The followers who spawned the egg should be the care givers. I just think it's funny how they ditch the kid and have their leader take care of the brat.

I haven’t tested yet, is it just faith loss or are there other downsides? You can get away with neglecting it once no consequence it seems but idk how forgiving it is

I was out on a crusade for a few days and had the penalty each day. Came back and the tot was ready to grow up. Haven't had a problem with him so far. The only thing that comes with neglecting the kid, I believe, is not being able to age them up with a higher level compared to getting lvl one followers from crusades/requests/hekob.
