It’s random and luck based. If you have a good amount of gems you can use them when you get to the bonus rounds that provide tickets. Spend them to open extra pots on the rounds with the most tickets.
Don’t spend gems if you get caught before round 9, or even 15 would be ideal. Never spend more than 40 gems, unless you have 1k+ tickets.

as a returning player (loved this game as a kid), am thinking of buying a pack or 2 and was wondering if there are things that are worth it, usually with these sort of games the passes are worth it. I do at the moment have ancestor lamp base, R3 or R5 in special offers in game.
only restarted recently so missed a lot of ancestral champion tokens and trying to read it to get a value idea is just a nightmare. (only have 57 so i'd assume i'd have to spend too much to get anything decent therefore making it not worth the cost)
