This is how I feel about these two
I like the idea of him having a prune.... imagine he has been living wild and chaotically for a millenia... and whilst he still is a little chaotic (adhd chaotic I'm thinking), without the crown to ramp up his nature, he is blind as well as not quite so chaotic.
Eventually he feels like a change... so he asks his best friend to help and after he grows new branches - that will represent horns like the Lamb at first and then eventually a stag.
He will grow into his own new person uwu
And then he finally touches his friend's face (because up until then he doesn't touch anyone, choosing to remain disconnected to people) and he is shocked to discover all this time he is a cat.
Realisation hits him that to hate cats is silly... when it wasn't a cat that tore out his eye - it was a person. That person isn't his best friend.
So he gives him a hug.
(And maybe it will blossom into a different kind of relationship but I like the idea that it could also just be a very strong broship)

Hmmm I like thar idea of the Lamb being immature... like... they're super loud and make decisions without thinking of too many consequences - they could be a bit of an emotional yo-yo... basically they were young when they suffered the trauma of seeing their family die and they had too much responsibility placed on them when they made the deal with Narinder (I mean it was do as I say or die). They have never been an exemplary leader... they made some REALLY bad decisions in the early days and a lot of Followers died or dissented.
After a hundred years maybe, they reached a certain maturity - JUST TO CLARIFY that they most definitely are adult - and they became a much better leader.
Still emotionally like a wayward teen.

And they actually found a father figure in Ratau and he kept them emotionally regular... but when he came across the Fox he was enamoured by their charm - (in this context they were enamoured like a young kid looking up to an older teen, who is 'the bad kid' maybe and seeking for their approval.) -They fulfilled all of their requests... not being aware that they emotionally disconnect when they sacrifice Followers to him or to Midas, or to TOWW... the Lamb does it for the immediate reward... and when the Fox asks for Ratau... that was the first time the Lamb hesitated.
He said no and walked away.... but then he did not see the Fox for a long time and he felt as though he had lost a true friend (even though he was manipulating the Lamb)... and some argument occurs between Ratau and the Lamb...
...perhaps the Lamb lost at Knucklebones and reacted really poorly... making Ratau's friends really concerned about his infantile outburst
.... and Ratau, being the good dad that he always has been, tried to help and give advice.... but the Lamb at that time was going through a significant growth in his emotional maturity and struggling to recognise that he had formed strong bonds with some people - Ratau, some Followers, the npcs he meets on his travels.
Basically he didn't notice he acquired a family... and all these emotions and minor revelations make him scared and react badly - aggressively. Whilst in denial he doubles down on behaviour that has always served him well in the past.
But some of these behaviours already feel wrong to him.... but he does them anyway... he gains his immediate rewards for his questionable decisions but every one tastes bitter in his mouth... until Ratau tries an intervention - to reach out to help 'his kid'.
They have another argument.
The Lamb accuses Ratau of having always tried to reclaim the crown.
Then one night the Lamb finds the Fox... who tells him everything he wants to hear... and the Lamb tells him all about Ratau's betrayal ...
.....and The Fox weaves a tale of all the dirty, manipulative tricks Ratau played when he was the crown bearer.
He even says that he lost the crown and was punished by TOWW because of his trickery.
Of course the Lamb laps this up and then the Fox suggests he could rid him of this betrayer easily.
In his state of mind, the Lamb agrees and summons Ratau.
It is the worst decision of his life.
He sees the fear in Ratau's eyes and hears his begging. It is only at the last moment that the Lamb realises that maybe the Fox lied and that he should at least give Ratau time to be questioned (perhaps put in the stocks a while, cuz thos Lamb is still pretty callous) ... he reaches out but his powers no longer work.
The Fox laughs... and laughs and laughs... as Ratau is devoured and it is the first time the Lamb watches his sacrifice's fate and sees the Fox's true form...
....and after that the Lamb lives with guilt and regret and tries to forget his mistakes with SINS OF THE FLESH
He marries FOR LOVE except he doesn't actually feel love for anyone. With his first husband/wife he tries to love but that marriage ends in divorce (of the Follower's head from their body). After that he only marries people who he likes.
In a way, when he at least is finally able to recognise in himself when he DOES care for someone, instead of developing the friendship, he decides to marry them and then thinks that will be enough to keep them. He treats them respectfully but more like dolls he gets to hang around with - to have on display on walks.
He becomes a better leader by becoming hyper-aware of his Follower's needs... but he is still ruthless and the cult are obedient through fear of him. They still say he treats them better than the old bishops though... well, some don't and they dissent.
Indeed the Lamb has a shaky hold onto power.
(He doesn't go the the Lonely Shack for at least half a century)
Perhaps then, his relationship with his eldritch master changes: the Lamb becomes more focused on the task set before him - defeating Shamura in a disassociated manner.
Finally he returns to TOWW for his reward and he is ordered to die again.
He feels like the gods are all just like the Fox - playing with the mortals hearts for their own gain always.
He is tired of being under their feet... so he fights instead and wins.
He has a choice to spare Narinder... and he chooses to spare him, thinking of how he did not spare Ratau. He meets the Mystic at the door and learns that he has become the new god of death... which is a lot to deal with.
Meanwhile, he returns to his cult and celebrated as their new god.
He sees how there are a lot of Followers who bully Narinder - as there has been a long time CULTure to 'peck' at newbies until they find their place... but for the first time the Lamb sees that he needs to make changes to the way he runs things.
In order to give Narinder protective status he marries him. It's a flash wedding that leaves the old god stunned and coming to terms with being one of several partners now living in a large hut, like a harem
But the Lamb does nothing to him, as he practically leaves 'his family' alone and it is Narinder who chooses to develop a friendship.
Dang. That's gonna be a lot of trauma for the eldritch kitty to unpack.
(Finally my brain has been satisfied enough that I can take a break from writing lol)

