A) you don't have to feed them
B) you can skip all the post-bishop Cheers

but we do want the time to progress, don't we? Spider dude only refreshes once a day in overworld and I think for like all bishops you need to run ceremonies to get lvl 4, 7 and 10 followers fast

I believe quitting to the menu refreshes shops. Not that that will be quicker then having time flow normally. Someone should experiment with setting and see exactly what it effects.

Correct. I go to the fishing spot and back to cult - can't use the teleporter again. Super weird! I have to go into dungeon and teleport out or quit back to menu.

Prioritizing confession booth in the devotion tree seems good, that gives a full level every day which is sick, gotta do some math with resources and figure out how many mats to stack.

Also i would hold your breath for bypassing the door. Door skips weren’t possible before, i doubt they are now. I guess it would have remove the loading zones when the doors appear. Has anyone tried OOBsing them?

The only OOB thing that has been found was the early base exit after the kitchen tutorial you could go further past the load zone but it's just a void behind essentially so nothing really helpful there

Interesting… you still do the full process for indoctrinating a follower. And your number doesn’t skip a number.

This is on par with the ratau dialogue trick to gain control sooner then normal

The only part that save time is that you were able to move to the cooking pot during the indoctrination. You’d only save time for each session you recruit followers.

My any% times are pretty similar to my usual times, but 100% times will be at best doubled

Not quite that bad. We go from 20 crusades to 36 and now have more time so we wont have to grind devotion.

It is probably a 7 hours run though.

at least now with the new dlc content there is new routing to test and discover, so theres always that if youre wanting to tackle something new

or you could also try out one of the side catagories like knucklebones% which are a nice change of pace from the base game

So, I've wanted to do 100% for a while, but I think that I need to improve my combat skills. So, I was thinking of playing a smaller category like Marriage% or Sacrafice%. Would that be a good idea, or should I try doing any% runs instead?

So 100% needs to unlock all crown abilities which actually makes it the easiest from a difficulty standpoint.

Other speed runs ignore doing sermons as they cost time you dont make back with the upgrades.

100% is not an interesting TOWW fight. If the run is done correctly you are guaranteed a max level godly weapon that just demolishes him.

I think the timing would start as usual and end when you recieve the 2nd TOWW reward (either Nadir follower or the statue) And well, you want to spare him. I think it would make sense that all need to be recruited

You get a second credits after getting all bishops it feel like that becomes the cleanest stopping point.

Managing cult levels is definitely a major component of the run. I honestly could see this being a popular category due to putting effort in all aspects of the game.

Thats a small optimization i should add to 100%.

In my past runs ive done A2 before killing Leshy which makes it so heket appears and automatically spawns enemies. If leshy is dead she’ll ask you to bow and you can skip the fight. if kalamar or shamara are dead then she wont spawn at all

Essentially cutscenes where shamara would appear are skipped if they’re already dead. I believe shamara only appears outside of SK in A2 and AD4

So any% NMG would want to do DW1-4 -> A1 -> AD1+2 -> SK1-4 -> AD3+4 -> A2-4.

Oh wait no. Cause you still want to unlock a fleece. So you should do A2 as the 6th crusade and by that point you’ve already seem shamara

I usually have 7 followers by the time I open hekets door
So maybe Anura 1, and anchordeeper 1 would help bring me up to 12

It would be straying from my usual route quite a bit but it might save time idk

If i did follower math correctly you need to do 2 crusades in AD.
You get 2 followers from tutorial stuff you get a boss follower from every 1, 2 and 3 crusades and you can find a follower in every 2, 3 and 4 crusades. So in theory you can get 6 followers in each area

8 followers after DW. 9 after A1. 10 AD1. 12 after AD2

I’m going to do a Bishop% run tomorrow. I’m going to treat it as though these are the rules

Recruit all 4 Bishops of The Old Faith and Narinder.
Timing starts when selecting new game. Timing ends when ??? Gives Narinder as a follower*.
Difficulty must be chosen as soon as control of The Lamb is gained and never changed for the duration of the run. *Narinder must be sacrificed after The One Who Waits boss fight.

No major glitches.
Major glitches are:

• Follower cloning (opening doors without sufficient follower count)
• Teleport glitch (accessing areas on the map which are not unlocked yet)
• Talisman cloning (cloning a Talisman piece by using Midas Animation Skip on the 4th follower, allowing you to sacrifice another)

I think talisman dupe is still possible but definitely not helpful. Its the only MG that was directly called out in patch notes.

Anywho this is still going to be a pretty long run. The 16 Crusades in any% took over and hour and this going to take 32+ cult management.

