I hardly ever win anything, as they’re way too costly and way too time consuming

If you don’t play the game enough and do the necessary collections, you definitely won’t get much benefit from mazes.
I would say if you can manage 3.5 collections per day (~800 coins per day) for first 4 days of a maze, and you can do the entire maze coin dungeon (1000 coins), your best bet is to go for the limited time path.

4000+7230+(800+810)*0.8 = 12518
Assuming LTP and you move during 30% for 100 cells, then 0% for final two steps, it’s
4000+6330+(800+810) = 11940
Both are cheaper than 12629 for R1 going down the main path during 30% which is very difficult to do as f2p.
It all depends on LTP path cost but if it stays similar to Lazarbeam, then LTP seem like the way to go for R1

As long as ltp same cost as last maze, it is cheaper to just use main, meaning r1 cost is around 18k without discount, which would require practically full collections if not breeding/respins.
Basically cost for r1 are a lot higher, unless ltp is different.

In case anyone is like me, and was able to get R1 in forsaken mazes F2P, what might work is to go down the main path for R0 + 140-160 cells (7-8 steps) for similar effort, then get 35 cells from a progressive in the future and top off with 5-25 ambers. Lol.

For f2p trying to get R1, the realistic target needs to be more than 12629 (30% discount cost) because 30% discount occurs at ~6.2 days into the maze, and it’ll be difficult to get that much by then.
If my math is correct, I estimate that you will need around 11200 coins at the time of 30% discount to get to 260 cells (100+160), which gives you the rest of the time to get the last two nodes (40 cells) which should be ~1900 coins.
Or you can aim for 140 cells at 30% and try for last 3 nodes with the remaining but you get the idea.
