A rule on whether we are allowed the old 100% on ROTOF

I tried to do the downpatch last night but it just said it was downloading for ages and idk how fast it should be

In theory you would be allowed to do 100% run with new patch, but it would be automatically neo-100%, since in order to do 100%, you would have to have all things unlocked. It is also slower to do with previously stated new follower forms, seremon levelups, relics etc, so idk why anyone would want to do that

I added the following recommendation to the rules to clarifty it a bit:

It is recommended to run this category with game version 1.1.5 or older. If you are planning on running newer versions of the game, check Neo-100% category.

the downpatch isn't working the way it should, the damage in the first room is either mostly oneshot, or consistent with regular patch

like in the tutorial? early patch difficulty works weird, where the difficulty of the tutorial depends on what the difficulty of the immediate previous save is (or if you're starting from a new session, it defaults to medium)

yep! so the best thing to do with any new game session is to quickly open a save file that's already set to easy, and then escape and start a new game.

Make sure you don't check that your new game has properly been set to easy when in the tutorial, doing so will automatically set it back to normal

You just gotta trust the process haha

You can check if it's worked when you gain full control of the lamb and start running down and to the right the rocks you break should be one shottable if on easy

yep, you can downpatch to any patch that's been released as long as you have the right numbers. there's some good "how to downgrade steam games" tutorials if you google that.

Depends on the speedrun. In any% game ends on first credits scroll. (Giving your crown to TOWW)

Bishops% ends after "recruiting" all bishops and recieving the dead god's fleece.

100% categories end when you have gotten everything

Leshy, Martiage and Sacrafice categories end when their goal is met.

just did my first quickstart run clocked in at 1:08:29

• No ratau anything or tutorial anything
• Controls feel smoother and less sticky
• All basegame weapons, Relics and curses unlocked from the beginning - so no tarot or relic cutscenes
• The two followers that you have to kill in shamuras realm spawn real early (thats never happened to be before) so i left to save them
• Luck feels better with clear paths??? its hard to guarentee this tho
• Narindars chest is open from the beginning

i fished for 5 ingame days and got 4 squid drops each day

defs not rng

i saved my game, quit to menu and then loaded my save again and got a crab on 2nd fishing attempt

so looks like the fishing loot table gets re-rolled when re-loading your game and not after ingame day cycle

also doesnt look like your restricted to one rare fish with each potential loot table, just got crab and then lobster back to back

ok just got crab, lobster and octopus all in one days fishing

maybe initial fishing loot table in limited to one? then after reset it randomises fully?

i ended up trying a different file and was having similar issues -- wound up reinstalling the entire game to get it working again. so, a bit different than what happened to you, except that fishing loot tables can be a sorta glitchy area potentially.

not in Penitence Mode, the one that gives you hunger and sleep. not only does it give you omnipresence from the beginning and starts you from a quick start position, but

• no hearts from the bishops at all (this also seems to mean no resurrection / non-omnipresence heart abilities?)
• accordingly, no cheering animation when you return to the cult post-bishop
• no bishop rooms at all. so, no hungry/sick followers from Heket/Kallamar. notably, no followers lost to Shamura.
• post-game seems to play out as normal -- you beat TOWW, ???? shows up and locks the doors. didn't get all the way to Leshy 2 to check, but i'd guess you still recruit everyone like normal.
  i just did a 1:02:47 any% and i made some silly mistakes based on muscle memory lol. the lack of bishop interactions whatsoever probably makes it the fastest, even with having to go make a meal every so often, though i could also see the argument that it's sorta a new game+?

Hi, I'm a new player and speedrunner of cult of the limb, are there any techniques or stuff like that to learn or do you just have to learn by heart?

The number one tip is to avoid cult managment as much as possible. It is time losing activity, though if they are starving to death or dying of illness, then intervining is better than letting them die, unless you have truck ton of followers in queue.

What categories are you interested in running to give you the best tips as possible?

Some very important things for attempting 100%

1. sozo’s quest line requires 67 mushrooms in total. some farm land should be built to grow mushrooms and they take several days.
2. all area blueprint and follower forms can be bought in shops. The danger come from the general blueprint and followers theres a total of 13 general blueprint not unlocked in the shrine. There are 3 general followers that must be found on crusades (unicorn, red panda, and pangolin) they will only appear after all followers form for an area are acquired.
3. devotion is the hurdle of the run. Everything that can help boost devotion generation should be done. That includes constantly trying to level followers during most of the run. The exception is ritual of enrichment (Possessions 3 doctrine) its too broken
4. the run requires at least 40 gold bars and 5 stone block. Refinement tables need to be built to prepare these in advance
5. as mentioned earlier helob must be met 4 times over the entire run, as well as fourneus, ratsalka, and ratoo (he only sells his tarot card after beating heket). You do not want to run out of required crusades and then need to go back for them.

i feel like the weapon/curse generation in the newest patch has been. weird. i had an any% (penitence) run where literally half of my starting weapons were gauntlets and i never saw a sword once even mid-crusade. curses felt similarly same-y though i didn't note those specifically.

We minimize the cult managment and go for crusades as much as possible, because that is how one gets to the credits

My first cotl any% run took 3 hours, now I can run it for like 1 hour 20 mins

Beat TOWW and do everything quest and rng related stuff in post game
