Here’s some assorted tidbits abt her

• I originally was gonna have her kill nari but ultimately decided against it. However her and Naris relationship is very complicated/strained ( they’re not romantically involved btw )

• tbh she actually doesn’t rlly get along with most of the bishops in general outside of Leshy ( she and Heket are neutral leaning slightly towards negative, Kallamar is genuinely kinda scared of/intimadated by her and she likes to play into that to mess with him but doesn’t rlly have that much beef with him outside of it and with Shamura she does NOT like them for many reasons but acts cordial with them ( primarily because of their memory/brain issues ). She did heal all of the but mainly bc she knew she’d feel like an asshole otherwise

• does care for her flock but didn’t really want to be a cult leader in the first place. If not for the fact she would have been killed Solange would have given Nari the crown so she could leave the lands of the old faith and try to find a place to call home.

• moral code is a bit loose. She doesn’t exactly like to sacrifice their followers ( she much prefers ascension which she primarily does for her elderly followers ) but has little to no issue with sacrificing/killing off spies along with other things.

• I’m thinking of pairing her up with Aym

• voice claim is Sam Boole from psychonauts 2

• wanted to be an artist or baker

I also have an au where the stress of being a goddess gets to her so bad along with the trauma she’s endured that she decides to give the red crown to one of her disciples and fucks off

I haven’t decided if she goes on her own or if she convinces forneus/aym/baal and the knucklebones gang to come with

I wanna say she at least gets forneus aym/baal and maybe ratau to come with

The first three because 1. She’s very close to forneus and 2. Despite her relationship with Aym and Baal being a bit rocky at times bc of the events of the game ( moreso with Aym than Baal ) she does care for them and wants them ( + Forneus ) to experience a better life than what they’d get in the lands of old faith even under the new rule it has

And Ratau bc she sees him as a parental figure. She did try to convince the other members of the knucklebones gang to come with but they preferred to stay behind for reasons

Also the reason she doesn’t just give back the crown to Nari is bc she does NOT trust him with it anymore and believes he doesn’t deserve it

Some additional hc thingys for it

• bc she relinquishes the crown she is now mortal ( sorta continuing off the age where she died so she’d be in her 20s albeit a bit older mentally bc i hc that what happens when you relinquish/pass down the crown. Idk how old Ratau was exactly when he stopped being crownbearer but he continued aging after that ) I still don’t rlly have a proper timeframe for the events of cotl + the postgame though bc age works really weird gameplay wise

• I hc that most the world outside of lands of old faith is actually a lot more advanced ( think like 1910s/1920s and/or how the world of shrek is ) in terms of advancements with technology and inventions ( EDIT: im still figuring out the time period of most of the world outside of the lands of old faith, rn im thinking like late 1800s-1910 )

• adding onto that I personally hc that Solange isn’t the last sheep ever but the last sheep in the lands of old faith. When the genocide started some sheep decided to leave the lands of old faith ( it wasn’t easy but some did manage to survive and be integrated into civilization ) however sheep ( especially “purebred “ sheep ) are relatively rare compared to other species

Anyways more fun(?) facts abt Solange

• she doesn’t remember her family and large chunks of her past due to a mix of trauma and the red crowns influence. Sometimes she wonders if Solange is even their birth name or a name she gave herself.

• before she ended up being executed she was taken in by a farmer ( similar to the graphic novel ) and lived with him for a couple of years.
  It wasn’t exactly the best experience as the farmer only took Solange in so he could shear her wool due to being the last sheep. It didn’t help that he also made advances towards them and tried to get her to marry him ( for multiple reasons ). Eventually he ended up selling her out either for money like the graphic novel or she finally had enough and retaliated against him which resulted in him selling her out

• her preferred weapons are swords/daggers and her preferred curse is the hounds of fate or whatever that curse is called

• incredibly close with Ellena ie her very first follower and first disciple. Ellena was one of the first followers to be granted immortality ( and one of the few followers Solange canonically resurrects ). Ellena is also one of the few followers who sees Solange as more than just a goddess figure and as an actual person.

• not many people call Solange by her actual name ( both regarding followers, some of the npcs and the bishops ) She’s almost always referred to with either Godly/Divine terms, terms of endearment ( regarding Berith using terms like honey and gorgeous ), nicknames or simply just “ The Lamb “. The few people who do are Ratau, Ellena, Forneus ( and eventually Aym and Baal ) and very rarely the former bishops and Nari. ( Solange isn’t exactly happy about her actual name rarely being used but puts up with it )

So most of this is just my general lamb interpretation plus an au that I sorta abandoned but may come back to ( it isn’t rlly that important to my cotl canon outside of how I hc the world outside of the old faith is )

Some aspects are a little outdated bc I’m still figuring out her character but the stuff with the bishops is still pretty accurate

The basics of each bishop dynamic go as follows

LESHY: the only bishop she genuinely gets along with. They started bonding sometime after she freed him from purgatory/cleansed him due to the fact they were both mortals made into gods at relatively young ages. Another thing to mention is that when nari attacked leshy was the god equivalent of a teenager which horrifies Solange.
She doesn’t fully forgive him for everything he did but compared to the other bishops he’s the only one she actually likes

HEKET: relatively neutral but skews towards negative. ( Doesn’t help that my heket in my cult has the hot tempered trait which plays a minor factor into her and Solanges dynamic ) I do think they have some begrudging respect towards one another as they sorta share similar ideals regarding family values and all that but outside of that they don’t rlly like or care about each other

KALLAMAR: Kallamar is intimidated by Solange ( many reasons ) and Solange likes to play into that to mess with him but outside of their general dislike of him she doesn’t hold that many grudges against him.

