@indigo nova, it’s a small thing inconvenient for everyone in the lobby to communicate with such player, and it is hard to locate such player when seeking eggforcer to help.
I wonder whether BWD would think about patching it so it would show a consistent randomized name for everyone else in this case?

Huge thanks to the notifications - I confirmed the issue but unfortunately I have been unable to wake main devs of the game to implement the fix. Although I can roll things back and update, I don't want to introduce too many other issues.

The dev's should be awake naturally very soon and will see the reports you have all left and the issue will be fixed in a few hours.

Alright sorry for the late reply, but a theory has been developed. Although I am having trouble recreating it currently, it is definitely my ad-blocker. Here, I'll let the person that found it out explain in their own words.

When a video ad is loaded, the adblocker prevents it from showing. The console shows "error: video disconnected" or something similar.
However, the adblocker doesn't block the script that waits the duration of the ad, and then triggers the pause/despawn.
When the ad would normally finish, the user is already in the game, so this stops it abruptly, as if esc were pressed.

There is a lot of evidence to support this, like it only happening occasionally and the logs in the console, but one thing that is doesn't quite fit is that it only started happening with the February update. Possibly the video ad system got changed?

why I think it happened because I was in close range with my opponent and I thought I shot the crack shot (I didn't) so I swapped to the pistol. I fired a few and immediately swapped over to the crack shot and I clicked fire to reload and it had one in the chamber so then I clicked fire again (to reload) and that's when I got the extra shots, and yes they did do damage if I remember correctly.
