They balance weapons by pickrate, the idea being there's something wrong with the weapon if it's not getting a healthy enough amount of picks by the playerbase. Mako, Berthier, Romero Alamo, they're all on the lower end. Berthier is probably the most picked out of the group but still losing out to the rest of the long ammo guns.
