I don't mind playing with an inexperienced player if they're nice but I get incredibly frustrated at players who don't act in a fashion I enjoy
I know I can be a little reckless (as a Vee main I just can't help the danger) but I never try to do something to ruin a run on purpose
Plus even being a little reckless, I can usually handle my own well enough, know how to get out of danger and usually survive a long time and being the one of if not the last to die in a run

Yes, his head and body can operate separately. His head can only float when it's near his neck though so if it's removed in some way, it'll fall on the ground.
Most demons don't need to eat but all can eat including him
If separated, his body is not lost and can actually follow where his head goes easily. However, you might not want to do that since he can be INCREDIBLY vengeful if that happens

The au is set about 1030~ years before the events of the game, at a time where Narinder was still around and The Bishops were 5 pillars within the lands. However, the story centers not on them, but the disciples and followers under them. It focuses on the life they lead as well as the struggles they end up facing when their leaders break into conflict and falling apart. We see the problems that face mortals as they try to keep found familial bonds in a broken world, friends turn to enemies and starts what would eventually become what the game is
