I do understand the situation, and agree it would be good if we could fix it; the issue is that the adblocker is literally blocking the transition from "ad" to "play game" and there isn't a whole lot that we can do; that transition is pretty hard-coded into the game. this is due to a user being able to just submit to adblockers what service call to block, and anything we put in is also subject to that.

If I am understanding this correctly, I am able to change the settings though I use the adblocker of OperaGX, so the accessing of it is different, I've never heard of GoGuardian before though so I'm unsure about that. I can still grab a video though, but Shell has been taking around 10 minutes to actually load for me recently so it'll probably take a bit (Update; it took 30 minutes lmao)

Alright so I've sent them the video, though this time the ad just played out despite being not visible. This has happened to me a few times and there have been 3 outcomes that I've observed from it; it plays the ad without the screen playing but with audio and functions normally, it tries to play it, gives up and just closes the ad, or it begins to loop. That's all of what I've gone through with it, at least- none of which happened prior to me enabling the adblocker (Now have confirmation that it is the same thing that Ray is experiencing, I can send you the video as well if you'd like.)

So the entire problem with this, is that something is broken with the ad trying to play. this should be fixed. I would request that adblcok delay be brought back, as this makes it easier with a shorter penalty.

Okay thanks, we will check it out. It definitely seems like your adblocker is blocking something between the "play video" and "fetch video" calls. If it got to the "fetch video" it would hit your adblocker and say "theres adblocker, roll the 'disable adblocker' ad" but it's not doing that, so the call that plays on ad end to Play Game is erroring out and not being reached

Saying that the pitchfork melee is a trident is not wrong, but the choice of words reflects the idea that the weapon here is suggesting. I hope this helps you understand the reason behind the naming of the melee better.

Thanks for the reminder. Yes, I understand that there is a report feature now, since the first day it was rolled out into production.

And from my experience of using the report feature, it is not "responsive", if at all. It highly relies on the availability of eggforcers at that moment.
Even though eggforcers would go through reports at later time if they missed them in the first place, I think these reports, with no context, do not have much weights in them.

Since the roll-out of report feature, I have only pinged Harrison one time in the previous incident where two aimbotters were active in the same lobby, ruining everyone's gameplay. Numerous players and I reported those two offenders. But after 15 mins, there was still nothing happening. And I saw Harrsion was online so I think my action of pinging Harrison to take a look, if he had time, could be justified.

Yes, that's exactly what it's supposed to do. FPV spectating just locks the camera to wherever another player is pointing and then tracks their direction/location. There's no way for you to move the camera

Since there's no one else to spectate, it just goes into a sort of stasis mode. If you press V to take it back into freecam it should work fine

Shell’s been becoming unplayable for me now. Recently when I’m playing, I get these weird ridiculous lag spikes (100ms, at very worst getting to 800ms) and very poor fps (30fps or less) around every 5 - 30seconds. Something that occurs at the same time these lag spikes happen is that there is this little pop-up thing down the bottom left of chrome, it’s the URL of some weird sites. It often says: “Waiting for [URL]”

I’ve seen these before when I reload shell or open shell. It says connecting to [URL], but it’s recently been happening in-game and has gotten really bad today. Though, this may be connected to that I have cleared my chrome data before I started playing. These lag spikes has been happening with and without using my theme I made on TamperMonkey. I would give it some time before taking action to fix this because I feel like they are slowly getting better if I play more frequently after the cleared cache/data.

I started to get the same ping spike/ screen frozen issue since yesterday.

The game played normally then suddenly everything was frozen, and I couldn’t move too. The ping also spiked to 500ms from 13ms. Then the ping got frozen too.

Then after 1-2 minutes, the game crashed. Or I had to abandon the game and reload for it to return to normal.

My laptop was an okay laptop:
2021 MacBook Pro, Apple M1 Max, 32 GB Memory, macOS Ventura 13.6, Chrome Version 117

I didn’t pay attention to the bottom left screen. But will do if it happens again.

