Try these steps:
- Reverify integrity of game files
- Disable your NVIDIA V sync and G sync settings
- Update your drivers + check you have the min specs needed to run the game
- Force the game to start in Windowed mode (Right-click the game → Properties, Under Launch Options, enter: -windowed -noborder)
- Disconnect your second monitor and set the first one to 60Hz
- Turn off all overlays (Steam, NVIDIA...)
- Reinstall the game
i have no second monitor
you can ignore that step if its not applicable
I have the same issue. I have tried disabling V sync and Gsync. Drivers are updated. Game file integrity checked. Etc.
Holy shit I figured it out and fixed it, at least for me. My issue was in the nvidia control panel. Go to it, go to manage 3d settings, then program settings, then cult of the lamb, then change preferred refresh rate to application-controlled.
