just since this popped into my head, here's a full list of things that my Goat has done to my Lamb!! (in order)

1. ||Paid Helob to wrap Lamb in webs so that Goat can toss Lamb in the natural burial machine||
2. ||Snuck up behind Lamb and shoved them into the waters of Pilgrim's Passage where Lamb immediately got eviscerated by several giant fish||
3. ||Shoved the follower out of the way during a sacrifice ritual and then dragged Lamb into the summoning circle instead||
4. ||Buried Lamb alive||
5. ||Moved the entire cult around just to hide the cooking fire from Lamb, making them starve to death||
6. ||Made Lamb drink soup that was too hot|| (brutal)
7. ||Paid Helob to love the crunch of Lamb||

This is why I dislike the writing of COTL

So from the dialogue in-game it was pretty difficult to infer what actually happened, who did what, mainly because Narinder in all his glory decided not to speak up, despite being the only person completely able to.

So one decently pleasant fan on Twitter asked the lead writer of the game about it in more detail, to which they said this:

This was an extremely disappointing development for 2 reasons:

1. It means that the wounds by Shamura were planned
2. It means that Shamura inflicted the wounds themself

The first one, was a slightly less big issue (i literally dont care personally)
However the second one is possibly one of the biggest continuity errors in the entire game.

It was such a legitimately bad continuity error that I had to personally confront the game's writer about if they meant something else over twitter on the same thread because of how bad it was. (second image is the first attachment)

So why did this personally conflict with me personally?

1. It shows there's a clear underlying bias towards the game's main antagonist, Narinder
   -# They attempted to absolve him and his actions by pinning the entire action on Shamura before the continuity error was retconned by Jojo after this was pointed out by me
   -# and we already know why they're attempting to absolve him; it's because he's the game's secondary poster child. he's in all the advertising, is in the game's flagship ship, and has a ton of fans.
2. The lore can seemingly change on a dime to fit whatever the writers need (and evidently want), which is not how a story should be written

(not to mention the entire update as a whole was kind of a miss writing-wise)
(seriously, Lamb got a twin? And Aym and Baal don't even get a passing glance at that? those kind of interactions write themselves)

(also Goat having literally no lore at all period besides that one statue interaction scene was extremely disappointing to me personally)

anyways, wanted to get this off my chest in a more public and available space to people who really want to know why UA left an extremely sour taste in my mouth writing-wise

Jess was always a follower of everything that wasn't his home realm, Anchordeep.

He deeply resented the culture in his home due to the fact that Astaroth had heavy restrictions on dress code in the Cult of Kallamar, and Jess couldn't fully express himself in the way that he wanted (especially in the fashion sense).

One day, he discovered a fellow transmasculine icon who was slowly but surely making his rounds throughout the Lands of the Old Faith and beyond!

Baal was making fashion statements ever since he came back from the dead, and legitimately giving Berith a run for his money in terms of outfit sales.
Baal understood better than anybody what fit every resident of the Lands Of The Old Faith, and Jess respected it and was even a frequent customer when Baal decided to visit Anchordeep!

He in fact, respected it so much that he tracked Baal down and personally one day after escaping Anchordeep and requested to work with him!

Baal, recognizing the look of a transmasculine guy who was desperate to get out of his current situation, took him under his wing and now Jess and Baal are effectively QPPs (queer-platonic partners) that live with each other in Lamb's cult!

Jess Trivia time!!

• Jess is transmasculine (with he/him pronouns!)
• Jess's jacket has LEDs on it
• As previously stated, Jess and Baal are both queer platonic partners (Baal is still married to Lamb uwu)
• Jess grew up in Kallamar's cult so, just like Kvarcus, he'll live a really long time before he dies of old age
• Jess refuses to eat anything containing red berries because he's convinced that it makes his fur less fluffy
• Jess's favorite food is vanilla ice cream with peanut and strawberry drizzle toppings
• Jess was actually designed to work outside of COTL as well
• Unlike the rest of my OCs, Jess actually is the only one who has a natural eye color of blue!
