I'm quite glad that I'm teaching myself to take regular hiatus breaks. Such as the one I'm gonna do right now. This may become an important life skill.

I'll probably be a bit less active here for a time. Maybe I won't be totally gone, but I'm gonna step just a bit further away so that I have time and space to breathe. I've been over-thinking and worrying about things that I can't tell whether or not they're true about me. Well, I did ask around, and as it turns out, that's a red flag that I'm now going to teach myself to catch. So that I know when it's time for some more self-care.

Thank you all for the overwhelming adoration you've shown to me about my first pop song. It's not complete yet, and neither is it the only song I'm working on. But if you can believe it, I was actually terrified to share it at first--but all of your commentary and support really helped me to feel better about what kind of a song I've started writing, and you have my wholehearted thanks.

Please also notice that which I'm realizing for myself. Take breaks. Take breaks. Preoccupation with cyberspace has its hazards, and I guess I ran into enough hazards to warrant a vacation.

LORE OF SIYKEDYILLE

There are two kinds of angels in Siykedyille; Seraphim and Nephilhim. Seraphim are glorified "Risen Angels" who remained loyal to The Author of Creation, and Nephilhim are disgraced "Fallen Angels" who have become corrupted beyond salvation.

Both varieties of angels are eldritch, meaning their appearances are unfathomable to mortal eyes, and they have to change their shape so as to become viewable by lesser beings, including High Elves, who are often mistaken in Siykedyille to be angels themselves. One of the more commonly depicted shapes of angels are as spheres of light or shadow that hum and float around.

Angels also have access to a second transformation, where they appear to be like dragons. Seraphim Dragons resemble dutch angel dragons, and are more feminine, cheerful, playful, benevolent beings. Nephilhim Dragons are more masculine, menacing and deformed dragons that want for nothing but to rampage and slaughter.

Loremaster Selria was a Seraphim who went into Siykedyille on a mission that would be crucial to Siykedyille's history. They were one of the most powerful loremasters in Siykedyille's history, and to blend in with mortal kind, they took the incarnation of a dutch angel dragon.

DWARF LORE

Dwarves are normally half human height, but still larger than halflings. But when they have to defend their homes, they can wear steampunk mech suits to be larger and stronger. Dwarven armies have been known to terrify people by the appearance of the uncanny mask-visors of their combat armor.

Smarfs are small pets that dwarves use as guards and helpers. They resemble tiny gnomes with dog heads.

Dwarves are greedy for wealth, but share the wealth collectively. They especially prize gold for it being a valuable resource in building their more advanced machines.

Dwarves are also notorious pirates and bootleggers.

Smol update.

While my laptop's out of commission, I'm browsing and saving various textures, patterns, and backgrounds for studying. I'm planning to learn how to implement stock textures into some of my doodles to experiment with texture layers, opacity, and patterns. My hope is for those such new techniques to make my more polished artwork to pop out and give more life into depictions of the world of Siykedyille, and make it look even closer to how I visualize it in my head.

I'm still pretty bummed out about my laptop lacking a charging cord at the moment, but there is a backup laptop that I'm thinking about using. If I don't get a new charger by next week, I think I'll dust that other hand-me-down off, and try to get MuseScore on it so that I can at least make some music to pass the time.

I'm writing more new Siykedyille characters because I can't draw them yet. But I'll appreciate the help of anyone who wants to join me in examining and visualizing the new concepts I'm playing with. No pressure though. I'm not in a hurry.

This is an excellent headcanon sample of what happens when a Seraphim and a Nephilhim encounter each other. The deep masculine voice represents the nephilhim (fallen angel), and the higher feminine voice represents the seraphim (risen angel).

As sworn enemies since the defection of the Dark Lord Nephyreis (also known as The Hat Man), seraphim and nephilhim are opposites in both nature and appearance.

However, as seraphim and nephilhim were once both the same kindred kind, they still have mutual understanding of each other as though like family. So in most confrontations between the two, they tend to communicate with each other through poetry much like this, in an attempt to intimidate each other. When such an exchange does not cause either of them to flee, the encounter escalates to direct combat.

As both seraphim and nephilhim are otherworldly beings, mortal folk who bear witness to just one of either of them tend to be so awed or horrified that they can either die, or go insane. Having both a seraphim and a nephilhim in the same place, their wills set against each other for the fate of Siykedyille, only amplifies the danger of approaching too close.

These are excellent examples of the thought processes of mortal beings who have had the misfortune of encountering undisguised seraphim/nephilhim. When either such creature takes on a dragon-like shape, they filter out most of the mind-breaking effects of their presences. But in their more abstract shapes, standing near either such being is hazardous to those who behold.

