My lamb was the youngest and smallest in their family- watching everyone get killed had been a horrific and terrifying affair but not once did they feel anger durring the entire thing.
Just fear
for the first time in their life they were alone- they had always been babied because as a child they had been sickly and small.
So when it came time for them to die they took solace in it, hoping to see their family again but instead they were given the option of revenge and for the first time ever did they feel anger (and love, because Narinder had given them this option bathed in blood yes bathed in pain and anger and blood)
They were still timid, they were still small, they held the sword sloppily but it felt as if the damned thing swung itself and soon enough they were rather proficient at cutting down enemies and sentencing them to the eternal hold down bellow.
The Lamb was scared.
They held Ratau as a father figure because even though they were 18 they were not ready for a life of war- who could be.
BUT YOU GET USED TO IT DONT YOU, yes you get used to it
Blood and violence and death you get used to be once your body begins to change? The Lamb didn't like it. They could no longer live off of fruit and vegtables and grass. They had to eat meat, their teeth grew inside their mouth and their tongue grew long. It was uncomfortable, they felt foreign in their own skin.
They didn't feel like a lamb, they felt like a beast in wool.
They were ashamed, they hated themselves, they often wished for this to be over and each bishop they killed did little to aleviate the agony of existing but you know what did?
Narinder. Who assured them that this was the proper path, that following him was the way to salvation and to end this all.
They put all their hope into him, and as they did so the anger began to bleed. Between the nightmares and there growing body- growing where it couldnt, catching up on years of illness and exhaustion. They were tall, horns longer, much more self assured. They were kind and understanding and melancholy at times but they were loving truly they were.
And once the bishops were dead and Narinder had joined them, they were a little bit arrogant but only because their life had changed and for once, as they held Narinder's hand, were they truly complete.
