So, much to my disappointment at firsthand accounts on Reddit, Yarlen, Jalala, and Rinor make abomination babies. The other special followers, I get. But these three? It just makes absolutely no sense at all! There is zero supernatural fuckery going on with them and their equilvalent follower forms (panda and skunk) are literally right there. It kind of makes me wonder what the point of having panda and skunk forms even was to begin with if these followers were just gonna produce abomination babies anyways. In fact, that's kind of why I assumed those forms were there in the first place. If there's anything the devs consider fixing in the next patch, I really hope it's this, especially with the current issue of not even being able to customize the color of abominations.

Just popping in to say that, if certain high talking point characters do end up becoming followers in the future (namely Midas and the executioner), I really hope the same logic here would apply to them as well since they also already have equivalent follower forms in the game. Pig (I think the executioner is a pig?) is literally a default follower form and the starfish form can be picked up in Midas' cave. However, in the case of Midas, you'd probably only be able to get a starfish baby from him if you picked up the form beforehand, otherwise it'd default to the other parent's species

I don't think midas would willingly be a follower of the lamb/goat but then again the crown gives the lamb/goat to Basically overwrite their entire mind or something like that

In the case of Narinder, Aym, Baal, the Bishops, and Sozo/Sozonius, it could be argued that some weirdness going on is the reason they make abominations, but it might also be in part for the sake of consistency since not all of them have equivalent follower forms in the game yet

They are special due to unlock method ig (although ig most follower forms specific to the regions are unlocked that way as well other then buying them)

Now, there are several character followers that I don't really see happening. Forneus because her story is tightly tied to Aym and Baal, and Rakshasa and Plimbo because they both have spouses. I only specifically namedropped Midas and the executioner since they seem the most likely at the moment. Hints at Midas have been dropped and evidence suggests that the devs also have plans for the executioner, with one even referring to them as a favorite character

The cat is one of the default forms, so it should probably stay as is. But I could see the frog form becoming a drop from defeating Heket, for example

Frog form is normally unlocked from saving followers in anura or bought at the mushroom sanctuary
Also for cats there are some others like the heart cat and tiger/lion
But yeah those ones areant remotely close to Narinder nor Baal and Aym (ik Baal and Aym aren't bishops but yeah)