Depending on proximity and duration of exposure, mortals who see seraphim or nephilhim in their more "true" abstract shapes will suffer varying degrees of illness that mainly attack the mind. The result is varying degrees of confusion, memory loss, decline in mental functioning, paranoia, persistent nightmares and hallucinations, and existential dread. Those who have been mentally damaged by a seraphim or nephilhim in their truer-forms can only slowly recover from such symptoms by a maximum of about 33%.

In more severe cases of the same metaphysiological phenomenon, the mind of a beholder can become so broken that it even affects the body physically, such as decline in overall health, motor functions, balance and coordination, toxin buildup, and organ failure. Fun Facts about Meredith:

Meredith's cranial dome houses her brain, which floats in a bubbling green fluid. Meredith's cranial dome occasionally glows or flashes with sparks when she's thinking, from the electromagnetic pulses going through her neural pathways.

Meredith's heart has a little dial on it that measures her heart rate and blood pressure for all to see. It tends to rise when Meredith is exercising, or feeling strong emotions.

Meredith has (One? Two?) long strands hanging from the back of her head. They function primarily as her hairstyle, but have a secret use as cranial cords to hook her up into her incubation chamber for rejuvenation. Meredith is plugged into robotnic cords, which connect to her head strands to receive fresh green fluid for her brain, as well as administer fresh blood, nutrients, medicines, and fresh electromagnetic pulses to wake her from stasis.

Meredith can't fly because she's never been let outside by her dad, Doctor Eugene Klump. He's over-protective of her, fearing for her being hurt or corrupted when allowed into the outside world. Meredith respects these wishes obediently, usually content to stay indoors, although the sad part is she doesn't know what wonderful experiences she misses out on by remaining in isolation at Dr. Klump's lab.

Meredith is a daughter figure to Dr. Klump, but also a test subject for the study of alien biology. Meredith has Klump or his fellow lab assistants waiting on her constantly, and she feels more like she passively exists rather than being like a person. This depersonalizes her to her environment, so when Meredith has new experiences, even the mundane can strike her with awe, since she's usually cut off from the outside world.

Meredith's heart has an electrical battery. She can sleep or take naps to conserve the energy of his battery, but otherwise must regularly return to her incubation chamber to recharge her heart's battery.

Moar Facts:

Doctor Eugene Klump's dream was to have a daughter. However, he never grew any taller since middle school, so because of his shortness, he couldn't find love. The solution? BUILD A daughter! And build a daughter he did, with cybernetic technology and the stolen body parts of alien cadavers in the morgue that he stitched together.

Dr. Klump is incredibly strict and overprotective of Meredith. He doesn't allow her to experience anything outside of their experiments. Despite his strictness, Dr. Klump genuinely loves Meredith. Calls her his "baby girl" a lot, caring dearly for her safety and well-being. He's terrified of anyone taking Meredith out of containment where she could be harmed or corrupted by the outside world.

Meredith is almost a basket case. She has no aspirations or goals in life, and usually operates based on what she's told to do or believe by whoever is in front of her. She's gullible and naive. She hasn't experienced much of the outside world, so doesn't think much of life, seeing as how she always has people waiting on her, and refusing to let her leave the lab.

Dr. Klump has jotted down many notes from observations of Meredith's vital signs during their experiments, drawing comparisons of her physiology and how it changes in response to external stimuli, and internal stimuli such as hunger, tiredness, emotions, and exercise. Dr. Klump is incredibly careful not to let any physical harm come to Meredith, and has a mental meltdown when she so much as gets a scratch on her.

Meredith views the world with the awestruck wonder of a young child. She has the mental faculties of an adult, but is used to having a very boring, uneventful, quiet, shut-away life. Any and every time she has a glimpse of something new, it's like an epic revelation to her. Dr. Klump is VERY careful trying to keep Meredith sheltered, but who knows if someday she'll step outside and see how much there really is to life?

Chronicles of Siykedyil short notes:

Golrek Bloodstorm is a demigod of the Jungle Orcs, mightiest of all orcish kind in Siykedyil. He is said to be the fulfillment of a religious legend among the jungle orcs, of the pinnacle of their values coming to life in the form of the mightiest warrior ever to exist. When Golrek was born with a large scar-like birthmark acrost his chest, all who witnessed were shaken.

Golrek is a hulking brute, easily towering over other orcs at a height anywhere around the six-foot range. But when he taps into his berserker rage during battle, arcane tattoos glow across his body, and his green skin gradually reddens. The angrier Golrek gets, his height, muscle mass, and lust for violence and chaos grows and grows. When he reaches maximum rage, his skin is completely red, and he is a dreadful threat to everyone around him, friend or foe.