Narinder has had experienced raising traumatised boys, though he doesn't realise how Aym and Baal were like practice runs before dealing with the Lamb.
He always cared for and respected his vessels... but there was a barrier to his attempts to connect to the Lamb.
By the time he was able to be freed, Narinder thought that his vessel needed to be freed as well. He has seen before how extended life affects some mortals and the Lamb came to him broken to begin with.
(I'm not going with the idea that Narinder watched through the crown)
The Lamb was cocky and confident, always, until the last few times they visited due to being overwhelmed by Shamura's forces... when they were eerily quiet and obedient.
Narinder had planned to reward the vessel who freed him with long life and wealth.... but he thought then about releasing them from their pain instead.
He is angry to have been usurped, of course.... the Lamb did betray him... but Narinder is free. He was spared... there is more to this Lamb's strength of spirit than Narinder thought he knew.
He is looked after by the 'harem' he belongs to and he has at least got high-level status in the cult. He decides to find his place in his new life... whilst still feeling bitter about his betrayal... slowly losing his anger as the days, weeks and months pass by and he sees that in reality the Lamb needs help.

Imagine... Narinder is the only one of the Lamb's harem to have immortality. He also manages to convince the Lamb to stop marrying everyone, so he ends up being the last marriage.
It takes years for them to develop a decent friendship. During that time the Mystic tells Lamb about the bishops trapped in purgatory... it's been so long since Leshy was defeated that the Lamb pounces on the new challenge without thinking of how this would affect Narinder - or Leshy.
After the initial shock of seeing his brother appearing in the cult, Narinder has his first really heated argument with the Lamb... who uncharacteristically crumbles into an anxiety fuelled depression where he isolates from everyone
(The last time anyone argued with him that much was Ratau... and the Lamb just relives the trauma of losing someone he really cared about because he made a mistake.)
Because of the Lamb's reaction, Narinder steps up (with the remaining elder members of his harem) to take charge of the cult, whilst they figure out what is going on with the Lamb.
Leshy sees how Narinder is respected and adored by the cult and how responsible he is... he has a new vision of his brother... so they restore their bond fairly fast.
Narinder goes to the Lamb and apologises for his rage about Leshy... but maintains that the Lamb needs to talk to his flock more - and when it comes to his siblings, Narinder and Leshy want to be involved with the decisions about freeing them from purgatory too.
The Lamb reveals his trauma about Ratau.
Narinder now understands this big trigger and sees how his reactions need to be calmer.

The cat has a gae panic moment and then fishes a camelia out if their pocket and gives it to Leshy shyly and says "m-maybe." - and runs away flustered. Leshy looks at the camelia remembering slowly that you give flowers to people you feel affection towards... wonders why the heck the cat gave him it... and eats the camelia because they are AMAZING and heads home with new questions in his head about mortal things)

Welp. I guess the rest of the story is more of Narinder and the Lamb spending time together. The Lamb bringing home Heket and then Kallamar fairly close together... and them all spending time together like a new found family. The harem Elders die off one by one until the Lamb points out to Narinder after the funeral of his last spouse that he's the only one now.
Lamb: "No need to ever be jealous because I'm done with marriage."
Narinder: "you do remember, that we are still married...by your law."
Lamb: "i know... I like it being just us..."
The Lamb puts their hand in Narinder's and leans against them as they quietly reflect upon the graves of their spouses. Some graves are very old. Narinder and Lamb have already lived at least three lifetimes since the Lamb became the official god of death.
Lamb: "I guess you're immortal still... Like me."
Narinder (squeezing the Lamb's hand and trying to suppress his faster beating heart): "It looks that way..."
It is after then that they start to unconsciously be more attentive to each other and affection grows UwU

