were indeed badass.

Smart move actually finding Ezra this week though
Otherwise there absolutely would have been a week of “Enoch is Ezra” discourse
I forgot Wes Chatham was going to be in this.
Live look at @waxen field and @silver violet:
https://media.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPTc5MGI3NjExd3R1eTIxYXhidzJyMXJmNzN5MzZucnVzNDgyemRuOGNpYzg5aXBqbyZlcD12MV9pbnRlcm5hbF9naWZfYnlfaWQmY3Q9Zw/LJQQhnnXpSHBmzYHQ1/giphy.gif
I had to rethink about timeline
Typical tactics. Know thy enemy.
So they kinda did pull a BoBF cause Ahsoka only in this in the beginning lol
Because I remembered there was a plot line in clone wars where thrawn met anakin right?
Crazy that the only other thing I (definitively) know Lars Mikkelsen from in live action is Sherlock
Seems so long ago
Isn’t that the book where they go to Galaxy’s Edge
I feel like I saw this play out on screen
But either way I'm surprised Thrawn doesn't know who Ahsoka is or her master

Ezra: "How did you get here?"
Sabine: https://media.giphy.com/media/9oF7EAvaFUOEU/giphy.gif
It is lmao
The novel is divided into two storylines. In the first storyline, Grand Admiral Thrawn and Darth Vader travel to investigate a disturbance in the Force on the planet Batuu,

THRAWN: Legacy.
Is there a Thrawn book about him taking a cruise on the Halcyon
unobtanium
Dathomiri relics probably.
The tik tok meme is specifically about how MEN are obsessed with the Roman Empire btw
Not people lol
I hated the bandit ambush and yea toti exposure taking too long
Blue Lon looks more like Robert Patrick
Also are these supposed to be like zombie troopers becuase dathomir witches
Feel like they zombies
“Mothers we need more magick”
Isn’t their whole schtick zombies
Also all that budget on the SD and it still looked really CG. Ezra looks good so far
Also when they said “I smell Jedi” or whatever I could’ve sworn baylan and bowlcut looked at each other uncomfortably since they were “Jedi”
Als Baylan may have THE widest shoulders that I’ve ever seen
I bet thrawns troopers are like Marrok. Fade to dust when they die
Ezra is literally a hermit
Tbh re: the baylan discussion. I don’t think it’s just that he’s mysterious. They touched upon it in the beginning of the series about him being former a Jedi. But he’s not quite a sith, and you can see that in some of his lines. Plus his apprentice being trained outside of the temple. He obviously has his own plans. I feel like if they had spent more time on it there’s a lot of potential there.
I hope the darkness lurking on the planet is Snoke
I really disliked Thrawns look. Hate it.
I feel like baylan’s thing might connect to the acolyte honestly
imo I think Thrawn is gonna be somewhat of a red herring, and whatever evil baylan and shin find is the real big bad
it can’t be snoke because snoke is cobb vanth
You know they’re gonna pull an avatar 2 with the space whales
That star destroyer is gonna get fucked up after they kill one whale
thats likely but theres only 2 episodes left
I don’t think the show is gonna end with a resolution that ties up every plot thread
Every episode makes me more insane
THRAWN WANTS TO GO BACK TO THE KNOWN GALAXY FOR HIS BOYFRIEND ELI VANTO
Kintsugi troopers
Also Thrawn goes to batuu twice once with Anakin and once as Vader
First time he’s still with the chiss and the second time he’s with the empire
Thrawn was one of the first people to put 2 and 2 together that Vader and Anakin were the same person
Live action chimera too
sounds like writers didnt read up on their synergy books smh
Sabine showing up to the crab village and Ezra is just sipping on Long Island
Nah it still fits that he doesn’t know Anakin was ahsoka’s master.
#Ahsoka Part 6 be like
I feel like tho if he figured out Vader, the right hand man of the emperor was Anakin, he'd do his research on him
Thank you usc
I got some definite Destiny vibes from this episode
The 3 Night Sisters on the platform with their orbs... felt like I was playing that Oryx raid.
one of these star wars shows should do the traditional "ABC show goes to disneyland" and film it at the soon-to-be-abandoned Starcruiser
Lego Star Wars Summer Special
Ezra definitely looks like his father, I was right about that
I haven’t gotten around to the episode yet but I just saw Ezra, can someone please stop Dave from buying any more colored contacts
Hey Sabine
During the episode, it was not something I noticed
They got his eyes perfectly though
Thrawn you kinda have to do contacts for and the images I’ve seen haven’t been bad
crying screaming throwing up how fucked up grown up Ezra has me
But here they would have been fine
My little baby boy a full ass adult now
I dunno, in the scene when they’re moving and not like a paused screenshot - I did not notice the eyes at all
I feel like it’s just uncanny valley of a live action actor having bright colored eyes
Like I said it was not something I even knew was an issue?
