Literally the main way he does insane damage to the team gets blocked the moment something's immune to torture, and then there's the fact that you need to awaken him just to get pierce, which means it's going to be a challenge to use him against area dodge mons.

Again, mainly his damage occurs with his tortures, which can ramp up pretty easily with the right monsters. It's one of the few rare monsters where amplifying his damage doesn't just end with damage boosts but also tortures and with enough of those the thing can decimate an entire team in just one go, potentially dealing more damage in a single turn than say, Nebotus Evil Lord.
It's just that there's so many things hindering that possibility and the fact that Voidreth can only barely answer all those things himself, with the added consequences that if you don't have the ideal conditions he's just a sitting duck just makes him an awful choice for an attacker, and we already he's just as bad at tanking for the team because he doesn't have the trait nor virtues to do it.

Doesnt need to be even 2, you can run " exarch + adaled + florian " he wont get his AOE off because of adaled. Canine will only corrupt the exarch so the florian will just apply possession to your entire team and you are done.

You can say " owh but he is immune to posession " yeah but your other members arent. He only gets 1 decay stack because of the megataunt AND YES thats how it works. So then ehat? Ya gonna take a 75% chance at killing adaled?
