For me there is a balance to be had.
Traits should be good, but there needs to be balance where it feels like options and not mandatory filler.
At this point you are throwing not picking traits like resilience, doctor and surefoot.
Traits should make you lean into your playstyles and gameplan, not to be a baseline for being competitve.

the way empress works is it applies 3 traits in order. first catalyst then necromancer and a random scarce or burn trait as last. so for example if you want necromancer in the middle of the game and you use empress with just 1 slot open it gives you catalyst instead

Yeah, that’s a totally viable strat. Sadly less so at this very moment because 4 shot boons are everywhere (and give 5 minutes of antidote each), but definitely still good, especially for drawn out fights. I love hand crossbow. Regular bolts are super solid for CQC too

You no longer get the extra ammo from dualies itself. Ie you wont have 30 total rounds from just the sparks pistols. But you can ammo mule. So you can run a Mosin which has 10 reserve and get 27 total reserve from the sparks
