This game does smth, it’s disgusting but awesome and makes you feel like such a badass

Especially playing on harder game modes. I’m on survivor rn (second hardest) I’ve tried the hardest which is grounded, you can’t see your health bar, things that are usually silent now alert enemies and all that, the listen mode (where the enemies are white and I see them through walls) is completely disabled

I messed around in accessibility settings tho and re enabled it, also made high contrast toggle so I can see all items! I still gave up before the end of the first chapter tho 🥲

I’ve cried every time I replay this game, it’s so emotional bro

An irl fungus, cordyceps, evolves to infect humans

You follow the story through a couple characters but you start as Joel in part 1. He’s a smuggler (which I literally just realized the other day meant drugs) and he gets tasked with transporting a girl, Ellie, the main character of part 2.

Ellie is immune, and to study the immunity means killing her. It’s intertwined with her brain.

Joel doesn’t like that, they’ve grown closer and he kills everyone (you get an automatic rifle in this section too and it’s so good). He then kills the main surgeon, the guy making the vaccine. And part 1 ends.

Part 2 starts with Joel getting tortured and killed…. By THAT SURGEONS DAUGHTERRR. Part 2 is more focused on emotional turmoil than anything. Ellie hunts her down (Abby) and they fight a bit. It ends with Ellie crying at a beach, letting Abby go free.

She also looses her pinky and next finger on her left hand (important).

(Important bc throughout part 2 she grieves Joel by playing guitar. A skill he taught her. And at the end she lost her found family and her last connection to him)
