I've been working to flesh out My ver of Narinder and the Twins dynamic. For my fanfic.
As a god, Narinder considered the twins a welcome distraction from his predicament. He enjoyed having company even if it was children.
Honestly I think the Twins being children would bring out a different side to him. A vulnerable, paternal god who wished to nurture something that was not simply for his own benefit.
As a god, he could bend reality and people to his whim's by force or manipulation. He cared only for his own ambitions.
But to care for children, to raise them to be something be better versions of him, he would have to be milder, and more forthcoming.
The twins 'upbringing' was not perfect, though. Narendra was a stern, overbearing Teacher sometimes and wholly apathetic others.
His time as a god, reduced his capacity to be 'human' parental figure the boys needed. They sought comfort from him, and he allowed them to take it, but he never outwardly reciprocates them.
When the Twins die 'defending' him, Narinder shows no grief. A momentary loss that would be retifided later. It's only once he becomes "mortal" does Narinder realize just how much he cared about his disciples.
