since i run solo, an antidote from posters or shot is a must have just for the rare case you get hit by poison. because it prevents any healing and having 3 guns pointed at you is already enough 😄

Because I played Hunt for many years and had a shit KDA for years.
I was -250 deaths-to-kill.
I worked myself up to even it out and reached 1.33KDA and then promptly got stuck in 6 star.
That is one of the biggest flaws with this system, it can just "lock you in" into a bracket, that is also why you see 4 stars with 1.8KDA

everyone has a hidden MMR score and if you kill someone with a higher score you take their points if you die they take yours. and the further away their score is the more your score changes.

there probably is some other modifiers but they are not publicly known.

not really, if you can not consistently kill 5-6 then you will drop again. unless your teammates pull you into an environment where everyone has higher MMR than you. then you still can drop, just takes a lot more deaths. but if you play with players on your same level you should never get stuck.

But it does leave players like me, who realistically should be a 5 star bc my raw aiming is lacking, is getting stuck in 6 star.
That said, I don't mind 6 star that much, it is only the 2-3KDA players that really sours the game for me because 9 outta 10 times it is hardly a fight for anyone.

The way MMR is set up now, you can shoot up fast by killing high star players.

So my concern is, what if you got lucky killing a few 6* and your next games youre stuck in 6* lobbies

and since the game has a lot of players, hypothetically, most of your enemies are 6* now. So now you can't drop stars anymore because the game decided your luck is pure skill and people killing you are mostly 6* in your 6* lobbies

Hunt: Showdown uses a modified variant of the OpenSkill system, they haven't said much about it so we don't know how it is exactly used, but OpenSkill is able to have a confidence value about ones MMR which is exactly designed to counter the thing you are afraid up, if you suddenly shoot up it could recognize that and have low confidence that you actually belong there and make you drop down easier.

I think there is a slight difference, issue with CQC being "Oops! All shotguns!" is that shotguns removes a lot of "CQC weapons" from the pool as they cannot 1-tap.
