just a few tips to get you started:

1. dont rush the adventure map (play one node: 1 level, every week or 2 weeks)
2. get a pandaken farm sorted out (the more pandakens the better; prolly just fill your whole main island with it)
3. dont waste gems (speeding stuff up, buying monsters in shop, etc..) only good thing gems are for is tales, bounty hunt, cell (even this, it depends)

How to get mythics:

1. breeding
   > breeding events (this usually comes and go, but it's quite hard if you dont have the breeding monsters; when a youtuber monster is created, that monster will be quite simple to obtain via breeding events)
2. multiplayer (there'll be a multiplayer mythic monster every season)
3. legends pass (quite hard to get the monster if you just started)
4. events (best one is bounty hunt as it gives you a ton of monsters at once; race; mazes; tales)
5. monsterwood (cells will appear in monsterwood time to time, so watch the videos)

pretty sure there are more ways, but this is all i can think of atm
