I mean, whether that's actually the case versus it instead just being the termination of the -potential- for future life depends on one's sociopolitical views, to be fair

Unless you remove the hatch right as the egg is hatching and the child is fully formed and able to survive outside of the egg, which is a thing that I unfortunately had to do once to work around a softlock bug that was thankfully patched not too long after

But this thread isn't presumably about that one very specific case that most players wouldn't think to do for the sake of it

Resurrecting them also will have them come back as a young adult, so egg meals technically aren't the only option either

Honestly I feel like the egg meal is just fine as it is, I mean it can basically make followers immortal if you have enough so it kinda has to be expensive or hard to obtain.

And you can get five yolks total from a single golden egg, which also goes against the murdering kids argument since that egg doesn't lead to five children being born

There already is an alternative to egg meal, just resurrect them and give them a golden skull necklace
No one is making you make the egg meal. No follower is going to ask for it to be cooked that I've seen.

I can see how some people would not want to have to crack eggs to get 100% completion, so I can see the argument for needing an alternate way to be able to earn the chef's outfit.

But I don't agree that a different way to make followers young again besides resurrection needs to be added. Even if you think eggs = children (as mello said, that is a hot political debate), this is a game about running a cult and killing gods to become a god, potentially involving sacrifice, murder, cannibalism etc. And the concept of child sacrifice in pursuit of a fountain of youth and immortality has a long history in many mythologies and tales. As does the concept of eating the ||placenta|| for health and long life. You are a cult leader and you get to decide what kind of cult you lead. And at the end of the day it is a video game, we aren't actually doing any of these things and if you choose to do it that doesn't mean you would do the same irl.