Maybe it was my tv but it was not obscene in our viewing at home
I will admit I did not have high hopes for Thrawn visually after that first teaser
Thankfully it wasn’t as bad as I expected
Yeah thrawn looked much better in the episode than he did in initial trailers
Thrawn voice is godly so it overrides the blue paint on the actor
He was a little pudgier than I was anticipating but you work with what you got right? Lol
I’m glad it ended up less Blue Elon Musk and more Blue Robert Patrick
The virgin "contacts" Ezra vs the chad "change his eye color to a mix of both animation and live action" Saw Guerra
Maybe he’s stress eating after having to contantly fight everything on a planet for 10 years
He’s eating the stormtroopers

I SAW
Elon vs Ben Stiller
This episode genuinely made me want BAYLAN: The Show
Eh. I appreciate that he knows that there’s always a rise and fall, but he’s doing the same thing lol
His speech came off as a little "we're about to reset the timeline" and that worries me, but otherwise I find that I'm increasingly intrigued by who he is and what he wants.
I mean, he may want to do that but it doesn't mean he will or even can.
Also curious how far Turtle Town was from Thrawn, because it seemed like Sabine traveled 5-miles and that was good enough to get answers. But I'll save that nitpick for another server.
IMO it's a big positive that he doesn't "just want power" — that feels fresh in an otherwise binary positioning of key players.
I also hope there are genuine stakes to what Sabine has undone. Actively rooting for Filoni to land that plane and make it matter.
jj abrams says it won't
Not in the macro narrative, but in the scope of this story
though i agree, i would very much like Filoni to nail the ending
If Ezra says “it’s all good” that’ll make most of this pointless
What are you guys insinuating about what Sabine had just undone?
I doubt he will lol
Ezra’s sacrifice
Downer talk: ||which tbh doesn’t really make sense anyway because it seemed like everyone knew about this galaxy and planet anyway so I don’t know||
The way they showed the arrival was very “ohhh, this place”
I didn’t really get that vibe at all
They knew the ring was whale bones and Baylan knew enough about the planet for it to not be a complete mystery to them
Not saying they could’ve known that’s where Thrawn was without being told, but they arrived at a planet that they all seemed to know about
My assumption was that elsbeth was relaying shit to baylan to get him onboard
He said it was like a Jedi urban legend though IIRC
true, but we don’t really know the context of that
The urban legend could’ve just been about the nightsisters having a homeworld in another galaxy or smthn
I guess we understood it differently. My takeaway from their arrival was that this wasn’t really a massive surprise to them (not Thrawn being there, but the planet/galaxy itself)
I don’t really understand why it would be a surprise
Because they had to get a map from an ancient temple and do all of this quirky stuff to activate it
And then it’s like “oh, it’s just that spot. Gotcha”
the map was how to get there
they knew the place existed but not how to get to it was my understanding
I read it differently but that has more to do with me and my understanding of the show/context. I don’t doubt that I missed something, but I thought new galaxy meant unknown 🤷♂️
I suppose there is some tonal confusion there, but the whole thing with peridea isn’t all that different from what TFA did with Luke
Hyperspace in the universe is tricky. They can know about another galaxy but not how to get there because you can't just point your ship at it and fly straight there in hyperspace.
They also needed to know exactly where in the other galaxy
I get that part
I get the sense that the new galaxy stuff will probably be explored more in like skeleton crew or something
My takeaway was moreso about that particular planet and how both Elsbeth and Baylan knew about it right on arrival.
I must've misunderstood that it was less about where exactly and more about, to your points, getting there
Which is to say I thought the map was pointing them to a place they didn't know existed
Right at 6:36 in the episode, when they arrive, both Elsbeth and Baylan know exactly where they are. That's why I was confused, because I thought they didn't know where they'd end up.
Probably native to the planet
Wait did you miss the part where the night sisters gave elesbeth visions??