SHAMURA: So out of all the bishops Solange dislikes them the most and holds the most grudges against them. The only reason she doesn’t treat them with outright hostility is due to their brain injury/memory problems. I haven’t rlly figured out Shamuras feelings towards Solange yet but they’re relatively cordial towards her

NARINDER: Solange despises him and regrets sparing him ( granted Nari would have ended up in her cult either way ). Out of all the bishops/former gods shes the most outwardly aggressive towards him and 90% of their interactions either are them arguing or it resulting in an argument/fight. It’s a very stark contrast to how Solange treats the rest of her cult ( and to some extent the other bishops but as I said before outside of her and Leshys relationship her being cordial/nice to the other bishops is a front she puts up so they don’t cause issues in her cult )

It wasn’t always like this because during her vesselhood she idolized him and prior to her execution Solange and her family were followers of Nari/worshipped Nari. She used to pray to him so all sheep that were killed would find peace in the afterlife

She knew that Nari didn’t promise her eternal life and honestly they didn’t even want that. Solange assumed that Nari would just make them mortal again and she was planning to leave the lands of the old faith.

Obviously that didn’t happen and she’s pissed off about it because while she cares about her flock they never wanted to be a cult leader in the first place and now as the flock grows more and more she’s barely keeping it together.
Because of that she takes most of her aggression out on Nari ( and spies but that’s a diff story all together )

Ok one last ramble before I actually get off my ass and finish Solanges updated ref but here’s the dynamics with Aym & Baal

AYM: ( Outside of the romance/shipping stuff ) so during Solanges vesselhood when Nari summoned her to his realm after defeating the bishops and all that she sometimes asked to linger behind to talk to Aym and Baal. I’d say Solange and Aym were on neutral terms before Solange fought Nari as I hc Aym is an absolute social disaster ( not helped by the fact he was raised by Nari and barely had any social interaction outside of his brother and Nari ) along with him being slightly jealous of her ( “ why did Master pick her to wield the red crown? I could do so much better “ )

It didn’t help that Solange “died” a lot during crusades so Aym also saw her as pretty weak/kinda pathetic but he didn’t have any hatred towards her until they refused to sacrifice the crown.

When Aym was bought to Solanges flock he was not happy about it. He was very hostile towards her and generally caused problems ( mainly regarding getting into fights with the other cult members ).

On Solanges end she doesn’t hold anything against Aym and Baal for fighting her in the TOWW battle because she knew they were very loyal to him ( she still was pretty upset by the stuff they said beforehand though ) however she was very annoyed at Aym being a menace and causing issues in her flock and so their relationship was pretty tense for a while ( not to the extent of how she is with the bishops but they argued/fought semi often )

I’m not exactly sure where the turning point is but ik it involves Aym overhearing Nari and Solanges conversation where Nari admits he didn’t care about Aym and Baal and that they’re her problem now.

It causes Aym and Nari to have some sort of argument and afterwards Aym is heartbroken and starts to become more withdrawn and angry ( well more angry than he already was ).

Solange tries to comfort him to slightly mixed results as Aym still doesn’t like her for a while but he isn’t as hostile towards her afterwards. Eventually they start to bond and become friends ( and eventually lovers but it’s pretty slow burn )

BAAL: during Solange vesselhood they were on pretty good terms and postgame when Baal is bought back they’re still on good terms ( Baal apologized to her for trying to kill her and she’s like “ dw it’s fine you were following orders “ ). Tbh I feel kinda bad for not having too much on her and him compared to her and Aym but oh well

havent figured out everything for it and if im gonna use the canon lamb/goat or my interps but i do have some vague ideas for the bishops ( who in this au are all former high ranking psychonauts ( well maybe except leshy? idk how old everyone is going to be outside of shamura being like the psychic 6's age range ( old ) )

heres some general psi power hcs and stuff ( btw unless stated otherwise assume that they all have the psi power basics like lev, telepathy, tk etc )

Leshy: main power is clairovoyance ( he uses it to see bc hes still blind in this au ) and his secondary power is herbaphony ( plant talking power )

Heket: still working out her powers tbh ( maybe zootelepathy? will come back to this later ) though i will say she uses telepathy to communicate bc she has a lot of trouble speaking ( essentially mute )

