Reading the thoughts of your followers is great, what with all the hilarious thoughts you enabled them to have - but the method in doing so is a bit tedious.
In addition to being able to walk up to followers and interacting with them to read their thoughts - how neat would it be to be able to see their current or latest thoughts appear in a thought-bubble above their heads when walking near them?

I think I'd like it if it was done sims style, where instead of text you see a picture or icon related to the thought- like, if their thought is related to food, a bowl of food appears in the bubble, or if they had a good conversation, you see the icon with the two happy talking faces (like the ones when you take confession sometimes). And if you want more specifics, then you can go and read their minds.
...To be honest though, I rarely read the minds of my followers anyway.
