My boy Alaunus doesn't use physical weapons like the other disciples as he was given the ability to use magic or, in the case of the game, "curses", as it's something the others don't have the ability to use!

He's mainly a healer but can kick ass if he needs to!

All disciples are given a gift from their crown when they are adopted into the ranks. The crown's gift is not the same every time as it's unique to the individual and the crown

Alaunus was given the ability to use curses to his advantage as, being under Kallamar, it helps with healing/pestilence, but also because Alaunus is probably the most chill of all the current disciples. Weapons and fighting are things that are a last resort for him so it fits his personality!

Mentamori's gift, being under Narinder/The Red Crown, granted them immortality so they cannot grow old and he may continue to use them as long as he needs

I won't reveal the others just yet until their cards are done but that's a bit of it!!

Like, for example, Mentamori's strength with The Red Crown's domain being death made them immortal but if they were to be under a different crown, their gift would have been different because other crowns cannot give such a powerful gift

Hm, well trying to think about it I might not give them all but I can give a couple of examples!

Crowns will usually give an ability similar to that of their bearer in some way. Like if Lucinda were to be under Shamura and be their disciple, the crown might gift her the ability to sense danger before it happens because of how Shamura can see the future and being able to know your opponent's moves beforehand would be useful in battle/war!

However, there are exceptions like I'd imagine under Kallamar, she'd probably be able to manifest more weapons to use in a short duration of time or under Heket and Leshy, might boost something that's a natural ability of hers (think of a strength and speed boost respectively)!

Though those are some of my thoughts, I wrote everyone's abilities in the au to be exclusively tailor-made to fit the story so things would definitely lean to be more unique depending on certain circumstances!

So what's this au about?

This au is called "The Disciples of The Old Faith" and essentially details what took place 1000+ years before the game with the lead up of Narinder's imprisonment and the beginning of the prophecy that lead to the slaughter of the lambs

In a little more detail, it follows the lives of the 5 disciples underneath the bishops. Mostly on how the effects of the gods affects them and those they were meant to help lead.

I’m guessing the wool would get in the way of any armor (plus the look is already pretty sick) so maybe a greatsword instead? (Montante, spadone, zweihander, flamberge, etc)

They are skilled in all sorts of weapons and shields though I think they really like the types of items that keep them able to move around. They're more of a tank class cause of their big appearance and brute strength but not in their style of fighting

For the most part yea, they can take a lot of hits. Not indestructible but it takes a bit for sure

I haven't, though I guess I mostly went with this combo cause I genuinely really love gauntlets and drawing them. Though they're not exactly the greatest in terms of combat which is where the buckler helps in protecting when need be

You could incorporate kicks into their fighting style. Like I said before, their unguligrade structured legs would make for a pretty powerful kick

(Unguligrade would be like how goats or horses’ legs are structured)

It’s this huge pig guy who’s built like a minotaur, and he has this giant sword spear

Also it's based on the fact that Mori's height is based on Aym and Baal's who are incredibly tall and, in my hc, the reason Narinder and everyone in the game are so small when they get in the cult is cause they're molded by The Lamb who is tiny so here he has the liberty to be tol (but not as tall as Mori)
