At 12 hours in, if you been doing it consistently, you want to gem that first task. You should have 15 gold 10 food and 2 breed done. The completion of the first task should be 46 gems at that point.
Task two you keep up constantly for 1 day and 16 hours. Complete it then, it should be 41 gems.
So on and so on

GUIDE FROM COMMUNITY FOR PROGRESSIVE ISLANDS

Monsters and rewards are placed in linear order so you cannot pick your reward, you have to clear it progressively, that’s where it gets it’s name from.
You have to do certain actions like collecting gold, feeding monsters, fighting, breed and hatch to earn tokens, some tokens drop more easily than others but don’t worry they will show up regularly, you can find more info about this on different sites and servers.

Island Boost
Most progressive have one so what does it mean?
Well it means that the tokens will show up more frequently (50%)
Tips and Tricks
• The items drop is chance based this mean 2 things
1- All players are equal in those types of events, however you can use gems to speed up the process.
2- The items drop DOESN'T depend on the amount of gold collected or amount of food is fed or the length or quality of the breed.

• For gold items keep collecting every time you log into your game or when the gold icon appears on a habitat.
• For feeding to maximize the use of your food especially if you have nothing to feed then breed/buy a common monster - Firesaur for example 15 sec hatch - and feed it to level 10. If you already have something to feed, then it is perfect as no food is wasted.
• For breeding and hatch again it is a chance drop item so short combos are preferred, some combos that work for some players are:
- Legendary Fire + Common Fire = 15 sec
- Fire + Nature Common = 30 sec
- Treezard + Thundenix = 30 sec
so sometimes it seems a breeding or hatching token seems stuck and won’t drop try
- Common Fire + Common Earth = 3 or 6 min
- Common Nature + Common Earth = 3 or 6 min
if all fails switch Breeding Mountain for Breeding Tree.

3- At the start of every new node you should get all tokens available (except the fights) so if you either claimed your reward by doing all quests or buying it with gems and you start at the next node you can gather all tokens available for next one.
• If you thought you should get more tokens, log out and in and some may drop.
4- Progressive Islands are impossible to finish without spending gems so either progress totally with 0 gems or decide your target and spend a little to get it or go all wild and finish it all if you like, and even go to a second round could be useful if you want to rank the monster. It is up to you 😉

I know it was very common before, but also it seems to have happened with krampus and this island

Gold and food is every 4 or 8(doesn't matter) but hatch and breed is every 8 so people just log in every 8 hours and get everything

Firstly, if you don't know how progressive islands work, refer to the first post on this channel that is also pinned.

So, I made the best strategies for spending gems if you want to reach a certain node. First, I'll explain how this works:

-For each monster, there are several possible strategies with various amounts of time necessary. I'm also putting some strategies that take longer to complete than the island lasts because, if an island boost happens, that effectively increases the event time by 2 days(if you're active and don't sleep. If not, it will be a bit less of an increase.)

-To find the strategy that suits you, think about how many times will you collect an entire pool of items in the 7 days of the island, and multiply that number with 8 hours to get the amount of total time you want on your strategy.

-I'm considering the amount of time required to get items once they are in the pool as 0.

-How the strategy works: for each quest that can't be completed instantly, it tells you when to spend gems. I'd recommend you base yourself off the gem cost, but you can also divide the time by 8 hours to see how many times you need to collect the complete pool. If there is some remainder, that means that the strategy recommends you to collect an incomplete pool. The most common example is when the remainder is 4; at that time you have regenerated exactly half of the pool without any waste.

actually @ruby jungle I have a question. I might be misunderstanding your layout, but how come the total times go to 12 days+ when the event is 11 days?

because in those 2 days you can get 12 pools instead of 6
