was it an enemy with a bow? there is an enemy who uses a bow that is shielded. you need to hit their attack back at them in a sort of dodgeball minigame. that breaks the shield

imo the enemy isnt too well designed. its difficult to understand that is what your supposed to do, and certain builds can make it impossible to deal with them (such as using the cursed fleece)