Yes
But Baylan also dropped some heavy whale lore on us
I mean yeah he was a youngling and studied in the Jedi archives
Like I said above: I misunderstood the reason for the map/why it took so long to find him/them. I thought it was that they didn't know where they were going.
Which is why I was a little surprised that the moment they arrived they started exposition dumping.
Also, Elesbeth is a nightsister and this is a part of her heritage so of course she’s going to know about it?

If I asked you to Trondheim in Norway, would you know how to get there without a map or how to find a specific person in that city? You know Norway exists and you know the city exists but would you be able to just get there by hopping in a car?
Oh my god 👉 #1142178451416166601 message
Just making sure you understand why they needed a fucking map to make it to another galaxy
Y'all are being super defensive over something that is relatively silly.
I'm tired of the circling around. None of this matters. It's a show. Enjoy it or don't.
I am watching the show because I am interested and am willfully engaging and learning but instead of anyone actively willing to disuss, y'all are jumping down my throat.
And TBH I think it's a super fair question to ask why they needed the map when 2/3 of the bad guys we know so far had a very good understanding of where they were going to end up. From everything I had read up until that point it seemed like the question about Thrawn and Ezra was where, and not solely how to get there
I mean the protagonists didn’t know where (and by virtue of that neither does the audience)
Which is totally fair! Sabine was certainly suprised and I'm sure Ahoska will be as well.
But it had been set up since like mando season 2 that elsbeth knew that Thrawn was alive
The distinction between where and how to get there doesn’t really matter imo
Well I have incorrectly been assuming that the big problem is they didn't know where they were.
But also, I may know where something is but now how to get there.
Which is why you need a map.
that’s fair, but there’s nothing in the show that implies that
Clearly I missed it.
Before they got there though, Baylan didn’t know where they were going. When he saw it is when he knew.
He recognized it as a place from Jedi texts
He just knew them as stories
It's like us knowing about Atlantis as a city of the past lost to time and then finding ourselves there after a trip through the Bermuda Triangle.
The Jedi archives spoke of this place. It was the end of a migration route used by the star whales as they traversed the void from one galaxy to the other. The whales came here to die. Peridea is a graveyard.
He says that immediately upon arrival, which makes it feel like less of a story. Though I understand your point
(And he does add some "folk tales" later on)
I think I see what you’re saying, I kind of assumed that they didn’t know where Thrawn or Ezra was in the new galaxy, I thought maybe Thrawn and/or Ezra had gone to to other planets in the new galaxy, not just stayed in pretty much the same spot.
That's where I'm disconnected. I admittedly haven't watched Rebels, but from the recaps it seemed very much like they were completely off the known maps.
It feels way too easy how Sabine found Ezra
she literally walked for less than a day from Thrawns base
It's also kind of weird how Baylan and Shin couldn't keep up, given that Sabine was walking for a period of time.
It also felt super convenient that the dog things that Thrawn was training apparently just knew how to find Ezra instantly
maybe 6 hours at best for how long Sabine walked
like no way Ezra was THAT close and never got noticed
I was telling my friend they could've given her chase some weight by taking the second of those back-to-back "I'm walking!" shots and made it night
I’m guessing the idea though is that Thrawn wasn’t actually near this planet until they all just showed up
And the night sisters called him in
If he has a functional Destroyer
I feel like this could have been a hunt across the new galaxy but they condensed it down to save money
this plot does not feel like it should be squeezed into 8 episodes
Show some passage of time. Otherwise it feels weird that Thrawn would've never look around that perfectly-sized column and came across Ezra and/or Turtle Town
this exactly
But also I just don't get how Baylan and Shin were so far behind that they weren't immediately up on her when she finds Ezra.
I think they definitely could’ve added a few lines before they went there mentioning that possibility
I mean they left pretty much right after her
I think the show could have used an extra 2 or 3 episodes where they have to search other planets nearby
Turtle town moves around is the explanation the show gives
it would be more interesting if Ezra had left a trail of breadcrumbs for Sabine that they had to follow around for an episode or two
I think again, having some dialogue to indicate that Ezra moved there because of the activity would’ve helped a lot
instead of a short like 6 hour walk and “oh here’s Ezra”
Because I've been made to feel like an idiot, I've been trying to trace down when it becomes clearly known exactly where they are going, but based on this Collider article it seems like the map was also just a compass which pointed towards Peridea (and not exactly at it)
(sorry for the ping)
Nah I completely understand where you are coming from
Morgan could’ve said something like “this map holds the key to getting back to my mothers etc etc”
Then Baylen could’ve been “I thought peridea was a legend, etc etc”
Also that’ll foreshadow ahsoka using the whales to get there
100% — a little bit of dialogoue would've gone a long way
It really doesn’t need much, just need slightly more context
That's right, I forget about that part. And I'm sure we'll get some action in the next episode or two to showcase how Ezra has been protecting them in some way. Otherwise it just feels far too convenient.
