Depends on their ranks, overall serpentex would be better high leagues pvp, dark voltaik would be better if you are low leagues with low level runes and have a tank (tank is kind of optional though, just prefered in case of faster monsters)

in the higher leagues, people start to use tanks, and evasion appliers like elvira

if you use dark voltaik, might as well pair it up with a PER monster that goes before dark voltaik

other than that you can have serpentex in the foreground to hit squishy monsters behind tanks