Kallamar: hydrokinesis definetely though i havent figured out if he has any notable powers outside of that ( maybe a specialty in levitation? )

Shamura: so as a prenote they still have a brain injury in this au so their psi powers are kinda fucked/dont work properly ( like how loboto is but w/o the lobotomy bit ). they used to be very skilled in mental connection along with having precognition

Narinder: his is also a wip but i do know hed have pyrokinesis. and while necromancy isnt " real " in the pn universe i like to think he was trying to obtain that power and gets his ass put in psychoisolation bc of it ( along with attacking his siblings )

They’re a menace who loves violence but is surprisingly a pretty good cult leader back at their world and does care abt their followers like Solange ( even if they show it in.. odd ways )

I think it’s in part bc Goat and their Nari actually have a positive relationship ( outside of the fact it was goat who tries to kill their Nari instead of their Nari killing them but dw they’re past that and are besties ( maybe lovers? Idk but they def flirt a lot )

Tbh I’m still figuring out what I wanna do with Goatverse Nari

Like I haven’t decided if they’re a god of life, a god of war or just a god of death

I have an au where she just completely loses it/crashes out and kinda becomes a tyrant?
If you ever heard of the vocaloid song happiness of peace and mind committee that’s basically the vibe I’m going for

She still very much cares for her followers but her wanting them to be happy and safe gets extremely twisted to the point where she starts killing followers who even show the slightest bit of discontent in fear of them dissenting or conspiring against her.

Her disciples are worried about her ( especially Ellena ) but decide to keep quiet as to not cause any problems

As for the bishops they kinda get put in the torture labyrinth oopsies ( Nari is also in the torture labyrinth too so it’s not like Nari is getting off the hook in fact he’s actually the one getting the most tortured )

As for the side characters ( like the shopkeepers and knucklebones gang ) i think they are aware Solange lost their mind ( to varying degrees as Ratau would be a lot more privy to the fact Solange has completely lost it than like the fish man )

As for Aym and Baal I haven’t fully figured out their roles but I imagine the crash out happens after they’re returned to forneus only bc it’d be so funny for them to be like “ I wonder how Solange is doing, we should pay her a visit “ and walk into whatever the fuck is going on in Solanges cult and are like “ oohhh shitttt… “

so Solange works at a cafe/bakery and was adopted by Ratau as their parents died at a young age and Ratau was a family friend ( the knucklebones gang + berith also had a hand in raising her too ).
Ratau was a gambler in his youth and has a lot of debts including but not limited to: The Fox and probably Narinder

i havent figured out what all the bishops do but theyre all adopted siblings.
Nari owns a funeral/morgue buisness and is the adoptive father of Aym and Baal though not by choice as Shamura was actually the adoptive parent of Aym/Baal bc Forneus was in a circumstance where she couldnt take care of them properly ( probably had them at a young age ). Nari became the adoptive dad after an accident rendered Shamura unable to take care of them ( brain injury ) However Aym/Baal reunited with Forneus recently and Nari and Forneus " co parent " them.
( hes not a good dad. wouldnt say abusive but very distant )

It’s bad and it’s not healthy for her mental state and I think Solange knows they’d be a lot better off kicking Nari and the Bishops out of her flock but she can’t bring herself to esp bc Leshy is the only Bishop that Solange actually likes in some capacity

Another thing I’ve been wanting to play with is Solanges feelings about running a cult and her morality ( loosely based on a post I saw on tumblr that I half agree with )

So Solange is aware of the implications and repercussions of running a cult
She tries to offset it by calling it A Flock and tries to be benevolent to her followers but deep down she knows it’s still a cult albeit a less violent one

Nari definitely called her out about this in private and Solange hates the fact that he’s technically right

Bc tbh I kinda hate how the lamb is forced to deal with the bishops dysfunctional family problems both fanon and canon wise

Like why does The Lamb almost always have to be involved in fixing the relationship between the person who used them for his own gain and was willing to kill them in the end they were of no more use to him ( Nari ) and the people who genocided their species until they were the only survivor left ( or in Solanges case the only survivor in the lands of the old faith )

Also the bishops/nari being kicked out of the flock is technically a punishment in itself bc now they have to fend for themselves/try to survive ( Solange isn’t totally heartless though and does give them some resources to be able to survive including things to accommodate for their disabilities ( or more specifically Leshys as she gives him a walking stick )

And for Nari specifically he has immortality since she spared him while the other bishops don’t and Solange didn’t give them golden skull necklaces so he’s most likely going to end up outliving them all.
Solange didn’t intend for this to be part of the punishment but she does feels like it’s some sort of karma ( she outlived her family bc they were killed and now Nari has to feel the same pain she felt/still feels outliving his siblings. It’s even worse if Nari ever properly reconciles with his siblings )

I can imagine she crosses paths with Nari on a crusade like a century later and he’s absolutely miserable as his siblings are dead and hes been struggling to get by

