Hi! So! We're a dissociative identity disorder system, and we would like to request for Pluralkit to be added to the discord server. This is a bot that allowss for systems to be able to proxy messages, and for differentiation to be made between alters. It counts as an accessibility bot, and we could also help out with the rules and regulations relating to the bot itself if needed.

I think they won't add it due to the fact it's hard to moderate especially with the amount of people in this server!

It's not hard to moderate if you know what you're doing with it, we used to run a server with a lot of people in it, over 2k, and with the rules we had in place it was easy to moderate

Rules being things like requiring a system tag, having a role specifically for systems to have access to the channel for pluralkit, etcetera
Its not hard to moderate if you know what you're doing

But that's hoping people will follow the rules about a system tag and such. Also the fact that this is a server for a video game not a system server specifically for systems and may just add unnecessary drama such as Syscourse and fakeclaimers

There's also the built in function of pluralkit, if you react with a question mark, it shows you who sent the message

Hello! Thank you for your suggestion to add Pluralkit to the server. While we appreciate the suggestion, we will not be adding this bot to the server at this time. While I understand it can be useful to send a message in the server as a different identity, or to roleplay, it is not something we are looking to add to the server right now.

I understand that it has tools in place so moderators can find out who sent any given message, but it does add an extra step, and therefore more adds friction between a malicious message and a mod action. Even if you have only a small amount, say 5 members roleplaying in chat and it turns into a heated argument, it is going to take quite a while before the mod has a proper map of everything that has been said and by who.

Moderation aside, I think if members want to send messages as their alters, or to roleplay as a different character, it is possible to so by changing your nickname, using a different profile pic, or even using the Switch Accounts feature, which can be accessed in the leftmost corner

I'm super late to this, since I was curious about the suggestion of pluralkit as a system myself 💚

I would like to clarify informatively as both a lamb member and an OSDD member that PluralKit is not used for Roleplay. And if it is being used for such, that is not the purpose of the bot. Tupperbox on the other hand, is solely for RP and we recommend that for RP related things

I also used to mod in a large server that previously had PK and I moderate a medium server with the PK bot in question. I would be more than honored to better educate the importance of it if willing. But will not force either 🫂

Again, I know it's a random reply to an old message, but I'm willing to help 💚

While I am aware that Pluralkit is used for other purposes, the reason I mention roleplay above is because the overwhelming majority of the time someone asks for this bot to be added to the server, it is for roleplay purposes. While the bot may be used for other purposes too, even the Pluralkit website says it is great for roleplaying.

The bot works by deleting a member's message, then sending a new one as the bot. This is a huge issue as it would add unnecessary clog to our logs, and make it harder for moderators to find useful information when they are investigating issues in the server. Furthermore, it honestly makes the chat harder to read, especially when multiple people are chatting at the same time as messages as shifted upwards and downwards frequently as they are being deleted by the bot.

I understand this bot can be genuinely useful for some people, however we are unfortunately not looking to add it at this time. Members are free to edit their user profile or use a second account if they wish to change who they chat as.