Baylen does obliquely indicate that they are more interested in the “power” than tracking down Sabine and Ezra
Even so, they set chase pretty shortly after she does (like minutes after in episode-timing). To your earlier point: it's probably more cleanly resolved by giving Baylan a moment to make that speech prior to reaching the bandits. Definitely a nitpick.
Yeah, it’s just kinda messy
I fucking hated this and the bandit fight
Also, I wonder why Thrawn just decided to stay put on the one planet he arrived in for 10 years
It’s not like he doesn’t have a star destroyer at his disposal
It’s because the planet had a column that conveniently fit perfectly into the bottom of his ship
Hyperdrive damaged is an easy out
Ugh fine
Did they ever see combat
I thought their trial failed
I’d have to rewatch all of rebels
Also Thrawn not willing to spare even a few of his troopers makes me think there is something funny going on there
Like he has an army of Marroks or something and they can’t be too far from him?
Yeah the stuff he was moving looked a lot like coffins
I think it’s more he understands that their main objective is to escape, Ezra and Sabine is a sub objective
I just need Enoch to be on screen at all times because that is the coolest trooper ever
So it makes sense to not commit a bunch of resources
For real, dude is dope as hell
Even like, two though?
Reminder: We still don't have a ton of information on what happened during the time since Rebels ended and Thrawn/Ezra disappeared and also the dog thing didn't lead Sabine to Ezra, it led her to water where there happened to be the turtle people who knew Ezra.
Just some fodder
2 squads of 12 each?
2 troopers
Yeah they gotta tell us something about what he’s loading up on the ship
Id have to rewatch but iirc he said squads
Cause you’d think his goal would be to gtfo there as soon as possible
Yes they definitely asked for a lot and he said squads, but why not even offer just one or two individuals as blaster target practice. The whole thing seems a fishy
Something is definitely up
I had not considered that and am okay with that explanation
Point withdrawn
The compulsion to respond with ||withrawn|| is a clear indication that I am old and becoming cheesy 😦
I feel like the bandit fight was to supposed to be a visual metaphor for Sabine still being conflicted on whether she is a Jedi or Mando
I liked the bandit fight blocking
Which I hate that we know will eventually lead to the dialogue of: “I’m me”
“I am no Jedi” part 2
I was shocked about the nightsister lore and the fact the 3 are alive after 1st hearing about them from fallen order and clone wars.
What they're afraid of , I'm not sure I want to know 👀
That and didn’t Elisabeth or whatever say it’ll take 7 rotations to load shit

There is a lot of theories that a lot if not all those storm troopers were zombies.
thats my theory
Just like the inquisitor
thats why they look like theway they do and they mumblin
They're very cult like now
Not that they weren't before but the Thrawn chant was next level
This week's episode of the Disney+ Star Wars series took place almost entirely in a new galaxy as Morgan Elsbeth and Co. finally arrived at their destination of Peridea, an ancient homeworld of her ancestors, the Dathmiri. There, the villains (and their captive, Sabine) were greeted by the Great Mothers, who assured them the big bad character th...
clearly something wrong iwth them. the fuck did he say?
College humor level joke about spaceships and columns 👇
I just don’t know how we collectively feel about space-to-earth sex
We’re all consenting adults in a Ashoka show spoiler thread
“Show me on the star destroyer where you were touched.”
I saw a tik tok or something today that was like “the true space Jesus has arrived”
And it was a picture of Ezra
lol I thought the same thing when I saw ezra
he looks like Space Jesus
He is space jesus
Did you catch the part where the bandits deflected the lightsaber?
Listening to a pod now and this one dude — who loved the episode – cannot get over that. I don’t think I even registered it.