I think either he’d attack her and is blaming her for everything or he’s groveling and begging her to kill him

( sorry if this is kinda dark and fucked up lol I just wanna delve into the darker aspects of both cotl itself and Solanges psyche bc girlies fucked up and I don’t think ppl delve into the fact that the lamb would definitely be fucked up after everything they went through )

As much as I don’t like the dangerous devotion au I do like the angle of their lamb being fucked up

It’s also a fun contrast bc with her flock she tries to be as benevolent as possible considering the circumstances ( though she does do some fucked up things related to the cult like killing off spies and can be intimidating esp if she’s in a bad mood )

though her being intimadating towards her flock is like sam boole intimadating lol

Damn I realize that I’ve been talking abt a lot of depressing fucked up shit regarding Solange lately so here’s some more lighthearted hcs

• autistic ( though she doesn’t know bc autism diagnosis probably doesn’t exist in whatever time period cotl is on. In my other “modern” au ( basically my cotl canon but like 1000+ years later since Solange is essentially immortal so she’s just kinda vibing in the modern world and also is in charge of the afterworld. Idk it’s confusing to explain ) she gets the diagnosis and is like “ oh that makes so much sense “

• doesn’t need to eat but does need to sleep ( mainly applies during her vesselhood as when she’s a full on god she doesn’t need to sleep ( she does anyways ) ). She does eat anyways despite that bc it helps her retain a bit of her humanity and also she likes food

• lets Mayberry braid her hairwool ( also applies to children in general )

• sometimes uses the confession box to have gossip sessions with her followers

• surprisingly heavyweight with alcohol ( can slam down like 4 bog beers but prefers grape nectar the juniper drink and that other fruity drink I can’t remember the name of )

• knucklebones pro ( often goes to the old shack to gamble with ratau and the others along with general socialization and sometimes she vents/rants to ratau abt things )

something something being seen only as a potential babymaker by a lot of the male sheep/rams here

Thinking abt my other modern au
Which is the one where my cotl canon happens and there’s a time jump to modern times

Solange and the other new crownbearers live among the mortals and stuff ( debating on if they’re aware she and the others are gods or not but I do think there’s a religion tied to it )

Unfortunately most of the cotl cast is dead ( Aym and Baal are a special case bc they go back and forth between the underworld/afterlife Solange runs and the mortal world ) outside of Narinder and maybe the fox? Idk I think it’d be funny if the fox was some immortal being

Maybe also the disciples with golden skull necklaces but that’s a big maybe bc a part of Solanges arc is her realizing sometimes people have to die and she can’t just force them to live forever

Either way Solange also runs the underworld too so she goes back and forth between the mortal world and underworld ( Aym and Baal also help run the underworld which is part of the reason why they can traverse between the afterlife and the mortal realm )

Magic probably still exists too but it’s a lot more rare

Oh and a fun fact that’s kinda useless but the reason Solange ( and by extension the other crownbearers ) doesn’t change her name if I go the mortals don’t know they’re gods route is bc it’s pretty common for people who follow the religion ( which I call new faith ) to be named or name their children after the gods/goddesses

Like how Athena and Apollo are pretty common names in our world

and regarding appearances its like how theres many different interpertations and designs of gods ( ie greek gods )

So idk if in any of my canons she would have kids bc she has a lot of trauma surrounding it ( in the sense of being seen as only a babymaker by both her own kind and in general )

But she also feels this internal pressure to have them if only to preserve her species

When she finds out that sheep do exist outside of the lands of the old faith it’s like a weight lifted off her shoulders

Though there still is a little bit of internal pressure since sheep are still rare/borderline endangered and she’s what could be considered a “ purebred “ sheep ( ie a sheep w/o any other species mixed in ) but it’s a lot less than before

I have considered her having kids with Aym and maybe the fox ( though regarding the fox it’d be in a seperate canon and it’s only bc I think the idea of fox/sheep hybrids being called feep or sox is funny )

Nari starts to make some connections with the other members of Solanges flock

granted when Nari realizes the fact him being immortal and his siblings arent does result in him backsliding

especially bc Solange isnt exactly willing to hand out gold skull necklaces to them ( she really only gives them to disciples along with aym/baal ( and by extension forneus but it was more she gave aym/baal an extra necklace to give to forneus if she wanted it ) and is planning on giving mayberry one when shes older. Solange also offered one to Ratau but he declined )

and even then with disciples/mayberry its more of an optional thing bc of the arc i mentioned involving Solange realizing she can't force immortality on someone

orginally i was going to have him be pissed but i realized he'd probably want to leave anyways and this was his excuse to leave

i still dont have a name for em yet but i do have like vague ideas on how their world is so heres some sparknotes