Beyond having the brutal, high-conflict personality typical of most orcs, Golrek Bloodstorm can be described as a beast-minded brute. He is obsessed with slaughtering and warfare, and even more so with making himself stronger through both training and combat. Golrek eschews any kind of sustenance other than meat--including that taken from his fallen enemies. Golrek's favorite food is eggs--he absolutely must eat every egg on-sight. One of his only ambitions besides endless warfare is to eat the egg of a dragon--the sheer power of which he believes will transform him into an unstoppable force, thence fully living up to his legend as a godlike force of destruction.

Golrek laughs at your puny armaments! Disdaining weapons and armor, this behemoth wears basic armor that allows him full agility and does not restrain the growth of his body when he powers up. He also prefers to fight with bare fists and brute strength, using his sheer size and girth to both deal and tank incredible amounts of damage.

Epsilon is a one of a kind being, who is best known in legend as The Singularity Incarnate. He resembles a kobold with golden scales, while in fact being the perfect fusion between organic flesh-and-blood, and synthetic biocybernetic technology borrowed from the dwarves, all the way down to the cellular level.

Epsilon speaks in a monotonous voice that is somewhat dry of emotion in a way that resembles a text-to-speech voice. He tends to speak with technical terms, but is very direct and blunt with his words. The emotions he does exhibit are subtle and nuanced, since he otherwise has a brain that functions like a supercomputer.

Epsilon's main powers involve his ability to utilize the full power of his mind--the result is Psychomancy, a telekinetic variant of magic with anomalous but powerful properties. Beyond this however, his biocybernetic body can also allow him access to numerous other abilities, such as rapidly regenerating damage, attacking with pure energy, being able to adjust his vision mode at will, and sensing the electromagnetic pulses of the world around him so that he can track someone down based on their energy.

Epsilon's ambition is twofold. He wants to study Siykedyil to uncover the secrets of nature--and particularly, he desires to study the strongest fighters in Siykedyil, so that he can tinker with his body to imitate their powers and abilities. Epsilon is also interested in helping other worthy combatants further improve their skills in combat, and during a battle, he allows his opponent regular periods of rest so that they can regain their strength if they're getting tired. Epsilon doesn't fight to win--he fights to study what his foe is capable of.

On top of being an amazingly adaptable creature, Epsilon has a dignified arrogance to him, in knowing that his evolution will never end, so long as he can still live. A simple matter, given how he can reincarnate himself from an incubation chamber if he ever dies.

I learned a new breakfast trick.

When you have coffee and a doughnut at the cafe, cut the doughnut into smaller pieces with a knife and fork. Then, pick up one of the doughnut pieces, and dunk it in the coffee while holding it on the fork.

No mess, no fuss, civilized, polite, and best of all, wonderfully odd. It may turn some heads, but then the eyeballs on those heads will be bearing witness to the most awesome breakfast trick of all time.

Foxweasels are little creatures with long tails and little snouts. They live in burrowed tunnels beneath the ground and crawl out to look for food or predators. A group of foxweasels is called a skulkboogle. Foxweasels often live in colonies in the tunnels they dig underground, with their distinct vulpine head shape only barely having morphed to better squeeze its way through tunnels and dens. Sometimes when a human being approaches their tunnel network and sits down, the skulkboogle of foxweasels may emerge from the holes in the ground one by one and either escape or investigate the intruder. They make tiny chirping and squeaking noises, and have a yap when they are distressed. Foxweasels can be fiercely territorial and can approach intruders aggressively, both fearful and curious and ready to defend their homes in a pinch. A gentle visitor however will let the foxweasels climb on them and make no sudden movements, and if they're lucky, they can earn their trust and they'll be friends.

REJOICE! Fanimatronic lore be upon ye!!

The Mary animatronic at Freddy's lives in the "Sleepy Teatime Corner," which is less noisy. It's a safe, calm place, perfect for when someone is having a meltdown or getting sensory overload. Mary sings nursery rhymes, hosts tea parties, and tells poetic stories. She makes for a more comforting, cozy day at Freddy Fazbear's. Mary is symbolically the baker of the Fazbear cast, often depicted baking cake, cookies, and chocolate brownies for the guests. Mary also has the special feature of making her eyes glow rainbow. The rainbow eyes help add to the effect of Mary being a witch during her narratives, but she also uses them to soothe those with challenges related to their attention span. She likes using her rainbow eyes to help people do deep breathing exercises for stress relief.