Ultimately didn’t happen. I was going to stream it but what having trouble with live splitter. So when my start time for stream hit i just jumped over to doing Octopath traveler like i had been.

As for the rules bit. I just copied the Any% rules and tweaked them for Bishop%. There no speed advantage but the leader board are divided by difficulty so keeping it the same leaves it clear which run the board should be on.

collapses it is done. And so much more exhausting then i expected.

I just barely managed a sub 4. Lots of sub optimal behavior i for got to omnipresent out of most dungeons. Had several resurrections and a death of two.

Pretty sure sub 3 can be done fairly easily. It was close to two hours when i beat TOWW and started the second half.

Levels weren’t actually that bad. destroy statues for devotion and collect from shrine when in the cult. I unlocked the confession booth on day 8 built on day 9 can definitely be done sooner. Choose two followers and focus on leveling them and you’ll be good.

The second half is extremely difficult. Each of the bishops have an encounter with a ton of enemies in a tiny room, the first revisit always have the witness boss fights and the normal boss.

Ultimately I’m not sure this is actually an interesting speed run. I just did a few sermons and a couple of feast and that was good enough to beat the run.

Confession booth and gift.

Confession booth is like 70% of a level combines with a sermon and blessing it basically always levels up on a day.

Quest also provide a big boost to levels so when one of those pop up you want to do it. Naming the cult, cooking a grass gruel, and cleaning the camp can make for some easy targets to focus on levels.

I only did 1 ascension extremely early, and 0 resurrections.

Accensions could be good for like group leveling. That is what I'm thinking of, getting most to like the lvl 4 and accension does get stronger with levels

I got them eventually… and definitely later then i could have. I saw the half heart and went nah i get that later not realizing it was the lock for heavy attacks. And then i also took zealous weapons instead of heavy attacks and that was just a huge mistake since they dont help at all.

So I managed 11 upgrades and next time i would do

Heart-curses-level-poison-vampiric-heart-heavy-kudaii-level-necromantic-fervor-fervor

My boyfriend asked what happened if you killed ratau before doing his knucklebones, does is softlock 100% or does the fox give you card and save you time. Im gonna check it now

If you sacrifice ratau before beating him in knucklebones you can get Hearts2 by reading his note to the lamb out side the lonely shack.

Ratoo sells Hearts3 after beating specifically Heket.

Every single run i have ever done has gotten Hearts2 skipping playing Ratau.

Just a nice short sprint

as far as i know, baal and aym had their attacks move a bit faster particularly aym's fireball circle attack when he teleports to the middle.

toww phase 1 also has a faster fireball speed but now spawns cultists during the fight, reaching the 50% threshold merry go round fireball now has him throw fireballs and spawn cultists while it's happening. not sure if the random chain spike move was in the first rendition but it's also one of the more problematic moves in his moveset

toww phase 2 now has him start throwing fireball patterns after the first eye is defeated and i believe the eyes are more independent when attacking, that is, they're more likely to use a different move than doing one move together

For longer categories: Should we allow a break at some point? Like a 10-15 minute break for every few hours? Could make 100% categories much more feasible. Like declaring the doctrines aren’t a big deal in 100%. It takes way longer to grind out devotion then declare all 20 doctrines and getting all 20 crusades done is long enough to the doctrines that matter before grinding.

Yeah ok so you've got the autosplitter working in both the "Scriptable Auto Splitter" component in your Layout Editor as well as the autosplitter that's listed with the Deactivate and Settings buttons in your Splits Editor window

You only need one of them active otherwise you'll get the doublesplits you've been experiencing

i think now what theyre doing is having a mixture of in-person and online runs, the agdq i did in jan this year was all online cause covid was still an issue for them, the most recent sgdq they ran in june they had a mixture of in-person and online runs and i reckon they might keep doing that cause its a really good way of being able to include more global runners that wont necessarily be able to make the trip to the US

Oh yeah, I think rules about breaks are now relevant. I'm thinking that:

• One can take a break of maximum of 30 minutes every 2 hours of a continuous run. These breaks can be deducted from final time.
  -- Example: If a break is taken in a two hour mark and 30 minute break is taken, next break can be taken in 4 hour 30 minute mark or later (4 hours ran, 30 minutes on break)
• Runner may decide after the two hour mark when the break is to be taken.
• Game must be paused while break is going on.
• Timer must run while on break.
• Break starts on game pause and ends on unpausing the game or 30 minute part, which ever comes first
• Mark all breaks' timestamps (start and end times) in a run's notes in speedrun.com