• the bishops of goats world are also the gods of chaos, famine, pestilence and war but its swapped around ( the nari of their world is still god of death though )
• oh and theres a light genderswap too ( minus goats shamura who still exclusively uses they/them ) so the " heket " of goats world is the only dude
• there wasnt a genocide on goats but that doesnt mean the bishops arent cruel as after G! Nari was locked away they set out to forcibly convert her followers lest they be tortured and/or executed/killed
• Goat's family refused to be converted and they were all promptly killed outside of Goat ( who managed to escape and for the next couple years fended for themselves before they eventually got killed )
• i havent decided if Goat was killed as a sacrifice or they simply got unlucky and was killed by a random heretic but either way theyre dead and got sent to G! Nari

• G! Nari saw this as an opportunity to try and break free so she decided to give Goat her crown and told them to " revive " her cult ( aka start a cult in her name ) and to convince the Bishops to free her )
• unlike Lamb's Nari G! Nari didn't exactly want Goat to kill the Bishops ( only as a last resort ) but Goat did so anyways ( Mainly as revenge but also the Bishops weren't exactly willing to hear Goat out )

• G! Nari is nicer than Nari but she's still pretty morally grey imo. She still attacked her siblings but unlike Nari after being chained up for a while she ends up sorta regretting it ( not fully though because she still felt like she was justified in doing so )
• the reason she was locked away was similar to the reason Nari was ( started playing with life ) but with the added addition of the fact her resurrections often backfiring and resulted in her followers becoming cursed or catatonic
• has her own version of aym and baal! her dynamic with them is a lot better than what we can presume of canon nari and aym/baal but she still was pretty emotionally distant as she didn't want to get too attached to them ( also didn't want them to get overly attached to her )

• during Goat's vesselhood they kinda went mad with power and decided that after all the bishops were dead they'd kill and usurp G! Nari
• G! Nari herself could see Goat was going mad with power and knew they wouldn't be giving up the crown so easily when it would be time to so she was planning to fight them
• so boss fight happened and when G! Nari was defeated Goat was going for the final blow but ended up not going through with it ( basically had a " what the fuck am i doing? what have i become? " moment ) and spared her
• the first few months with G! Nari as a follower were kinda tense and awkward as Goat and G! Nari weren't exactly on great terms with eachother. it wasnt hostile but they tried to avoid eachother as much as possible
• Goat started to turn over a new leaf regarding how they ran their cult ( beforehand it was kind of a no mans land/shitshow ) they still enjoy violence but they decided to channel it into training the followers how to fight/fend for themselves. They also have a fight pit and mainly do rites of wrath ( there is a no killing rule with the rite of wraths however )
• overtime Goat and G! Nari reconcile and G! Nari becomes the secondary leader and main disciple

• their dynamic is a lot healthier than Solange and Nari but thats kinda obvious

idk if theyre romantically together but they like to playfully flirt with eachother and its kind of a hot debate among Goats Followers on if theyre dating or not

oh and G! Nari is probably going to be a snow leopard

im also gonna give her like an actual name

im thinking Naenia ( which is the goddess of funerals in roman mythology )

i hope Naenia isnt like too woobifed bc she still isnt the best person even if she's less bad than her siblings.

Solange takes the latter option and decides to help search for crownbearers ( possibly with the help of Haro? idk )

Ok back to my cotl canon stuff this time minorly focused on Nari and the Bishops

So I notice that in the usual aus/“canons” where the bishops stay in the cult and are healed they usually have the immortality necklace or be implied to have one

But what if as a sorta reverse thing it’s Nari who wants to become mortal

He was spared so he’s immortal but over time he starts to sort of appreciate mortal life ( it mainly starts after he and his siblings get the boot ) and also ends up realizing he’s going to outlive his siblings bc he’s immortal

Granted it’ll be a while before the bishops die bc I hc that despite being mortal they have a very long lifespan as mortals

And tbh maybe if things worked out differently and Nari actually made Solange mortal after she defeated all the Bishops then Solange and Lavender might have actually worked out as a romantic relationship

If Solange was made mortal again she would have tried to convince some of her followers ( or more specifically Ellena, Lavender and Ginger ) to leave the lands of old faith with her

But secondly if Narinder could and did keep Solange alive after freeing him, there’d be little sense in just setting her loose as an average mortal. Most likely she’d be made a disciple at the very least

However when Narinder decides he wants to marry Solange it causes her to freak out ( some context is that before she was executed she lived with a farmer who tried to get her to marry him and when she refused it caused him to sell her out to be executed )

She goes through with the marriage bc she knows if she retaliates she’s screwed

I’m worried if I’m going too far with this but like Nari didn’t get usurped so he didn’t get “ humbled “ so I feel like its sort of in character for him to do this? Idk

However with the new bishops that rule over each bishops former area some do let them stay in their village/community

However bc I hc that Nari finds a way to give up his immortality when he’s close to dying ( of old age ) Solange let’s him stay until his eventual death

I think she would bury him in her cult/flockgrounds too as when the other bishops passed they were all buried in the areas they used to rule ( ie darkwood for leshy, silk cradle for Shamura etc ) but since Nari doesn’t exactly have that area Solange decides to just bury him next to Giselle