Mary has a glitch in her voice module that causes occasional pitch bend and slowdowns. The employees have tried to solve it for a while, but Mister Afton eventually decided that they'd keep the glitch to add character. So, an inside joke goes among the employees that the lollipop Mary munches on is "frying her circuits," to explain her slurred voice.

When Mary appears on the cameras, she isn't as interested in murdering the player as she is in taking the player to her part of the pizzeria to have a tea party. While this is an innocent gesture at first, the fact of the matter is that she's inviting Mr. Fazbear and his friends to the same tea party, resulting in a game over. Mary's presence alerts the other animatronics too, meaning that she'll aggravate the player's efforts to remain hidden by drawing Freddy and his friends to where she is.

Mary is not an aggressor, but a disruptor somewhat like Balloon Boy. She has innocent intentions, but is unaware of how she actually frustrates the player's efforts--not to mention dooming them to their fate if they pull the player into their tea party where Freddy and his friends will be waiting for them too.

Fanimatronic lore:

Mary has several functions geared towards calming sensitive people in therapeutic ways. Her costume and model are made plush and fuzzy to give gentle, soothing hugs and safely restrain those who are convulsing in a meltdown. Mary can also hum and sing quiet lullaby's, and make purring noises and heartbeat noises to soothe the crying and frightened. She also uses her rainbow eyes to draw focus from people through eye contact to lead them through deep breathing exercises. In function, Mary was designed by William to accommodate neurodiverse children that may have trouble in busier more chaotic environments.

Sleepy Teatime Corner was made as a quieter, calmer place away from loud noises and flashing bright lights. Here, there are some tables, but also many comfy bean bag chairs, blankets, pillows, and dimmer lights for relaxation. It is a small enough space that it's tucked away in a corner, viewable by one camera. This is where Mary begins each night, lying down asleep on the couch.

Mary is smaller and shorter than Freddy and his friends, but as a disruptor type animatronic, she is a blurse on the player. Mary can draw the other characters nearer to her by engaging in conversations related to Mary inviting everyone over for a tea party. This means that Freddy and his friends can be pulled towards or away from where the player is, depending on where Mary is.

Mary has a security function where her eyes flash rapidly and she emits an ear-piercing beep like a smoke detector. This function disorients would-be intruders through sensory overload. The irony of this function for site security purposes in a therapy-oriented character was a deliberate design choice by Mr. Afton. Nonetheless, it is this shrieking eye flash that comprises Mary's "jumpscare," as she then proceeds to delicately carry the now disoriented, faint, dizzy player to Sleepy Teatime Corner by their shoulder, where Freddy and his friends are waiting for them. Game over.

Of course, Love Me Do will always be another fav. My mom used to play it all the time when she was out doing chores when I was a tike. Not only is Love Me Do the first song the Beatles ever released as a joint effort between John and Paul, but it was the first of their music I ever heard, too.

Short Status Update

I must express deep appreciation and thankfulness for your checking in on me.

It has been a very long and difficult month, and I'm glad I allowed myself some time away so that I could tackle it easier.

I have decided to spend some time ruminating about a new direction that I can take Chronicles Of Siykedyil: Mysteries In Creation, which will allow me to tell much richer, more meaningful stories through the medium of my artistic talents.

I also decided to address a struggle I started living with, which I ignored for far too long. Thankfully, I have taken the time to get help, and build a support network.

I have also found an in-person art group, that I intend to start attending soon in a bid to regain my passion for doing artwork, in a safe, supportive environment.

Most impactful of all of what happened this month was learning a secret that changed my perspective about my entire upbringing. An enormous amount of my childhood trauma is healing one day at a time, and I'm still allowing myself time to process it.

I want to regain my passion and my discipline for doing artwork. I can't make confident promises, but I do intend to drop by now and again with more sketches sooner or later. I miss all of you dearly, but what I've been doing for myself this month has required my full attention, and I'm glad I committed my full attention to it.

I have opened the blinds of my windows.

I went outside for a walk with a neighbor this morning. Then when I returned home, the natural sunlight has visibly changed the vibes of my home.

It feels more... Inviting here now. I may keep things this way for a while. Maybe even forever.

I went to a park for a walk this morning when it was bright. It was very enjoyable.

I went to the same park again later this afternoon.

... The autumn clouds darkened the forest. Walking among the darker trees... Filled me with a sense of dread and gloom. I was actually scared and had to turn back.

... So... I think I've seen for myself today how lighting makes a difference in an environment.

... It may just be time for me to grow out of being accustomed to darker environments. I have seen how a change of lighting impacts my mood.

I think I'll keep my blinds open.
