Trial and error (this is the 4th time doing a pumpkin like this), renounced my soul , and patience ;o;

In all seriousness: having a clear plan before starting helps tremendously. I don't freehand those, i sketch em and then transfer them by poking lil holes in the pumpkin. Then i play a game of unlabled conect the dots and from there on out it's really just being careful with the tool ;o;

I usually also work in the dark with a strong light inside the pumpkin after a certain point, so i can see the values and know when to stop carving!

Took a screencap from the show -> figgured out how big of a pillow i want and colour matched the fabric to the screencap -> traced it to get the lineart -> printed that out in multiple sheets and taped those together -> traced all of the pieces onto pattern paper -> glued that onto carton so it's not so flabby -> traced all of those pieces onto the right coloured fabrics and cut those out -> then sewed it together -> trimmed the overlap and then embroidered the lineart onto the sewn lines -> sewed on the backing -> flipped and washed it -> stuffed it and closed up the hole on the bottom with a ladder stitch

and "bernette" is the name of my sewing machine

i use png tuber + and obs, did my lil sketch and decided what parts i want to be moving / reacting to the bounce. Then it's just cutting those pieces apart and finishing them separately (i reccomend using folders in folders keeps it more organized) and exporting everything (following a naming system here is also rly rly rly useful).

yeah nightshade and glaze got soooo much better
was completely unusable for my style at the start (just looked horrible) but now it's not even noticeable unless you zoom in / look real close most of the time hehe (those photos of the painting are poisoned and cloaked as well and you can't even rly see it)