At this point her hatred of Nari has simmered down and while she isn’t exactly fond of him she at the very least wants his final days to be somewhat pleasant

Which is a very far cry from how she was before where she was two seconds away from killing him

• has this soft pentitence mode thing going on. She technically doesn't need to eat or sleep but she can still feel the effects of not eating/sleeping ( primarily during vesselhood and early postgame as when she grows into godhood she doesn't feel those effects anymore )
• has a sensitive stomach so she can't handle meat ( fish is fine but meat/follower meat especially is a no go ). Solange also cant handle eating grassy gruel due to the fact she was only fed that while she was kept captive before execution along with having to eat grass before she was taken in by the farmer. Her go to meals are splendid vegetable feast, cheery cauliflower chowder, or a simple basic berry bowl

Ngl one thing that sticks out to me about your AU is that the lamb, the main character, honestly doesn’t often seem in the right

Yea Solange isn’t exactly the most mentally stable individual and being basically forced to run a cult did not help that. Her also being in her early twenties when she became a vessel also didn’t help either ( I’m still trying to figure out how old she is exactly but she’s 21 at the youngest and 23 at the oldest when she became a vessel and by post game she’s in her mid twenties )

She tries to treat her followers well and postgame she attempts to make the cult less cultish ( which is why she calls it a flock ) but regarding Nari, Solange holds a really really nasty grudge against him ( both for very valid reasons but also some more.. I guess not as valid reasons? A reason she treats Nari harshly while he’s in her cult is because she’s very stressed along with dealing with a lot of negative emotions and unleashing her anger/frustration on him is a messed up form of catharsis to her ).
Solanges also pretty bitter towards the bishops too but she tries to be somewhat cordial with them. She felt like she got her vengeance against them by essentially killing them twice ( also her bitterness towards Nari is a lot more personal than her bitterness towards the bishops )

She also has a pretty black and white way of thinking sometimes ( it’s the undiagnosed autism ) and it’s pretty prevalent with her relationship with Nari and to a lesser extent her followers

It’s very obvious when dealing with spies as she often goes for the violent way of getting rid of them ( it’s part of the reason she and Fox have this sorta weird partnership thing going on bc she gives spies to him in exchange for him not pestering her to give him Ratau ( he still does ask occasionally but gets the same answer every time ) ( and maybe other things? Idk what Fox would even give Solange outside of tailsmans but tbh Solange doesn’t exactly care abt what she gets in return. She only wants a way to dispose of spies and Fox isn’t turning down the free prey )

Concept for Solanges very first follower

Her name is Ellena
She and Solange were in the same holding cell as both of them were set to be executed/sacrificed and they formed a bit of a bond

When Solange was resurrected she saved Ellena from her fate and now she’s her most devoted disciple

Anyways thinking of moving the solange and fox having a weird partnership/deal where she gives him bodies of spies to the au where she completely crashes out and most of her morality is out the window

sometimes i worry abt downplaying the cult aspects with Solange especially since postgame she tries to distance herself from that ( calling it a Flock or Community instead )

like Solange knows that being a cult leader isnt good but she was pretty much forced into being a vessel and then usurped/fought Nari due to her feeling betrayed and desperation to live so shes basically kinda stuck in the position shes in now

She knows that the cult roots will never go away and she also has rules in place to try to minimize damage ( ie the no kids/children in the cult rule that she sort of broke with Mayberry and later Webber but in Mayberrys case Solange would feel even worse leaving a child to get killed and in Webbers case the circumstances of him joining were weird and Solange didn't really wanna kick him out )

i was originally gonna have her maybe allow kids postgame but tbh i think shes still extremely uncomfy with the idea of kids being in her Flock

shes been very fun to think abt in the context of my cotlverse since she isn't exactly a typical " follower " in Solanges eyes

its a bit complicated but since they knew each other prior to Solanges execution ( they were in the same holding cell and possibly from the same village but idk if they really interacted much since Solange was p much confined to the house she and the farmer were living in both bc the farmer was a controlling pos and also the fear of getting caught by heretics ) Ellena sees Solange a bit differently than the rest of the followers ( less like a god/deity and more as a person ) and so they are very close bc of that

Ellena is kind of a second in command and helps Solange out with the Cult/Flock duties especially when Solange was a Vessel ( shes the one the other followers go to when Solange is busy )

shes sort of the Flinky to Solanges Ratau if that makes sense ( if Solange had to marry one of her followers shed feel less weird marrying Ellena )
Also Ellena would technically be the next vessel/bearer for the red crown if Solange were to ever relinquish it

Knucklebones Gang: as i said before Ratau is sort of a father figure to her and the rest are like kinda uncles but also theyre all probably dating so ig theyre all her father figures?? idk

Forneus: very close! not a full on mother figure but Solange considers her a comforting presence and a respite from the crusading. Sometimes she stays in the room Forneus' shop is set up and they both enage in conversation. Idk if Solange puts the two and two that Aym and Baal were Forneus' kids but she does put the pieces together and she does return them to Forneus

Midas: before he robbed her ass they were on neutral terms. She'd give him spies to make into statues but outside of that they barely interacted. After he robbed her Solange holds a grudge against him ( not a particuraly violent or nasty one but shes pissed off at him ) and most likely does beat his ass to get her money back

Rakshasa: Neutral/friendly terms. She buys seeds and food from him and thats kind of the extent of their relationship ( she doesnt attack his wife in my canon )

Ratoo: Neutral/friendly terms. She gives him the Hathor demon however she doesn't know hes Ratau's brother until like way later when she offhandly mentions it to Ratau.

