The problem with free to play is that it's a temporary boost rather than a permanent one. Most games pull out the F2P as a last resort but after two months max the playerbase goes right back to where it was before. For Hunt specifically, going F2P would be a disaster as it would enable rampant cheating.
I think the price is pretty good, and the way the devs put it on sale regularly makes the barrier for entry lower.

i had a ton of bizarre performance issues on my 6800xt that i had, from update to update it would be doing super good and then just run like shit in the same game so i just switched to a 4080 and havent had any issues since

i'm thinking the screen would be about as filled with content, but the content would make sense at a glance. Just like you can easily tell where the bear traps and tripwires are, because they look like actual 3d objects, you should be able to see where the doors are, where the gramophones are, etc
