honestly, i’d say, go into the cave, if you get the goblin guy, within the first 5 to 10 stages, quit, and then if you get it afterwards, keep going, then if you get him again within 10-20, quit. You need to judge it based on how far you are getting without having to pay more. Ofc the more times you get the goblin, the higher the gem count to continue
