Suggestion: Option to Auto Register Players to tournaments

I am not sure if this has been suggested before but it would be nice to have the option to set up an option for auto joining tournaments within the game settings - a checkbox setting or such, thanks!

This sadly isn't feasible for us, as joining a tournament requires a prestige with an active internet connection. It's not possible for us to open your game when it's closed and ensure that you have an active internet connection to join the tournament.

We've currently opted to instead have tournament notifications you can enable to help warn players that there is a tournament to join.

I can pass your suggestion along to the design team, but without being able to resolve the issue listed above, it's unlikely that we'd be able to implement this.

That still wouldn’t work, since you have to make the conscious choice to prestige to make that happen. And auto-prestiges are not a feature that will get implemented

@formal lynx Of course, it would work. The auto-prestige would be tightly coupled with the auto-join feature. (The fundamental restriction, like @low shadow wrote, is for the player to be online.) So the conscious effort truly required is to log into the game on the day of the tournament.

(To be clear, I'm not really supportive of the idea, but I'm not one to dismiss the feasibility of something just because it does not align with my preferences.)

This isn’t a matter of personal preference 😛 GH has made it pretty clear that they do not wish to automate the game by automating prestiges. Being that prestiging is one of the requirements of joining a tournament, their refusal to implement auto prestiges becomes another reason this would not work, despite Lem not having stated this
