Milli kills are rare at high ratings. And they mostly come with a katana. And here it's a hammer. I've never seen anyone running around with a hammer. And I paid for it! But I can't get what I paid for. Why did they do this? The gameplay is different at 6 stars. Close-range kills are very rare. And no one ever runs around with a hammer. This is a pre-emptive rating penalty because it deprives you of a weapon. Close combat is in the tools. Pistols/crossbows, one-handed weapons are important at range. These conditions are impossible to fulfill at a decent skill level.

I've been playing since the very beginning of the game, enjoying more or less the different metas of the game, influenced by the will of the developers and trends of the streamers.
From the time the developers were fighting against campers of boss's lair by adding new indications (noise when entering the compound, boss's icon flashing), the back-then-call winfield spam meta before the straf/counter-straf nerf ; the avtomat meta with double long ammo pistols and many more different metas that drove the game...

Recently (compared to game lifetime) a particular attention has been given to the business model of hunt and a big rework started.

Of course the game need to make its money and the team paid... I've always been buying skins out of the steam shop to give gratitude for the free updates we were receiving, no matter if I was liking the update, if it was big or not, I've gone a long way with the complete steam market owned regarding Hunt MTX.

This brand-new update, adding, beside the recycled event, a whole new set of MTX that are mostly closed behind a paywall... This made me look back to where Hunt is coming from and the evolution of the business model.
This sadly start to look more and more like a milking machine targeting core community wallet.
I'm getting out of this adventure, with my hunter heart full of amazing memories and anthological moments that Hunt:Showdown made me live, some even shared on reddit with the rest of the community, sadly seasoned with this recent bitterness taste.