I just rewatched it and I don’t see any egregious errors, id say it’s mostly just disneyified stuff where she slashes someone and they go down but there’s no obvious slash mark
There’s a section where she clearly hits the end of one of the weapons and it doesn’t get cut but it’s offscreen and definitely doesn’t get deflected
It's not even that they deflected the lightsaber so much as blocked or she just hit them at an angle which didn't just cleanly slice through them. It's typical disneyfied stuff as oats said and nothing for someone to get their britches tied in a knot over.
I thought it was odd when he went on his mini rant, because it feels like social media would’ve been a vocal about something like that.
This is also another galaxy and another planet. Who knows what material those staffs are made of.
It's a lot of unknowns.
They did bring up something that might be a reason for a few of the editing/pacing issues, which is who knows what they had to cut around after Ray’s passing. Really is such a shame.
I'm not sure that would've played much of a part in it given he passed in May. I don't think reshoots for something like this would happen in the 4ish months between then and now. Not major ones at least. Either way, a great talent was lost and if the character isn't killed off in this season, it would've been cool to see more from him.
I think the editing/pacing is more Filoni's doing of wanting to keep things more suspensful and mysterious. I think the wrong idea was taken from the first season of Mando in this regard.
I think Filoni falls a little bit too in love with his creations at times. Like in Turtle Town, did we really need five minutes seeing how they live when we know with total certainty it’s just to delay the Ezra reveal?
I can understand why a decision like that is made, I just brush up against it.
I fucking loved the quiet part of the turtle town
It’s world building. These are creatures we haven’t seen before and I loved it.
Yeah, that is mostly world building whether it's needed or not.
I do want to know who makes their little turtle ascots and, like, what they were doing at the moment. But weekly comic strip style.
Well that’s what I’m getting at – I completely understand it, I personally just wanted maybe two minutes less of it.
But maybe it’ll hit harder this way when the turtles inevitably join the fight and kill like a dozen stormtroopers
Filoni better give us TMNT
The subtitles call them night troopers
That's what everyone started calling them. But seeing the one turn with the gold mask was creepy
Plus people are sorta of making references to the Roman empire as to the way they act and look 👀
Eh. More so that entire sequence just felt like a waste of time. Like a “ah fuck we forgot an action sequence in this episode”.
Also I just remembered that Thrawn gave Sabine back Ezra’s saber???
This tactical genius is a fucking moron
I feel you on that. In a vacuum I think I like it, but when paired up with Baylan and Shin somehow losing her trail and the continued "is she a gunslinger or samurai!" stuff it lost a little oomph for me.
“You helped me so I’ll help you, but I have no good reason to give you back your saber, but also I really shouldn’t since it’ll bite me in the ass.”
I mean if she got stabbed in the fucking stomach, then why you wasting time on us with bandits? All just so that Baylan can go, hey y’all it wasn’t us.
Ok so the Thrawn stuff is fascinating to me. I've heard so many conflicting takes that I don't know what I should think/how I should feel about the guy. There's a a chorus of folks saying that he doesn't care about Ezra and he put Baylan and Shin on a side quest to get them off the map.
Giving her the lightsaber is comical in that they are benefitting from her massively screwing up and handing over the map to Baylan. You'd think giving her the lightsaber would be playing a trap card on yourself.
I agree. I think Thrawn doesn’t give a shit about Ezra at this point and wants to deal with the remaining force users
He’s anti force
But….. not anti witches
Was just gonna say — how does that add up.
Also very much expecting Ezra to be Super Chirrut in his first battle sequence.
Wonder how much exposure Thrawn has had for the events he missed on the 10 years
“Oh btw, they built a second Death Star and palpatine is dead”
What if we get a flash of dark side from Ezra out of pure anger/disugst with what she has done
Rebels explored that with Ezra and he did not give in like Anakin.
Kill my dreams 😦
Genuine question: was there ever any romantic tension between Ezra and Sabine?
I got some "more than a brother/sister" vibes from Sabine when they first link up
So it was more Ezra liking her?
Yes that’s always been the case iirc
They were always a family unit on the ghost. The only real romantic tension was kanan/hera
At least that’s the way I viewed it
The show had it as more of a sibling bond but that may be because Ezra was younger at the start of Rebels
Interesting. Would it feel weird if they made it romantic at this point or is that a secret fan desire
Friendzoned.
Love how C-3PO dives in for the look
lmfao I’ve never noticed that
Learning the language of love.

Sis, I’m stuck on a witch planet
I somehow kept thinking something has to tie 7 into this and I realized a s2 might be happening
