Corrupted save file?

Version Number: 1.0.1.49

Bug Description: When starting the game it shows the correct save with correct playtime, day, follower number, etc. etc. But when I go into the game I spawn into an empty new game (as if right after the tutorial) and get asked about the difficulty level. If I chose the difficulty I just continue in an empty world. Everything is reset/gone. This means that I lost over 8 hours of playtime. Already reported it on the official bug report page, but wanted to check here too (actually writing on behalf of my girlfriend and she is very sad)

What did you do to make the bug appear?: I saved the game the day before. In the morning I was asked to update the game I updated it to the newest 1.0.1.49 version. The issue happened upon the next start-up of the game.

Are you able to re-produce the bug? If so, how?: No.

Unfortunately on Nintendo Switch, there's nothing to do but erase your game and start over. On PC there is a backup folder with other saves to go back to but not on Switch. ):

So you think it's a permanent corruption? No way it will fix itself with the next update? Just grasping at straws I guess😅

It's definitely permanent corruption, your save file lost all it's data (hence why you can't see any buildings or anything.)

There's no way to recover, I don't think Switch even does cloud saves or anything. There's no backup save.

You could put it down for a while, there's a big patch coming up soon that should solve pretty much every bug.
