Group your habitats and monsters so that each island holds 1 specific element (all your fire monsters on 1 island, for example). Invest in the boost towers, they are absolutely worth the cost. Place each boost tower around your island of that same element, so they will cover all the habitats and overlap as much as possible for increased boost %. When you can, or when they are on discount, buy level 1 team gold runes and craft them up to level 3s over time. Place those runes on any monsters you have in habitats that you don’t use regularly and have runes on already. There is no fast way to increase gold production, but these are the things that will eventually get it to where you need it to be
