So all the shells do different things

Conch shells are for the "pre splatfest" gain 1 every catalouge level, use em for gatcha machine
They dissappear after end of splatfest

Festival shells are gained each time you win a 10x battle and increase the chance for a 100x to trigger
They dissappear after the 100x triggers

Sea Snail Shells are rewarded after splatfest depending on rank and winning team, they're used with Murch for different things (things that show the icon)
These are permanent

So, in splatoon 2 the winning team got on average 1-3 more shells depending on rank
So if you were just a fiend and won you got 3, losers got 2
But if you were ruler then it was like, 24 for winner, 21 for loser or somethin like that

Due to Splatoon 1 not having any bans for people CONSTANTLY DISCONNECTING AFTER LOSSES Splatoon 2 decided to ban players after a certain amount of DCs from your side

Yea NSO is trash but people who DCs during the game were the worse

Unfortunately this comes at the cost of feeling like you were banned unfairly because of bad connection

Well csgo is a PC game, when you lose connection, it's mainly your own fault (as in, you have a bad router or something like that)
