New player. I am trying to play solo & play in a normal way. However, I keep getting matched against duos and people just rush bounties and set up or run out. What do I do? I don't get much xp and I certainly don't get money by doing anything else (even tho I have a map up with registers barely any of the spawns are taken up). Even if I get kills, if it delays me from getting bounties, then I effectively come out with nothing. How am I supposed to have any kind of success?

It's pretty fun. You just have to accept that you're going to get punished hard for your mistakes while you learn, because you won't have friends to be your safety net
I had to learn to breach compounds and recon solo, and I lost a lot of times while building my intuition for how things works and other players think

I play soul survivor to have great odds to win. You only meet solos.
Solo vs trios/duos is really up to if you're meeting equally skilled players that will trash on you in a team unless you third party them or you manage to meet people that are less experienced than you and stomp them without effort.

Its a combination of multilple things: some teams throwing what seems like full bar of nades when I don't have much (since I don't wanna waste money if I cant earn it), teams that already have bounties get xray vision..., not knowing the map, and the bombardment of ambient sounds that fake me out whether its a player or not, one time I traid chasing somebody and they got out at extract when I had eyes on them but left mines around extract...., all in combination with trying to learn best ways to kills bosses + how to heal fast w/ out good meds. As a solo player yourself, what do you suggest I do about those things while I try to gung ho rush bounty? Any gear setup that saves money so I can get tools/consumables?

Let me think of what works for me

1. each stick of dynamite is only 18 dollars. If you're not taking anything else, you're basically losing money by not taking 4 of these and investing in your survival
2. Don't sleep on beetles. I recommend taking 1 to scout out the bounty compound when the peeps in there are being quiet. Knowing where your enemy is is vital to your survival, don't rely on reflexes
3. teams only get 10 seconds of xray vision total, assuming none of them die and pick up the bounty again. During a gunfight you're naturally expected to relocate often and to not repeek the same angle, so they will inevitably have to use up their supply. My advice is don't think of them as having an overwhelming advantage, all it does is even the playing field since now they know where you are and you know where they are.
4. All boss strategies can be summed up by) Hit them with a melee weapon two or three times/until your stamina runs out, then leave the building to let your stamina recharge. A railroad hammer can kill a boss in 8 hits or less, a talon weapon like a ranger in slightly more.

Nah, you're on the right track. A double action is a very good choice for a secondary
The fastest rifle you're going to get is the marathon, with a 1 second cycle rate
it's a very, very, very good weapon. I still wouldn't risk relying on it for close range if you can help it, a double tap with a double action will take you out real quick

That said, a marathon with a melee weapon to take out bosses isn't a bad idea
However, I personally recommend bringing one of the weapons modified for melee

Going back to the centennial I mentioned earlier:

It has a Trauma modification, which is literally just a bludgeon so that you can use it as a melee weapon too

200 damage, also works on the immolators, which usually freak out if you shoot or stab them

that way you get a decent medium range rifle, a melee weapon for taking out bosses or even players in an emergency (or if u just wanna meme)
and you still get a free slot
