HI hello, I wanted to make another thread for my stuff that isn't Cult of the Lamb related!
I do a lot of concept work and whatnot for purely personal worlds, but I didn't want to flood my Cult thread with it, so... here we are c:

This is stuff for a world that focuses on african/middle eastern animals and creating societies based on their real life behavior. Thus far I've only worked solidly on the mammalian predator side of things, but I do plan to work on the other sides as well!

in short, it's basically early civilization through the view of weird-ass animals. There is 100% an element of magic involved in the world, but it's kind of a side concept to the whole," Haha lmao our civilizations are WEIRD" without the influence of humans
Like for example!

My two personal characters, Alkalb and Zahra, come from cultures that are very reminiscent of irl hyena and awd behavior.
Alkalb is the highest ranking male in his pack/clan, but he's still vastly outranked by all of the women in his group, and he does well to respect it lest they GET HIM
Zahra came from a very tightly knit family group where, yes, the women had more say generally, but most of the time, everyone was on equal ground as long as they respected the parental heads of the pack.

i have a very dear world of mine called ChromaCorp which I run for a few friends of mine c:
In this world, people are every color of the spectrum, and they're currently in a massive corperation society! and these are the leaders of each color group (minus violet because my buddy said he wanted to redo the design and hasn't done it yet 😤 )

I finally got back into transformers and have realized I have no idea what I'm doing with designing em after making a few ocs, it's okay if you got nothing to help with it but I was just wondering if you did!

I don't even know what questions to ask, I've only ever made like.. a few robots- You got any tips for like.. transformers type ones?

Well, I'd like to for a few ocs I made, I just need to draw em

OKAY SO
I have two tips for this.

1- A lot of the transformers, at their base, are made of extreme geometric shapes. I would suggest taking the generation/depiction of transformers that you wish to mimic, and tracing over some of the official designs to break down their shapes. It'll help you get a sense for how to build your ocs!

2- Look up how other people draw transformers and how people draw their OCs! A lot of times, especially in tech-based fandoms, people can come up with very creative ways of simplifying the shapes and making things seem detailed while not actually putting all that much work into them.

I will say as an aside, transformers do tend to come off as having pretty hefty shapes, even when their base form is rather thin. Usually, this is through bigger protrusions across the body and making the various components (torso, shoulder, chest) jut out pretty far while keeping the joints rather small. Additionally, if you want your transformers to seem big (even if by comparison to other transformers, they're pretty small), remember head to body ratio! The bigger something is, the smaller their head tends to appear!

as for ultrakill... just fuck around and find out, honestly
as long as you have the camera head and mostly triangles in the overall body form, it will be recognizable as v1
And hey, if you can figure out v1, you'll open the door to drawing a lot of more simplistic robots (bc they are actually quite simple once you get the hang of it)

V1 is quite a little beast that has strong enough character design to be super recognizable
you could literally scribble them in mspaint with your non-dominant hand and people would still recognize it, SO it's hard to go wrong once you find comfort in just not caring