Fisherman: Neutral terms i guess? Solange finds him kinda weird but he does sell her fish so she doesn't really care that much.

Monch: pretty close! similar to Forneus she likes to just sit by the fire and talk to Monch about stuff. Solange has offered Monch to come live in her Flock but Monch rejects the offer as she prefers to be a nomad of sorts.

Helob: She finds him extremely off-putting though she does buy followers from him occasionally

• She actually was close with Her “ Leshy “ ( haven’t figured out a name but I might go with Eris bc Greek goddess of chaos ( i ended up scrapping the other bishops being jumbled around with what they represent ) rather than her “ Shamura “ ( in fact she clashed heads with them the most out of all the siblings )
• this also means Goat fights their bishops in a diff order so “ Leshy “ is last
• while the attack happened idk if it was as vicious as Nari’s. Obviously she did mess them up pretty bad though I’m not sure if she straight up tears “ Shamuras “ brain open ( she caused brain injury though so maybe instead of the full brain exposed it’s half of the brain? )
• however “ Leshy “ managed to come out the most unscathed as Naenia only took out one eye instead of two/multiple ( also Naenia didn’t intend to target her only the other three siblings ) so far that’s the only regret she has regarding the attack

• Solange only cleanses Shamura solely for her own benefit ( wanting some kind of closure which she does kinda get to an extent bc Shamura does feel some sort of regret and remorse for the shit they did )
• with the others she just released them and looked for their relics
• afterwards she kicks em out and gives them the relics ( she does help find a place for them but outside of that and very rarely checking up on them she almost completely cuts contact )
• Narinder goes back and forth between staying with his siblings and staying in Solanges Flock ( note: by now their relationship is neutral/kinda positive so he doesnt fully detest being in Solanges Flock along with the fact he has some relationships with her folllowers

• The relationship between the Bishops and Narinder is stable but they never fully reconciled their differences
• Idk if the others get cleansed but i know Heket never does as she still has a lot of baggage regarding the whole thing
• eventually the bishops die but thats a long while ahead ( like around a century and a half kind of while ). Most of them died from natural causes ( with the exception of Kallamar who got murked by one of his exes /hj )

• a key note is that i hc Narinder cannot die not just of old age but by any means. The only way he can die is if hes killed by the red crownbearer. Solange is very reluctant to kill him bc he was the patron god in the sheep sanctuary she used to live in so she feels like shed be betraying the sheepfolk that lived there along
• Narinder thinks Solange is intentionally punishing him and so their relationship deteriorates again rip 💔

Solange feels really guilty for the fact she cant bring herself to kill him so when she eventually passes down the crown to someone else ( in this case either her next of kin if she has any or Mayberry ( who is one of the few followers from during Solanges vesselhood/early godhood thats still alive as she has the golden skull pendant ( she stopped aging in her mid 20s as i hc that the golden skull necklace freezes aging ( which i think is canon ). another hc with the golden skull pendant is that when you take it off you just resume aging as normally continuing from the age you obtained it ( so it can be taken off for periods of time w/o there being any rapidly aging stuff ) she tells them to find Nari and put him out of his misery

Maveth is.. not the greatest person. Granted their reason for doing this is bc of their very inflated sense of justice and wanting vengeance ( at first to the bishops for what they did to the sheepfolk and bc of how many mortals were screwed over by them and then to Nari post usurp for what he did ). Think Light Yagami from death note in terms of ethics I guess? Basically a downward spiral that results in him being deluded to the point where anyone who opposes him is on the receiving end of their wrath.

Like Solange treats Nari ( and to an extent the other bishops though regarding them it’s mainly Heket and Kallamar bc her relationship with Shamura is pretty complex and with Leshy she doesn’t like him but they didn’t have many interactions bc he was either the last or second to last she released from purgatory since she kicks the bishops out afterwards) pretty shitty but it was mainly insults and threats ( she only got physically violent with Nari once or twice and that’s bc she was pushed to get absolute limit by him ).