Totally understandable! When I first got the game I also thought Shamura was female until the rest of the bishops used they/them with them. My Shamura personally is a gynandromorphs and uses They them ^^
As for clothes, I'm not the best but I'll gladly help if you need any advice or tips! I adore clothes designing ^^

I like the idea now that Leshy still needs to eat dirt in order to maintain a healthy worm diet. A good dirt mix to him would be like a bowl of cookie mix.
Perhaps he gets ill often when he first acquires his new mortal form and then one day he just falls onto the field and instinctively shovels dirt into his mouth. Then he feels much better.
(This would mean he eats compost.... fertiliser..... poop.)

Nooo no he is in a new form - a mortal form that is anthropomorphic and his head is a bush.
He is no longer a worm.
Though he thinks about what it was like being a worm and wonders if he will ever magically go back to being a worm one day
He is kinda asking Dune: "if I became a worm again... would you still love me?"
And my in-game Leshy has the fear of death trait... so in this AU he thinks about death often... purgatory... whether anyone ever cared for him before... or if Dune really means what they say now. Would Dune mourn him? Would he still care if his form was reduced even more to that of a worm again?

I got so many ideas about my LeshyxDune story... I dunno how to start it... does anyone feel up to discussing ideas with me at some point?
Some things I already know are a part of Dune's story... but I had the thought today of
... OK so, he's one of the Followers that was resurrected by the Lamb. So he can relate to Leshy on that level - that they both experienced death and being given new life.
Dune was part of a family of merchants who travelled from desert lands but were massacred by Anura's religious Order, leaving kid Dune alive, as he was hiding under the broken caravan.
The Lamb discovers Dune - as happens in-game when you come across a frightened person who says their whole family were killed - and takes him.back to the Cult.
The Cult is still very young. Dune is one of the Lamb's first Followers and one time when the Lamb is out crusading, Dune becomes gravely ill and dies. It happens fairly suddenly and he is buried as the Lamb at that point does not know the resurrection ritual.
Maybe a year before Leshy is brought into the Cult, the Lamb resurrects Dune. It's been about 100 years since Dune's first life and he goes back to being a simple farmer.

BUT I HAD A THOUGHT...
....what if... Leshy was already in the Cult? ||What if he is digging somewhere and discovers BONES.... and what if he asks the Lamb to resurrect them.... but... the Lamb has no idea who it is because... it turns out Dune was one of the LAST MEMBERS OF TOWW'S PEOPLE? What if Dune remembers Narinder as his god that lived among the sacred grounds that was the land of the death god?||
The funny idea I had in this alternate scenario was Leshy being adamant he ||gets to keep whoever it is who is resurrected because HE found the bones THEY BELONG TO HIM||
Dune's backstory would still work but what if I just ||set his first life back 1000 years?||
OOOOHHHH WHAT IF ||Leshy as a young god saw Dune once when he and his siblings visited Narinder's Temple, and Dune was a kid too... maybe Dune bowed to him or served him food. Dune would have seen Leshy's eyes before the injury. Though they might not have had any more interaction than that, it's fun to think Dune would have that memory... and perhaps Leshy might recall that yellow cat standing out among the other cats in the cult (I imagine Narinder had a lot of cat followers) because he was exotic in appearance and accent.||
Honestly though, I'm not sure what idea to go with... and then... how do I start the story? With a flashback? A domestic daily scene in the field? ||Leshy and Dune waking up in bed together?|| ngl that last idea has stuck with me heheheh
I guess I'm fishing to see what others think... I feel like I could be making the story overly complicated by going with idea number 2...

Lol this idea about Leshy being like "FINDERS KEEPERS!" about this random ancient corpse he just discovered amuses me, especially as after the Lamb brings Dune back Leshy could still have that attitude that Dune is an object that belongs to him and declares him to be his personal servant from day 1.
The Lamb is obviously against that and so there would be this running gag of Leshy commanding Dune and Lamb reminding him "we don't keep slaves Leshy"

Exactly - the land is abundant with tabbies, black, white, greys. Dune is yellow/gold and stocky with a more square shaped head and smaller ears than the other cats. He is compact ^_^

In my game, if a Follower dies below the age of 40 I resurrect them almost automatically because I don't feel they've had a long enough life.
I'm thinking Dune is about... hmmm.... 25... ish... maybe.

Plus, the ship dynamic is usually the YellowCat being Leshy's caretaker... this way around it's Leshy sort of in the caretaker role but they are actually on neutral standing because both are 'new' to the cult... and even though Leshy has been there a while I think he doesn't explore beyond the farm areas because he hates these heathens he now lives with
