Akira is great if u can r5 him u just need 1900 cells he's not the best ancestor but good. There's no point in getting any other ancestor unless they're rank 3 or above cause most suck at rank 1. For mythics I'd aim for a good tank like king atum and a good attacker like serpentex. Also uriel the divine is good for res

If I could R3 Astrum is he worth doing it or is it better to save tickets for the new release next week or a better ancestral to pull for?

The ancestors usually do get better each era so it's fully a gamble on your end if you want to wait to see if there's a better one. Although, astrum is a really really good attacker I use him on my defense. He's still really good at r3 the only things he won't have is torture immunity and anticipation

Yeah all good, I think I finished the adventure map with r1 ancestors so it shouldn't be too bad. And for team wars it's just about collecting as many good monsters as possible because of the restrictions
