The Tales Event in 6-ish days is an event where you do little quests like collect gold or feed things to progress, each nodes gives you a certain number of cells for a monster, needing to complete three nodes to get 100 cells. The tokens are used when you get Tales keys which open chests from the shop to get you even more cells.