Personally, I wouldn't make too strong an assertion on this.
While I agree that something like temporary internet connection issue and bad cache could the problem, I voiced my issue because I could relate PhobiaxD and Ishmyseter's issue just so much, and it only happens recently.

There could be many more reasons that cause the same issue, not only on client side.

Because if you follow previous discussion, the occurrence of issue likely also depends on the ads served by BWD ad partner.
Moreover, there has been a McAfee ad redirection pop up that replaces player's current game tab with McAfee ad website. Not everyone encountered this, only to a few.

The issue just happened for me again: the fps suddenly dropped to 3, ping to 454ms, then suddenly screen got frozen,
There was no status bar on the bottom left. I tried to bring up the chrome console using keyboard shortcut, it was unresponsive.
Then I opened a random webpage in another chrome tab to see whether that was my internet connection issue, the webpage opens up just fine and responsive. Then I switched back to thee chrome tab where shellshockers was in, UI was empty, just white screen, then a few secs later, the chrome console opens up itself (long delay).

Was playing on a browser called brave, I don't have any extensions which affect the game anyhow yet I wasn't able to click the spectator button. The button was visible to me, but it just stood there like it was coded to be a image and not a hyperlink.

I should probably just pin my explanation of it somewhere 😛

So to be realistic, Blanks are the cause of your game client communicating with the server and saying "I hit this person" and the other person communicating with the server saying "I got hit."

Thats what happens with ANY online game that does not do hit scan (IE, a game that you tell the server you hit something and the game just says "ok").
To fix blanks, we basically would have to go to hitscan, and that would mean an entire re-write of the game's code, which probably IS a little hard for our two devs to completely remake the game.

I get that blanks suck, but the game is played in multiple regions with multiple different degrees of computer performance and internet speeds.
The way the game is designed allows for all of those factors to be taken into account and provide the most baseline experience for all users, as opposed to giving the top-of-the-line computers with the 20gig fiber internets free hitscans on the school chromebook kids

@indigo nova whenever I die in shell, my ping skyrockets anywhere between 2k to 80k and my frames drop anywhere from 0 to 20. (image above is an example, and the reason my FPS count is 44 is because my game froze). After 2-6 minutes, my game goes back to normal.

I discovered this while using Chrome, so I decided to use Microsoft Edge, but the issue is still present in Edge. This never happened to me before the mid month October update right now, and I use AdGuard because without AdGuard my PC would lag and my frames would drop to 40-30 while despawned. I usually get 60 FPS. Lastly, my PC is from 2014, but I haven't replaced it since shell would run fine before this mid month update.

I've had enough, many people including myself who I know play on sg servers have been having ping spikes of over 10000 over the last few weeks and it has not shown any sign of improvement. As for myself I am getting more and more blanks on people and it really isn't funny when you lose SR elo to it or a decent ks to a sudden spike in ping which makes your game freeze or make it feel like walking through mud when running from a nade. Apart from that, the amount of hackers has shown barely any change, reports are going out but I still see the same hackers in the next lobby, I like how hackers are getting banned but the efficiency of it needs to be greatly improved. It's not the singapore servers though; I can play on them from western Canada and have stable ping. There is a problem atm with some ads causing lag spikes, but thats not specific to SG servers and has mostly been an issue for the past week or so.
It's been ongoing for a fair while now that only people who are actually local to the SG server seem to get the bad ping; this usually indicates some general internet infrastructure issue, but is unfortunately not something we can take care of on our end.
To be clear, we use a service for our servers that we pay for a server host in a location. All the same company, all the same price, every server is the same.

this actually always happens for all rpeggs. In the inventory, you can't see the rocket either. The best example of this is with the merc zone rpegg, you have to fire one shot, reload, then the rocket is visible

Occasionally an adblocker will display ads for VIP as the adblocker blocks the is_vip check to disable the ads.

That said, sometimes ads are shown without an adblocker anyways, but that SHOULD* be fixed next update

Some people have an issue in the game where their mouse will randomly jerk and change the way they're looking. This fixes that for most people
