This pass isn't as good as others, but you'll unlock Malairion, which, whether he's good or not, will give you access to his era saga, unlocking Phase Shield. That, I believe, is overpowered and will help you in the future too. So yes, I would buy the $20 pass this season, but not $50! It's usually just chunks of more rewards and a new monster for $30 more. Which I believe won't help you progress.

so im still sort of a beginner based on how you look at it

It IS good. But not that great to justify when compared to previous. It granted great raw power, now it's more like a lazzerbeam 2.0 at best and that's high ranked. Compared to the other paid talents (like 3 charges evasion with heal , protection against cleansing) and even the free ones (hidden shiv with 90k damage + chance of getting more with metal weakness/light element) and damage reduction + life damage from bleeding with 3 charges) there is no reason to run it unless it's the only talent you have (which is not possible unless you broke the game somehow)

I got the Lord Nebotus and Chi Ao Loong passes because the monsters were good but also because they had some nice extra rewards (birthday and summer (i think) chests)

The golden legends pass imo is pretty much the best deal in the game due to the x rune , double gold and double food from the time you activate/ purchase the pass. plus the gems and maze tickets as well as extra hatchery slot. This being said while the glp is definitely one of the best deals imo it really depends on what type of player you want to be. The book rewards are also nice however some books require the exclusive monster as well which means buying the pass that has the exclusive monster. While the monsters may not always be the best to some people at the same time you have to look at the overall value of what you can get if completed as well as what type of player you want to be.

From what I've seen, he's alright, but he's VERY vulnerable to Anticipation, which is very common in the meta (Lord Nebotus, Lucky Clint, and Posidonia are great examples of this)

I recommend pairing him with a monster with Trait Disable, such as Chi Ao Loong or Dro-Bonaut, and also a tank like Garnyxel or Pangoliath

UV Fusion has some nice synergy with VoltaiK i think (don't quote me on that) but other than that I think she's meh

i don't own either of them though so idk
