Okay so see, the vault has slots which you need to spend vault keys to unlock. Commons and uncommons literally take 5 min to obtain so they are not worth storing in the vault. Honestly even the majority of rares and epics aren't worth storing in vaults.

The vault's purpose is to store monsters that can't be obtained through breeding and are needed at their highest level on a short notice like for team wars.