And like she and Nari did reconcile their differences and their relationship became like decent
( granted the relationship did deteriorate around a century later but it was on Naris end )

Carmine’s cult is usually a sweet, nice place but for Shamura? Nah he’s isolated during fun events, tortured by Carmine and constantly reminded of what he did to her and her mother

She’s an overall vengeful person toward Shamura but then Nari had to threaten their relationship to get her to stop

With Solanges Flock ( she starts to steer away from the cult like stuff/some of the practices bc she never even wanted to be a cult leader in the first place along with the fact she has moral ocd. Granted even with that change Solange is still haunted by the whole cult leader thing and feels like no matter what she does her Flock is still a cult with a fancy name and she’s a awful person ) it’s generally a rlly nice place but for Nari in the beginning it was kinda hell. He was isolated to some degree and there was a clear difference in how she treated Nari compared to the other followers.

I think the breaking point was her putting him in the pillory ( granted for a legit reason bc he accidentally killed a dude ( who ended up being resurrected anyways but still ) ) for what was going to be a extended period of time compared to the period of time when other followers are put in there ( like 2 weeks for Nari ). She didn’t really consider the fact that “ hey maybe putting the dude who was chained up in a prison for a millennia in the pillory isn’t a great idea for his psyche “

Her followers were like “ ok our leader is going too far “ and Ellena ( her first follower/disciple/one of the few people who doesn’t completely deify her ) ends up having to have a long discussion with her after Solange flips the fuck out when she finds out the same follower Nari killed broke him out of jail ( the follower in question is named Kit and the reason he breaks Nari out is bc ingame he has the unlawful trait along him not fully caring Nari killed him bc he thought it was kinda badass and also he got revived anyways so it’s pretty much water under the bridge )

I should mention Solange is pretty immature ( I mean she was executed at 21 and while she still did age normally throughout vesselhood and a bit of postgame ( so by the start of postgame she’s around 24ish and her aging slows down by her late 20s to early 30s ) her mentality is a bit younger due to many different factors including trauma and neurodivergency ( that she isn’t even aware of since lands of old faith is very behind innovation and tech wise along with the general time period being kind of a time soup so idk if autism is even recognized outside the lands of old faith ) and is also prone to making impulsive/rash decisions based on emotion

Maveth ( the Lamb who tortures Nari ) was executed in their mid 20s and by post game they’re in their mid 30s either chronologically or mentally so like they don’t have the “ excuse “ Solange does regarding age ( they’re very fucked up and traumatized though which is part of the reason they do the things they do )

Also fun fact Maveth and Solange are cousins
Maveth in Solanges universe/continuity is dead and vice versa

The reason Solange specifically has the most disdain for Heket and Kallamar is bc of the fact they had a more active role in the deaths of sheepfolk ( bc of the fact they’re the gods of famine and pestilence respectively )
In fact Solanges parents died bc of disease/illness caused by Kallamar so she has the most disdain for him

On the flip side it would have softened her opinion on Kallamar a little

Couldn’t decide on if I wanted to keep her initial scar color or have it red so I did both

so uh ended up redoing the outfit on Solanges ref

Ok more rambles abt Solangeverse bc I’ve been workshopping some stuff

• I think she did attempt to keep the Bishops in her Flock after releasing them all from purgatory for a bit if only bc of Nari ( their relationship is neutral/slightly positive at this point in time ) but eventually decided to kick them out bc her mental health was getting really bad.
• The only somewhat positive relationship she had with the bishops was Shamura ( Leshy is in a weird spot where she doesn’t like him but also doesn’t hate him like she hates Heket and Kallamar since they do have some common ground in the sense they were made gods at a young age and are in the same sort of mental age range esp after Leshy becomes mortal bc I hc that the Bishops age when Mortal is tied to their mental age as gods so Shamura is in their late 50s to late 60s/early 70s, Kallamar in the late 30s to 40s age range, Nari in his mid-late 30s ( granted he’s stuck at that age range bc of his immortality ), Heket in her late 20s-early 30s and Leshy in his early-mid 20s ).
• She and Heket often fought and Kallamar was terrified of her ( which she played into a little bc of her contempt for him and also she found it a little funny )
• she only cleansed Shamura but she did find the others relics ( though she seriously considered refusing to find Heket and Kallamars ) and gave the relics to them when she kicked them out

• I ended up retconning the former red crownbearers can’t die unless killed by the current red crownbearer thing a little
  Now it’s former red crownbearers can’t die of any natural causes ( ie old age, illness, starvation ) but can die of other means ( however it’s relatively hard to since red crown bearers both former and otherwise are able to heal from injuries faster and easier ). This doesn’t apply to vessels though, only ascended gods

So Ratau does kick the bucket ( it does take a while bc he has an extended lifespan due to being a former vessel )

And that really messes up Solange ( she offered to make him immortal but he declined )

• She ends up getting attached to Haro as a father figure.
  Postgame they become pretty close as Haro tries to help Solange with her newfound godhood since he was a former god himself and then Rataus death causes her to cling on to him a lot more. Haro doesn’t exactly know how to feel about all this

He doesn’t dislike her but he saw himself as more of a mentor to her than a familial figure ( Solange and Haros relationship started out as mentor/mentee then Solange slowly saw him as more of a father figure with Haro not being aware until Rataus death )
