hmm lets see, race can give you a r5 monster and potentially a lot of rank up resources. maze, progressive islands & breeding events can also put you at a massive advantage in terms of overall event progression and monsters/resources obtained. for the gacha stuff you also gain a huge advantage by being able to buy tickets and get the new ancestor monsters which are noticeably stronger than normal abyssals. bh is arguably the least p2w in that aspect since there were good f2p monsters released in the past for slaying the fugitive and you can profit off of stamina purchases if you know what youre doing.

Most of the time just save for rune chests tbh lol if you have a high enough rune crafting building, if you get a lvl 8 rune you can't even use it until your rune thing is lvl 8 so sometimes it sucks lol.
Also you could always try going for the VIP chest but tbh it can kinda suck sometimes too 😂
